  • Honestly I don't know why I love to run. I am a beginner at running but I feel SOOO much better after a good run. Yesterday I opted out of the elliptical warm up and just went for it on the treadmill. Although I couldn't make the whole 4 mile goal (I had to stop at 3.5), the workout was amazing. Hopefully by October I can…
  • For me at this point, I prefer the treadmill. I am a beginner so I alternate between running and walking. It's easier for me to keep track of the time. I'm sure once I become a great runner I will prefer the outdoors but for now the treadmill, some tunes, and ESPN keep me going pretty well.
  • Thank you for this spreadsheet! Gives me a better way to log my miles.
  • I stopped using Pandora and started in on Spotify because I can make my own playlists which I LOVE! Got worn out on my playlist and whipped out Pandora last night and it was so refreshing to hear a new mix! I've written down the songs that I don't have from the above lists too to add them to my S-list. Club Can't Handle Me…
  • Is it possible to sweat on your chin right below your bottom lip or is it just the sweat from your nose and face? That's the weird place I noticed when I started running...
  • Trying to stay motivated is tough for me! It seems like I miss one day and then it's out the window for the next day :ohwell: It's been especially difficult since I had to ground my son for two weeks and that means no going to the Y. So now I have to go before I pick him up and if I don't make it, I'm stuck until my…
  • I'm trying to log my food at the beginning of the day to keep better control of myself throughout the day. So far it's worked, but it's really hard sometimes. Otherwise, I usually check my numbers on here before I eat to gauge how much I can eat of what, then I log after.
  • I have tried Advocare but it didn't really do much for me--I have a friend who is doing the 24 day challenge and she is seeing results. She's also running too in addition to have changed her diet while doing it and she is 100% committed to it which might have been my problem when I tried it. I would buy the Spark again for…
  • My alarm goes off at 5:45a when I have Barre class (it's at 6:30a). Otherwise it's not set at all. I go to bed between 9p and 10p. On days I don't set my alarm I wake up naturally about 7a.
  • I was the same way when I started running. I am overweight so I was really self conscience about how I looked while running. It took me three months to gain enough courage to run on the treadmill. I just KNEW the other people there were silently judging me and how I looked, how unfit I was and how I couldn't run for very…
  • I'm on the Northside! On most mornings I go to Spokane Barre for my workout there, then take the fam to the Y in the eves (at least until the weather gets better). I'm using RunDouble to train for a 5K. I just started--again, on here. I'm going on my second week at SB, and Week 2 on RD. Everyone have a great day :))
  • Good Morning Heather! I'm a Heather too :)) In the winter, having a membership to the YMCA has been a godsend! My son loves to stay active so he plays in basketball in the gym and sometimes goes to the family activity center while I'm upstairs working out. We don't have a yard where we live so this is lifesaver in the…
  • Good Morning! I'm Heather and I was born and raised here in Spokane :)
  • I haven't ran since last Tuesday. I've been a super slacker but am going to get back at it today--maybe that'll make help make me feel better! I am suppose to start on Week 2 Day 1 but wonder if I should do a Week 1 run since I haven't done one in about a week? Here's to keeping up with the program!! Have a good Monday…

  • I have four songs right now on my Spotify list that I MUST listen to at one point during my run: Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida ft David Guetta Young and Beautiful - Lana Del Ray vs Cedric Gervais Yeah! - Usher Timber - Pitbull and Kesha And then I listen to this song to remind me why I'm working out and keep me motivated…
  • I have been taking it since December and while my actual weight hasn't gone down (confused) I have lost a few inches (yay!). I changed my eating habits when I started taking it and I work out 5 to 6 times week. I just started a C25K program and Barre classes, and I take a weights class at the Y twice a week. Not sure why I…
  • I am in!! Please send me the info :)
  • I need support too!! Feel free to add me :)
  • I had been wanting to do Barre for a really long time. I finally got up enough nerve and signed up for a private session to see if it would be up my alley and if I could do it before I signed up. I just finished my first session in the class setting today and am super excited to continue on! I signed up next week for four…
  • My first session went well! It was more difficult than I expected but I'm super excited for my first class tomorrow! I am glad I finally got up enough nerve to sign up. I put it off and put it off for so long because I was scared. Hopefully in 10 weeks I will see a transformation started!!!! :) My next question is.... how…
  • I have committed to one personal session with a local barre studio--I asked her to squeeze me in this week before I lost my nerve! I think that after one session I will know what to expect and it will help me feel just a little more confident to join a class. Afterward I think I will take advantage of the new member…
  • When I want something sweet (which is often lol) I eat a red delicious apple. Not every time obviously but when that craving is coming on for something sweet, I hold out for a day or two and then enjoy an apple. It's worked for me!
  • Last week I was completely discouraged because I had gained BACK the 6 lbs I was down. I still kept going to the classes I was going to (cycling and weights class) but I could tell I wasn't getting in a good workout. I wasn't putting in the extra effort to make it a good workout, I was just going through the motions. It…
  • I am so sorry this happened to you!! <hugs> He is a JERK. Don't let his hateful words get into your head. Head up and keep working toward YOUR goal. and don't forget... You are AMAZING!!!!
  • I am at the same. I am still getting back on track after a disasterous Superbowl weekend :( Lost my groove but I'm back at it now! Next week will have some results (I hope) :) Good job everyone!!!
  • I don't ever eat breakfast mostly because I don't wake up in time to eat it before I have to head out to work. I think I'm going to try to hard boil some eggs then grab them on the way out so at least I can have a little something. Hopefully then I won't overindulge at lunch!! I'll have to remember the granola bar thing…
  • Thanks everyone! I weighed myself again at the Y last night and their scale said the same thing. I must be eating way too much or not enough of the right kinds of foods. Soooo, now I must try to pay better attention to the foods I eat and keep up my exercising. I have to say though, today I feel a lot better about myself…
  • My little ticker thing says my goal is to lose 70 lbs...that's my ULTIMATE goal, but right now I am focused on just losing 50 then the extra 20 is the bonus. I don't know if I will do the weekly weigh in, I found the last time it I did weekly, I got discouraged and my work out ended up being less satisfying, but that's…
