  • I have found a lot of helpful youtube references. This one addresses some of the most common mistakes in kettlebell swing form. I have found using the jump to mimic the explosive hip motion is helpful before I do my swings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q68QfoQyf6Q These same guys do a great breakdown of Turkish Get-Ups…
  • I've been on the Tim Ferriss bandwagon for just a few months now. I have the four hour workweek and four hour body on my phone, which is great for referencing. Currently reading the four hour chef as well, which I'm really enjoying. Anybody out there doing kettlebells? That's my next focus.

  • Especially as the weather cools, I like to make big soups. They last me for days and days, and they only get better as they sit! For quick fixes, I also like frozen veggies that you can steam in the microwave. I keep them in the freezer at work for snack attacks. Fresh fruit is also portable and quick.
  • Congratulations! You look great!
  • Interesting stuff here. For me, the term queer doesn't necessarily mean sexual fluidity, but rather serves as an over-arching, all-encompassing label for people that fall outside of sex and/or gender norms. I use the terms gay and queer to identify myself. I often prefer using the term queer, even though my sexuality is…
  • Were you referring to the city or the state? I live in the finger lakes region.
  • Be careful with Casein...that protein has been directly linked to increased chance of liver cancer. It occurs naturally in cow's milk, but I wouldn't load up on the stuff.
  • Day One, Level Two Complete! I watched level 2 on L1D8, just to get a sense of what was coming. There were definitely some things that I liked more about Level 2. The moves seem a bit more entertaining, so that's nice. But those planks! I also feel like this workout differs significantly from Level 1 in that it gets…

  • I agree! My girlfriend and I work together as well and she has been incredibly supportive with my goals to get healthy, even though neither of us put pressure on/feel that the other should lose weight. She's at a healthy weight herself, but we do some of our exercising together and she has been logging her food here as…
  • I am starting my first vegetable garden this year, and I'm keeping it pretty simple. Carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, and my favorite herbs.
  • I did it in the afternoon for the first time this round and I really liked it. I don't know if it was because it's day five and my body has adjusted, but I felt like I was able to go a lot harder at the workout. I worry about putting it off to the afternoon because then it is so easy to continue to put off, but I really…
  • I'm on day 4. I'm having a lot of pain in my lower back, made worse from the fact that I have a desk job so I'm sitting all day. Any suggestions?
  • Hey guys, I am on Day 4 of 30DS and it is starting to feel a little bit more doable. I started it once before back in December but stopped for holiday shopping and never did it again. I am pretty much trying to shred every day-- I'll take a day off if I feel my body really needs it, which I'm sure will happen. I am…
