Exactly. She's asked him not to bring food for her, she said nothing about not eating it himself, he's refused to listen to a perfectly reasonable request. That's what the problem is.

I had to join a gym, I was sick of ****heads making comments while I was out walking/running (mostly from moving cars, there's bravery) because I was both embarrassed and starting to feel unsafe. I've found a new place to jog though, well-lit and I'm dragging various friends along with me, so I can get fresh air with my…

130-140lbs, I'll assess when I get closer. I want to be a size 10/12 UK.

I can sympathise, I'm going through the same thing! I used to eat out of habit at nighttime as well, so I've taken up knitting (I'm really, really bad at it, but it's hard to eat when both hands are occupied) and I have a cup of chai or options hot chocolate, so I still have the sensation of something hot before I sleep. I…

But she's not, she's just asking him to support her in fighting her food issues. He's bringing home food for her to eat, not just for him. He's ignoring her when she asks him not to do that to her, and that's not ok. OP, could you bring a snack to the gym you could eat on the way home? Just enough to take the edge off so…

It does, thank you! According to the Katch-McCardle formula, I should be eating at least 1550 cals, then. THanks so much for your help!
-
This might sound weird, but you actually look a lot younger as well as fitter! Congratulation on the loss, you look great, keep it up!
-
WTF? Even if she had been pregnant, that's not ok! You don't touch or make unsolicited personal remarks to strangers, EVER!

And if you can't afford the time.money to do a full college course, try reading 'Bad Science' by Ben Goldacre. It's funny, accessible, relevant and doesn't have an agenda. It will also teach you transferable skills in reading scientific papers and science journalism.

Me either! Legit Poe.

What's not valid about it? Are you denying that our culture is hetero-normative? That LGBT aren't seen as 'other' and not seperate from the nice, normal straight culture?
-
That's because children can't consent. Although I don't know why I'm bothering to engage with someone who would seriously consider a consensual adult relationship comparable with child abuse.
-
gender =/= sex. And there are plenty of people who have chromosomes that do not correspond with the typical XX or XY. Interesting that so many people are against parents trying to raise their child outside of traditional gender roles. I think that's admirable; surrounding the child with publicity growing up is not.…

I <3 this. I wish they wouldn't shove their straightness in my face though, can't they just keep that stuff for when they're alone?

You're welcome! No matter how fat or skinny or whatever someone's wearing; walking down the street is not an invitation or an excuse to shout uninvited comments at them. If I'm in a relatively safe space, I've taken to confronting them, it's completely unacceptable. Good luck with your weight loss!
-
I'll hold their arms for you. The amount of abuse I've had shouted at me in the street. . . . It's as bad as the weird aggressive sexual 'compliments' for ruining my mood.

@TylerJ76, 32 @kellynlulu, close, I'm 24! actually, I could have been 22 when that picture was taken, you are alarmingly good at this.

I had to buy a dress for a formal work dinner recently, I couldn't bear the thought of anything sleeveless, which only left me the option of dresses that were too old for me. I tried on about 20, everything looked horrendous and I ended up crying in the changing room for about 20 minutes. I found a dress that was 'ok' and…

What layout did you use for your spreadsheet? I tried to make one and it got really messy really quickly (me and Excell aren't friends) so any tips you have would be appreciated!

What about a hard boiled egg? I don't know if morrisons has a deli counter, but a large egg is only 100 cals and then loads of veggies, like spinach and a carrot maybe? Or just go over a bit and stay under a bit tomorrow.

aww, i can't see your face! I like your pink scarf! EDIT: I just realised I can click on your photo and see the full thing! You have fantastic hair and a lovely smile!

If I ignore a friend request, it's (personally) because I found the person off-putting in some way, I'm not going to go out of my way to interact with them. Although I'm sure some people have just reached an amount of friends that they feel suits them and reject all/most new requests automatically. It has literally never…

Actually, people with severe psychological problems would be better served by people in internet forums not suggesting that a) medication is not a legitimate part of some people's treatment (why is that even relevant?) and b) online interaction is only for mentally healthy people. People with ED's and depression are…

That is particularly creepy given that I'm imagining your avatar saying it to me. :D
-
hahaha, omg I think I love you.
-
Are you serious? Obviously you have no clue about the complexity of mental disorders and the psychological damage and disordered thinking they can cause. I hope to god you never have to find out, but if you want to avoid showing your ignorance and lack of empathy again, I would suggest you do some research.
-
Fair enough, I just see a lot of posts haranguing people who obviously have some sort of disordered relationship with food (and even those type of threads you mention have a bit of an ED vibe to them tbh) and it really bothers me. I really think the mods should remove them, it can be triggering to those in recovery and…

I'd be a bit annoyed if people were sneaking possums into all of my food and not listing it, tbh. OP, if you mean that Coke Zero is claiming to contain potassium and it doesn't, report them to the Advertising Standards Authority or your local equivalent.

If I have to eat on the go, I grab some sliced chicken/turkey or some smoked salmon. It did take me ages to get used to what I felt was 'evening food' in the morning though! Or scrambled eggs with chopped spinach and a tiny tiny bit of cheddar, but I know you're sick of eggs. Soup is another weird one, but good on cold…

To be fair, some people having eating disorders and telling them 'eat more!' is about as unhelpful and potentially harmful as telling someone with depression to 'be happier!'.
