No, it's not just you. I tend to be a little obsessive about anything I am "into" at any given time. Right now, I am VERY into losing this weight, and feeling better. So yes, that's something I constantly think about and research. I am trying not to actually talk to many people about it though. In times past, I did…

This is pretty much what I am attempting to do. I know a calorie is a calorie, but if you "spend" those calories on less filling items (white rice rather than higher fiber brown. Chocolate rather than a bowl of greek yogurt and honey) it's going to be difficult to maintain a calorie deficit. You'll just be too hungry, imo.

I am SO glad you posted this! Wow, if I look that amazing after 14lbs off, I'll be proud. Great work!

Yep, I do this. :)

Thanks for the excellent summary link up! I like the sounds of that work out.

By JM, do you mean Jillian Michaels? If so, I definitely know that's not lifting. It's great cardio and toning work for me so far, but I might be looking for something different. Thanks for your input! I want to check out some of the links on the heavier weights at low reps and what that does for women. You get so much…

This idea of raising my calories makes me nervous. But if I don't have some success this week, that will be my next move. I think 1640 is my 80% of TDEE and so that would make sense. I just can't imagine losing and eating that much. But there are so many people with success here as a result of upping calories that I know…

Thanks for the link up! And my daughter weighs 51 lbs and I pick her up frequently. She feels heavy to me. :)

Thanks all! This is good info. I'll check out bodybuilding.com and possibly see about a trainer. The free weight area of the gym is VERY intimidating to me so I wouldn't feel confident just jumping in

Thanks for this. I really hope this ends up being true for me as well. Because to make this a lifestyle, I don't think I can stand to stick to 1350 calories a day EVERY day. Sometimes, I am simply not as hungry and find it challenging to eat all of that. But man, when I am hungry and "can't" eat, it doesn't seem worth the…

I have wondered about the accuracy of some of the estimated calories burned here too. I wondered if they were being rather generous. My calories burned for elliptical pretty closely mirrors what the elliptical machine says so, hmmm. If I don't start seeing results, then I am considering purchasing a Fitbit to see where I…

Interesting. So, basically I'd end up eating close to the same calories either way I went with. Thanks. That is helpful!

Thanks for having the courage to post this! I come here for the success stories to keep me going too, because it does seem to be an impossible task (and one I've tried and failed at repeatedly) to lose 40+ lbs. Love your enthusiasm and you look awesome! Great job.
