You do have to get your sleep...at least 7-8 hours. Try walking for 30 minutes after dinner on nights you get home earlier than 9:30. The walk should not rev up your metabolism too much so you can't sleep. -or maybe a 30 minute walk midday after your lunch.....(if your schedule permits) ...and get a great workout in on the…

Sautee onions in a tablespoon of EVOO. Add a few of your favorite spices... black pepper, Thyme, Parsley... add teaspoon of Catsup.. then add your drained can salmon with about 1/4 cup of water and cook for about 5 minutes. (you don't have to take the bones out of canned salmon, but you can if you choose to) Put on top of…

I'd like to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs per week. So that would be about 10-12 lbs. in the next 6 weeks. I just restarted and have been consistent with my exercise and healthy eating.

Congrats to you and Hubby on the fantastic progress.... You just keep it up. Take one day at a time... even if you feel you haven't made goal, you are going in the right direction. Each day take a step and you will eventually get there!!!

What a wonderful post. Keep up your new great healthy way of living! Like yourself, I am also feeling great. ...now that i have gone back to logging my foods, the cardio and weight training are paying dividends :)

Go see your Doctor! Also, take it easy with Plyo.. I also started a Plyo with dumbbells routine with a 15 HITT interval training 3 days per week (alternate days. It can be hard on the body because it is Tough workout!!. Rest and ICE the swollen areas and make sure you are resting your body between this hardcore workouts.…

-Drink more than 5-6 glasses of water per day if you are exercising regularly. -Don't consume the "Extra" calories MFP says you have earned... you might be eat above what you need to have a 3500 calorie deficit each week to lose the weight. Stick to below the 1400 you are already eating.. don't skip meals. ...and continue…

You CAN have a social life. Just limit your drinking. Alcohol is full of empty calories. Have one drink and is not to calorie, sugar and carb dense. Maybe vodka with tonic.. or gin/tonic. No fruity drinks or rum with coke... Social Life should not = drinking.

Start Walking first.. Do not go out there and attempt to jog. Walk, Walk, Walk, until your body is adjusted. Add some light hand weights after a time and speed up your pace... and definitely talk to your Doctor.

I love chickpeas. Making a dish with it tomorrow. Unfortunately, it is my own recipe, made with ground turkey breast, but I don't know all of the info required to post. I have shared the dish with a good friend and she loves it. I grew up eating chickpeas..

Congrats to you and hubby for doing this together! You look marvelous. Keep up the great work!

When I stall, I change my exercise up a little. The body can get used to the same exercise each day. So two days a week I do HIIT on my elliptical. Warm up doing steady state for 5 minutes, bump up your resistance where you can barely peddle for 1 minute. go back to steady state for 1 minute. do that sequence for about 10…

FYI... all Ellipticals are not made the same. I have worked out on Nordic, Lifecycle and Precor. I find Precors are the best.. but again , extremely pricey. They have a completely different feel and yes you have to push yourself. The Ellipticals with the arm movement slow me down (personally, I like the one with ramp). I…

Plateaus can be discouraging.. THANK GOODNESS you stuck it out. YOU GO!!! I've been weighing the same for the past 3 weeks... I am determined to continue because I know I am doing the right thing and my body WILL continue to change in the positive direction. Thanks for posting this ..because I am now even more encouraged!…

I agree with myprogress2010. Try both. See which fits you best. Personally, I purchased a Precor Elliptical a few years ago, because I could no longer jog/run with a bad lower back. Precors are extremely expensive.. I purchased the one that has no arms (I work my arms with weights), but has auto ramps. It works great for…

Absolutely true Laura. Our bodies are like cars... No fuel, it won't go. Clean, healthy food = energy. We need a certain amount of good quality protein, fat and carbs each day to keep our engines going strong. When we are burning fuel by exercising a lot (weights and cardio), we need a bit more, not less. Just think of car…

I recently found this app on my Android and I love it. I began working out in my garage Nov 2008. I lost 40 lbs and have been able to keep it off. I was 218lbs when I started. Well, I have continued with exercise and eating healthier, but my portions were not good. I travelled abroad for work earlier this summer and being…
