I get up around 5:30-6am to get my exercise out of the way.... just as you are thinking about doing. Which is a good plan, if you tend to get too busy in the day and evening to fit it in. What helped me was conditioning my body to go to bed earlier. Rather than 11pm or later (I get up way too tired and want to hit snooze…

Thanks. I do the elliptical all the time (30 to 60 minutes tops). (30-45 if I am doing weights that day) There was a time when I did all Elliptical and not much weights. I lost but then I stalled. I would sometimes over do it .. 90min or more thinking I would lose more but it didn't work. I think that might be their…

Coconut Oil Extra Virgin Olive Oil Trader Joe's sells both. Do a search on the internet on what oils are good to cook with and for our dietary needs. Both of these you can cook with them, put it in your hair as a conditioner...and on your skin. Again, do some research on both of these oils.

The burpee is a full body exercise used in strength training and as aerobic exercise. It is performed in four steps, and was originally known as a "four-count Burpee": Begin in a standing position. Drop into a squat position with your hands on the ground. (count 1) Extend your feet back in one quick motion to assume the…

Thanks for sharing some great info. My story thus far: I first joined MFP appx 2 years ago. I was exercising at least 6 days per week (Elliptical and weights) but was eating about 1200-1300 daily for about 1.5 years prior to joining. My weight went from 218.5 - to appx 170, and I was OH so happy to see the weight…

Try Basmati Brown Rice. Nutty Flavor. Goes well with everything I have tried it with. Have been eating either Basmati or Jasmine Brown Rice for about 5 years. You can get it at Trader Joe's or your local grocer. To me, Uncle Ben's Brown rise is rather flat and not as tasty. Also agree with others saying that "never" word.…

This was great info, but yes, a lot of the responses had me a bit puzzled. 5 days at the same weight is not a plateau..... ...... So true. ....many will come back and say "I started eating more calories after doing the calculations for my body weight/height/gender and after eating the correct amount of calories for 1 week,…

ensure you are eating every 3 hours.... Within 15-30 min after your workout, have a protein shake w/ Unsweetened Almond Milk or Water. Add a dash of Cinnamon and 1/2 cup Blueberries if you wish. have an apple and a protein Shake with water as one of your meals. if you eat eggs for breakfast.. have 1 whole egg and at least…

Actually muscle does not weigh more than fat as most say. If you put 1 lb of muscle on a scale and 1 lb of fat on a scale.. it will be 1 lb. Muscle is denser than fat... so 1lb of muscle in our bodies take up less space than 1 lb of fat.. that is the reason we can put on more weight (what the Scale reads) as we gain muscle…

Agree. Your body needs 3500 calories to add 1 lb and vice versa for shedding pounds. Many see the scale go up or down in a 1 day and feel they have lost or gain that 1 lb overnight. The body just doesn't work that way unless you engage in sports where you are burning that many calories per day... eg, Michael Phelps the…
