Iafter a few weeks of tracking my diet and fitness I realized I am always low on protein. I have researched the value of protein and decided to give protein shakes a go specifically gold standard whey products. Does anyone have experience with this. I am unsure if I need to take this more than once a day. Each packet contains 24 g protein. In addition I eat a lot of carbs, is it beneficial to cut my number of carbs down.

One last thing

Do you create a cheat day or special treat for meeting a goal. I always crave energy drinks, would love one every once in a while

  • I always go over my allowed protein intake everyday....not sure if this has a detrimental affect on my weight or not!! I find that most of it comes from meat....are you vegetarian or vegan?
  • 1 to 1.5 gram of protein per lean body mass.. (google lean body mass calculators to get your number)

Rough Example: if your goal is to get down to 140 lbs, with approx 116 of that is LBM.. then you should intake about 116 - 140 grams of protein per day.

adding 2 protein shakes as a snack along with your 3 balanced meals....you will get the protein you need daily.

try to eat your meals about 2.5 to 3 hours apart.

carry a plastic hand shaker with you (get if from GNC) and a bottle of cold water so you can mix your protein shake no matter where you are when it is snack time.

No. I'm not a big fan of meat though. I'm still new to learning about being healthy. From the research I've done people who consume whey protein have a little leverage when it comes to weight loss, but when to take it seems to be the issue.

Thank you for the reply. I will look into that.
