Stronglifts is IMO the best suited for new lifters. Uncomplicated. You will make good gains with SL for probably a year, give or take.

I would start by telling him about your black (or whatever race) great grandmother and how every once in a while you have a dark cousin.

They serve different functions. You'll have to pick which function you want. If you don't eat the calories anyway, I would probably go fitbit. What's the point in accurate accounting of calories you're not eating back?
-
No it's delicious. It's just calorie dense. Calorie dense =/= bad

Job satisfaction every day all day times a giggity-gillion.

1-2 weeks is not a plateau. Just stick closely to your calorie limit, and be sure to weigh and accurately record every bite you eat. Most likely it will resolve itself. Weight loss isn't linear, 1-2 weeks generally isn't anything to worry about yet. Changing your program every time you don't lose weight in the short term…

Do you have the ability to join a gym and start lifting some real weights? Weight lifting will allow you to reshape your body to whatever you want it to be.

I personally took great care to preserve muscle mass and try to lose primarily fat. Is that what you mean? Or are you talking about preferring to lose around my waist and not my boobs? Because that isn't really an option.
-
I know it can seem like a long time from this angle. :frown: For this reason, I usually suggest that people focus on healthy weight loss, 1-2lbs per week, and not stress so much about the final timeline. If you take that approach, in 28 weeks you will be very happy with your progress, even though you may not yet be…

If I was a vegan I would choose Almond or Coconut milk. I don't like the taste of soy milk and because I have thyroid disease, I prefer to choose non-soy options when it's feasible. Coconut milk is legitimately delicious. I would drink it way more often if it 1) had more protein and 2) was cheaper.

NO, it's not unhealthy. It's actually a bit debatable whether brown rice is 'healthier' at all. The 'antinutrients' (I know, it sounds made up but they're actually compounds that block nutrient absorption like phytic acid) in brown rice might actually make white rice come out on top for nutrient absorption. In the plus…

You might be a good candidate to try intermittent fasting. The basic concept is you eat all your meals within a limited window of time. This allows you to eat much bigger, more satisfying meals with your calorie allowance, and eat the bulk of your calories in the evening if you choose. Most people that practice it skip…

b/c the reviewers are also the people that sell the product. That's how MLM works- rope everyone in wants to try it in to selling it then everyone's motivated financially to saying how awesome the product is. Most probably don't even use it.
-
It's a bogus MLM product. Save your money, and the future hatred of your friends and family when you get roped in to selling it.
-
The answer is probably in your diary. Can you unlock it?
-
Yikes. Seems like that international roaming bit is going to be the sticking point. There's got to be options for people that live near the borders, right? I mean just as one example, I know lots of people commute between Detroit and Windsor daily to work. I have no idea what they do. Tmobile and Sprint get terrible…

You know what? If you feel happy with your body and want to maintain your physique as it is- then it already is maintenance worthy! It really doesn't matter what number it is. Whatever the number is, I can say from your pics that you appear to be well within the visual limits of what is 'healthy' for a woman. The only…

What an incredible story of triumph. Congratulations on your successes- in finding love, overcoming addiction, and losing the weight and getting a healthier, more active life. Incredible!

There is no good way to measure calories lifting. Especially since a good portion of the calories that are used happen over the next few days during recovery as your body repairs tissue. This is why I suggest just using the estimate MFP gives- for me at my weight, it's just under 200 cal/hr. It's not scientific, but it's…
-
It's not even that they overestimate- it's just that the relationship between HR and calories used by the HRM doesn't hold true at all for lifting. It's like trying to measuring volume with a scale. Sometimes you can measure volume (like of water-similar liquids because of consistent density) but scales don't actually…
-
I have found MFP's estimates to be accurate enough that they don't skew my predicted weight loss results over almost 2 years with eating back 100% of those calories. That's for lifting heavy. If you're doing circuit-style faster lifting you may be burning more calories and might do better with the circuit entry.

When did you start the adipex? Adipex is an appetite suppressant that is a derivative of amphetamine. If it's not even giving you the results you desire, I would get off it ASAP. It has dangerous side effects, can be addictive, and works less and less effectively the longer you take it so you have to take higher doses to…

What was your calorie limit before you transitioned to maintenance and what is it now? Are you/were you eating back exercise calories? What kind of exercise do you do? Age/height/weight?

OMG a year on crutches sounds like TORTURE. What specifically is wrong with your knee that can't be fixed? I would probably have beat the doctor with the crutches like 8 weeks in.

I bet you'll find yourself less and less mature the more time you spend on this site! Happens to all of us, regardless of age.

Mostly just bumping, better leave this one to the experts. But my initial thoughts are that your HR data from this instance are probably off because of being sick. It's extremely unlikely that you spent 18 minutes working at 92+% of your MHR and felt fine afterwards. That much anaerobic cardio would floor ANY athlete.…

Hard to say since I don't know anything about your plan, but a reasonable amount of time would be: 15-20 weeks for the first 30lb 15-20 weeks for the next 15lb 22 weeks for the last 11 so 1yr to 1.25 years for good, reasonable weight loss. It took me a year to lose 38. I'm very happy with that time and now I have been…
