  • I think most were shocked to read it. I personally would rather have overweight people reproducing than ignorant ones.
  • This. I would also begin to question her knowledge in other areas, especially if she is using her position to spread innacurate and unhealthy information. I fired my primary care doc last year for something similar. She was handing out her personal opinion disguised as professional medical advice. NOT cool and very, very…
  • Agreed. I consider myself very fortunate that I discovered the meanings of TDEE and BMR prior to starting this time around. I have lost all of weight slow and steady while not eating below 2000 or netting below my BMR and I feel great. That is not the best part though. The best part is that my relationship with food is…
  • Jillian Michael's Body Revolution was pretty easy on my knees and back, though I did modify some. It was also VERY effective!
  • Ohhh... This morning it was Emenim... Lose Yourself.
  • One thing to note is that the shakes are made with non organic soy (though I did hear they do not use GMO beans, which is good if it is true) and contains sucralose (splenda) as a sweetener. Soy can be a hormone disruptor when it is not fermented, especially for women. Be sure to research the ingredients and make an…
  • Does anyone have the site or a place where I can look at the ingredient list? I am intrigues, too!
  • Yes, exactly. Your body has ways of telling you when you are not feeding it properly. Especially if you are trying to work out, too.
  • I am with the others that say save your calories for the evening. I eat 4 meals per day and still save around 600 calories for an evening snack while I watch t.v or stalk Facebook. Popcorn, cheese and crackers with a mini cheesecake and sometimes I even have a second sweet snack. WIN! Of course it helps that I eat 2100…
  • Great advice!
  • I do not think one of us is "right" and the other "wrong". We simply have different views on an issue. People often do, so I thought I would offer my perspective as well as what we use as a fun and healthy alternative for the kids in my family. That way if she wants, Zumba mom can do Halloween with her kids, not have the…
  • Thanks! She is rather young, almost three, so it is failrly easy to avoid things we don't agree with for now. I will check this out for sure though as we have a lot of health food stores. We are fortunate to live in a bigger city that has great Halloween alternatives. We went to a healthy trick or treating event yesterday…
  • I think the problem is that generally we (Americans especially) celebrate most things (Holidays, Birthdays, Successes, you name it.. etc) with food. Food is delicious and it is nice to have treats every once and while, of course it is. My point was that the trick or treating and unhealthy candies to not have to be the…
  • I genuinly do not understand why most people (not you specifically) are convinced the fun has to include the candy and unhealthy treats though. We had a lot of fun at the healthy Halloween event yesterday. In fact, it is all my daughter has talked about. I think it is all in finding the alternatives.
  • We dont do a traditional Halloween. But, it is not because I don't want the temptation, but rather because we prefer noone in the family eat candy because of the ingredients. Luckily, there is a "healthy" trick or treating event in my city with treats for the kids that do not include artifical ingredients or high fructose…
  • I am with you totally on the protien powders. I sometimes feel like the odd one out on here because I refuse to use them, lol. On the weekends I make epic omlets, but my go to breakfast for the week are over night oats. 1/2 cup oats 1/2 cup coconut milk 1 TBS peanut butter 1 mashed up banana 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp…
  • My breakdown is below: 140 calories 11 Carbs 4 protien This is with graham crackers, Neufetchel cheese and Xylitol. Xylitol is an all naturan sweetener that is actually good for your teeth. I have also used Stevia, which was lower in calories and also very good. You can also reduce the measurements on the sugar, but I like…
  • Everyone feels differently about the importance or necessity of organics. Personally, my family eats all organic. Even if it means we have to pinch pennies elsewhere and cook all of our food. We are by no means rich, but we have made it a priority because we firmly believe that if you don't pay for it now in quality, non…
  • It looks like you have posted a LOT of health related threads in the past year. I would suggest seeing a Dr.
  • After researching some I decided to also stay around 72-91 grams per day and am building muscle. I am a clean eating almost vegetarian and I do not supplement with protien shakes at all. I think they are awesome for those that like them, but I am not at all convinced they are necessary. I feel REALLY good with my macros…
  • I agree. Someone eating at 1200 calories and working out that much on an elliptial likely isnt eating enough. 50 minutes on an elliptical would probably burn at least 500 calories for me, which would have me at a NET of 700 calories for the day IF I were on a 1200 calorie "diet". I accidentally followed a similar path and…
  • I am a workin mom and I break my workouts up, too. I do manage to get up earlier and get the bulk done in the am now, about 30 minutes. I then do another 15 on my break and sometimes more after my daughter goes to bed. It has worked for me so far, even for strength training. I do pushups and life weight with my daughter. I…
  • Wow, congrats!!! You look GREAT!!! I just finished and got similar results. I am totally shocked on the pushup thing, too. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this program. I will have to send you a FR. I am thinking of starting a lifting program after my week "off". Good luck! p.s - I am an Eat More to Weigh Less…
  • I started at 1200 back in Feb and quickly lost 7 pounds and then stalled completley. I had no idea I was not eating enough though until I started logging my food. Once I did I set my goal to 1570 and ate back every single calorie I burned. This put me at about 200-2200 on most days. I even still eat around 1900-2000 on my…
  • I recently quit working out in the evenings and my sleep has already improved. I was having insomnia 2-3 nights per week BAD. I was also over-doing it by working out in the morning AND at night, so I cannot blame it all on the evening workouts. Currently giving my body a much needed break and it is thanking me. Morning…
  • Like I said I went off the deep end and into completely crunchy territory food and lifestyle wise. I realize where I stand on these issues is not the standard consensus. Generally safe for human consumption is no longer good enough for me anymore. Basically, I try not to consume anything I would not feel comfortable giving…
  • A quick google inquiry lead to more research on my part, which promptly ended my 10 year love affair with diet coke. I immediatley started losing faster and feel much better than I did before. This filtered into the rest of my diet as well and I now am a clean organic eater. Not to mention I have more money to spend on…
  • I just finsihed on Friday and am taking a week off of everything but light cardio. I am eating at TDEE, too so this is a fun week for me! Then, I think I will be starting ChaLean Extreme. I am excited about building more muscle and really re-shaping my body. I do plan to come back to JMBR after though. Same as you, I dont…
  • you would eat the 1750, period. Do not eat back exercise calories because they are already accounted for. I still log my workouts because I like to track them, so my NET will change day to day. I just make sure never to NET below BMR, which sometime means I can eat more if I have a REALLY big burn. Hope that helps!!
