  • Wowza, congrats!!! I will be your friend!
  • I had this problem a lot until I started my hypnobabies program. Before I got pregnant I had insomnia and used a FREE app called Relax Completely by Darrin Marks. They have it on android and iphone. It may be worth a shot since it is no cost. It really helped me to fall asleep or back asleep if I woke up. Good luck. I hope…
  • Not to mention she appears to be genetically blessed and on the very petite side.
  • I agree that your health and fitness sound good now. Those two factors will work heavily in your favor and make your pregnancy easier even if you are overwight. I think the deciding factor would be time and if you are willing to wait a little while to TTC. I was in the same predicament before getting pregnant this time. I…
  • If I do not do 20 minutes of stretching at least once per day (preferably twice) I have all of the symptoms you are describing. I also have a back injury, so I know that factors in. I missed a few stretching sessions in the evening and was barely able to do the elliptical the next morning due to hip and ligament pain. I am…
  • Some good advice up there! I also use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar up to three times per day for water retention, amond other things. It is amazing stuff. They also taught us to do ankle rotations and a windshield wiper motion with your feet when you are sitting down. It helps get the blood flow and fluids moving in your…
  • I ate maintenence for the first trimester (2150 calories). I was easily maintaining my goal weight at that calorie goal, so I am pretty confident the numbers were good. I increased to 2250 for the second and am at 2350 now in the third. I am within the normal range for weight gain and feel great energy wise, so I think I…
  • Luckily, I ate a lot like a pregnant women before I concieved and so it was an easy transition for me. hehe Even luckier is the 2350 I get in calories per day, even if it sometimes doesn't seem like enough!
  • This is an awesome video!! I do believe we influence the baby very much by the quality and qauntity of our diets. It makes me wish I could go back and do it differently with my last pregnancy. I think it is important to note that according to the research she refers to, you can affect you and the baby's future health by…
  • I concur! My lowest calorie goal when losing was 1800-1900 per day. In fact, I lost 36 pounds eating that much! I don't do very well when I am hungry, lol.
  • I found this site to be helpful for calorie needs when preggo. I am 32 weeks and eating 2350 per day. I was maintaining my goal weight at 2100 when I got pregnant. I fall right in the middle of a normal gain for pregnancy, so it has worked pretty well and I feel GREAT. Good luck!…
  • All GREAT advice! I would also be pumping after feedings to stimulate production. :)
  • I would personally add some back in. Even if it does not help with weight loss, it would help with supply. Good luck!! How wonderful that you are relactating. I know a couple of people that had success with it. :)
  • You are amazing and sooo inspirational. It is an honor to have you on my friends list, sir. You said this perfectly!!! Keep fighting the good fight and rocking like you do, everyday! p.s - I still love the bikini top picture. Absolute hilarity. p.s.s - I am totally married and pregnant, but you should know you are smoking…
  • 56 days until the due date, but I could end up tacking up to 14 onto that if the little bugger decides to sit tight. I really hope he comes sooner rather than later, that's for sure! I want to complain about my aches and pains, but they really aren't that bad. I try to remind myself that my pregnancy with my daughter was…

  • You know, I used to do a ton on netflix, but have been sticking to Hulu since I found a quick one I like. I will check back on my queue tonight and let you know. I do wonder if they removed them.
  • I third youtube. You can also check out Netflix and Hulu. Hulu has a great Gaiam workout that is only 17 minutes. I do it most nights and it has really helped my back.
  • I plan on making my own with cottage cheese, nut butters, banana, hemp seeds and flax seed with milk. A lot of protien powders do contain ingredients that are suspicious as well as artificial sugars. These are way better and easy to put together.
  • I personally do not worry about sugar at all and quit tracking it because I ALWAYS went over. I eat very little processed foods or sugar, so it is all from fruit. I don't worry much about the sugar from fruit. I also have the same philosphy on fat. Fat from healthy sources I do not worry about and I even feel more…
  • Good luck!! Oats worked wonders for me when I was nursing!!
  • To be honest, I nursed or rocked her to sleep until the bedtime routine really started to work. It took a month or so, but soon she would start yawning towards the end of the routine and I would snuggle with her for less than 2 minutes and she was out. That is still the case today. We do our bedtime routine (teeth, pj's,…
  • This is tough call and individual to each family. My husband and I actually did not agree on this part of parenting at all and really fought t his one out.. He wanted to let her "cry it out" and I did not. He ended up doing it once when I was out and it did not work and just made him feel bad, so we never did it again. We…
  • I do one tablespoon in water every night. If I feel bad or am having symtoms I will do it up to three times per day. You can also do it with juice. I usually take my prenatals a few hours apart. The probiotics I am using are Natren Life Start. They are specifically for pregnant, nursing moms and infants. They help with all…
  • There are some good yoga moves for heartburn. http://www.omformom.com/1/post/2011/04/prenatal-yoga-and-heartburn.html You can also look them up on youtube for a good video example. Another thing that has worked wonders for me is Braggs Apple Cider vinegar. It works like a charm! I would also recommend priobiotics. Between…

  • A friend shared this with me yesterday. Great article!
  • Oh, that is horrible!! I am so sorry to hear that!! Did they know that it was the name you had chosen? If not, are you especially close to this person? Depending I would still use the name. :(
  • I have read of people VBACing closely after a C-section. You will need to find a supportive care provider though. That is often the determining factor. Have you checked out ICAN online? They even have local groups on Facebook and the ladies there were instrumental on helping me find the right birth place.
  • I second this, too. I could easily eat well over 2500 calories per day sometimes!! I also work a completely sedentary desk job, but workout often. I also have a toddler, so my life outside of work is anything but sedentary. I always choose the higher activity level based on those things.
