I think both are very important, especially during pregnancy. I personally think the lifting is helping me the most, but I do make sure to get in at least 30 minutes of cardio pretty much every day. I am 24 weeks today and following a three day split very similar to what Jaime Eason does on her Livefit program. I have not…

I sent you a request! 24 weeks here. :)

Awesome, thanks! Super Stretch is also a great and FREE app that smaller children love. :)

I am with you. There have to be a multitude of reasons most animals do this, so there has to be something to it. All of the research I have done sounds promising and as someone who suffered with PPD after my last baby, I am willing to do whatever I can to prevent it this time. Even if it doesn't "work", the placebo effect…

kellymom.com is a GREAT resource! My daughter did not latch at all for 8 weeks, so I am not sure how much I can help with a poor latch. We ended up having to use a nipple shield and then wean off of that. Maybe you could try usuing your nipple to get her mouth open wider by pushing down when you insert it... if that makes…

I held onto weight while nursing, but only until about 18 months in. After that it was a lot easier to lose, even though she was still nursing. I found the insatiable hunger with breastfeeding to be my nemisis though and I am sure thats why I did not lose. That and I did not work out at all. I am looking forward to seeing…

Awesome to "meet" some oher hypnomoms!! It is great to hear from someone who has been there, too. I am pretty confident it will all work out, but I am switching providers at 22 weeks to help make it a reality. Luckily, I live in a large city so finding a VBAC supportive doc is a bit more possible, though still harder than…

You could start now, but I would get it right away and start immediatley. The longer you practice, the better it works, but you should have plenty of time for maintenence and practicing the techniques. It seems very comprehensive and much cheaper than taking a class for it or the Bradley method. Those classes in my area…

Here is some more info. You can also Google or look on the Mothering.com forums for the experiences others have had. I have seen a a LOT of claims of a painless child birth. I am in no way expecting that, but like I said they have already proved to be worth thier weight in gold! The program consists of a great birthing…

I have been an insomniac for years and couldn't believe how well a hypnosis app worked for me a few months ago, so Hypnobabies seemed a logical decision for me. I am so glad I sprung for it! It has a full birthing class to study at home, too. That has been awesome for my husband to learn the ins and outs of birth and all…

I have struggled with this a bit. I reached goal about 5 months before getting pregnant and was in the best shape I have been in since I was a chearleader in early high school! I am still busting out the same workouts everyday, but not getting the constant reward of positive body changes that I was before. My measurments…

I started taking my prenatal at night and doing 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vingegar from Braggs every night and it helped a lot. It went completely away after I started probiotics though.

I am currenlty taking a food based prenatal, DHA, High potency garlic (2x per day), Vitamin C and three different types of probiotics. I will be using echinacea closer to my due date for the GBS if I am still positive. I also use Apple cider vinegar every day to help with allergies and water retention. I also plan to start…

I used to LOVE WW and the support they offered at the meetings, but I was easily able to replace that with MFP by befriending a lot of like minded people and using the them and the site for accountability. It saves a ton of money! I also learned that I can lose basically the same amount of weight eating at a small cut from…

I plan to continue to log everything as best I can with no break. I normally would consider a break, but I did not have much of an appetitie for the week or so after my daughter was born and looking back I am sure I did not eat enough or consume the right things. For me, continuing to log may help me to ensure I am eating…

Cool! I will have to check this one out! Thanks!

I hope you test negative, too! I was negative my last pregnany and was blindsided by the diagnoses this time and it is very stressful!! I am hoping the garlic works it's magic. I have another urinalysis on Thursday, so we will see. My ultimate goal is to avoid antibiotics in labor, but I am not sure I will be able to get…

It is very possible, but only likely if you find a very supportive czre provider. They are out there!! Your risks would not be much more than a VBAC after one C-section and in my personal opinion, still safer than a repeat C section.

I lost all my weight (36 pounds) and got to goal never really eating below 2,000. I always netted at least 1550-1600, which is above my BMR. I am now pregnant, so I get to eat even more and my body is handling all of the adjustments really well. I credit eating more and lifting heavy for how well I was able to transition…

Your story sounds similar to mine, but my goal weight was higher. I am at 20 weeks and up 10 or 11 pounds. The last two weeks I gained 2 pounds each. I have a very similar workout scheudle to you and eat almost completely "clean". I am assuming this is what my body needs to do. I am still much better off than I was my last…

We really have a very long way to go in this area. In my opinion we are failing mothers and families by not having any real maternity leave policy. Here you are LUCKY to get 12 weeks, beyond that you have no job protection and you only get that if your company qualifies for FMLA. The worst part is that in this economy it…

Close, I am October 15th!

I thought I would chime in with something that helped me with severe insomina before I got pregnant. I had months waking early, just like you, and also had a hard time falling asleep. I tried medications (and wine!), but nothing was really helping. I got desperate and searched for apps on my iPad and found Darren Marks,…

You also might be able to find a doula in training that is free or only has a small fee. Check your local mommy groups and ICAN chapters. they are out there!

Oh, that is just horrible!!! I hope you can figure out a way to straighten her out because she will likely get worse and try to walk all over you after the baby is born! My fathers wife was like this and it was a painful experience having to enforce boundaries with her AFTER the baby was here. I hope it gets better!

I have this issue and they were actually distracting me when doing reps. I took to wearing workout tops with a print on them. Problem solved.

You were probably positive on the swab test, right? Mine showed in the urine in early pregnancy, which means I am a heavy colonizer and am at an increased risk. It is up to the OB and thier personal philosophy on if they give you meds while pregnant or not. The US does not have an "official" policy on treating asymptomatic…

I am in the process of preparing for a VBAC myself, so I hope to have a success story for you in October! I second the advice to hire a doula, preferably one with VBAC experience. I would also consider taking a birthing class and research, research, research. Find a doc that is supportive of VBAC that delivers at a VBAC…

I think most people would understand and be supportive, but there is something to be said for having other preggo friends. So far, I have a pretty good mix of both and quite a few people that post epic workouts every day. I keep them around though because I like them and they motivate me. I am also hoping they will all…

Thanks guys!! I just ordered some garlic supplements and will be using fresh organic garlic in most of our meals. I also plan on doing echinacea for a couple weeks prior to my due date. A plus out of all of this is I came to realize how AWESOME probiotics are. All my tummy issues were gone in a flash, so that was nice. My…
