HI - I, too, joined in April 2012. I lost about 20 pounds between April and September, then, back to teaching, stopped tracking on MFP. Now, with the holidays over, I'm back up a few pounds. Current weight 153 Goal 140-145 My struggle is to make the time to track the food, go to the gym, take care of my family, and do my…

Being a good role model about health and fitness-- well, a better one that I have been to date -- for my sons. And, I'd like to live a long, healthy life so I can watch them through college, falling in love, and, if they choose, marriage and children. I had them when I was 32, and they are 15 now (twins). And, I really…

Only 9 Miles this week, bringing me to 34 for the month. But...I ran 5.6 miles today -- my longest distance yet. (A big NSV for me)

August 5 through August 11: 16.25 miles Total August 1 - 12: 25 Miles.

Off to a slow start. August 1 - 5: 8.75 Miles

I'm trying to figure out how this will work when school begins again; I'm a teacher. Right now, I have the luxury of unstructured summer days. In two weeks, I'll be back to working from 7AM until 6PM most days (plus bringing work home with me). I think the only way possible is to get up at 4:30 to hit the gym before the…

I'm in for 50 miles in August. I'd increase my mileage, but with school starting again (I'm a teacher), I'm anxious about adding miles. I'm going to have to work my running schedule around the school schedule, which may take some adjustment. Thanks!

I need to revise my numbers. The path I was running while on vacation was shorter that I thought. So here are my new numbers: July 1 - July 8 -- 11.5 miles July 9 - July 15 -- 12.5 miles July 16 - July 22 -- 12.5 miles July 23 - July 29 -- 12.75 Month to date: 49.25. I'm looking forward to finishing over my goal for the…

First -- congratulations! I remember (because it wasn't that long ago) what it feels like when you reach that goal for the first time. Second -- what does NSV mean??

Was away on vacation this weekend, but managed to log my longest run yet -- 4.8 miles. Total for 7/16 to 7/22 = 15.2 miles. Total for 7/1 - 7/22 = 39.2 miles.

Had a little trouble with motivation this week, but here's what I accomplished: July 9 through 15 -- 12.5 Miles Total to date: 24 miles. 16 days and 26 miles to go...I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

We pay around $60 for a membership at Snap Fitness for our family. Check to see if your health insurance will cover some of the fees. Our insurance plan has an agreement with Snap that covered the enrollment fee and gives us a slight monthly discount. (Now if I could only get my husband to go to the gym...)

Sorry this is late. My total for July 1-8 is 11.5 miles. 3 months ago I never would have imagined doing that much running in a week. :-)

May I join? My goal is 50 miles. 7/1 -- 2.5 miles 7/3 -- 1.75 miles

It also helps to remember that the people passing you in cars are driving to their destination -- you are running to yours. They may get there faster, but you'll get there healthier (and probably happier). If you are panting and purple, you've earned it; that's a GOOD thing. I find that it helps to run early in the…

You're moving faster than you would be sitting on a couch. (That's what I remind myself.)
