Not really, but they are worth it. I cook mine on the stovetop and add cinnamon and dried cranberries at the end. I did a google search last night for steel cut oats and found a page about cooking them in a crock pot. Probably would be worth trying if you didn't want it on the stove top for too long. Good luck!

I am a high school teacher. I listed myself as lightly active. I think in the summer I should have changed it, to the lowest level...but I've tried to exercise a lot to deal with that. I think it depends on the grade...but they say nurse is lightly active and I am up and about as much if not more than your average nurse.…

Good point. Also you can take a bike you are thinking about purchasing to any good bike shop and they will evaluate it for you. This is very, very important, and worth the small fee they may or may not charge. And yes, gender specific padded shorts are a must!

The key is to get a good bike. You can usually find good deals on Craigslist. Then take it to a local bike shop and have them fit it for you. Having the right fit is key to good excersize.
