You are truly amazing! I am so happy for you. I'd say meeting Jackie was definitely a turning point for you and agree that knowing her has saved your life. I'm sure it does feel like a dream. It takes the mind some time to catch up to the body but it is real. Enjoy every minute. You are an inspiration to so many. Thank you…

Seems counterproductive to me too, sounds like disordered eating. "Do not reward yourself with food. You're not a dog."
-
Um, please start eating dinner every day.

For the HRMs don't know crap comment... Heart rate monitors are not "crap". They are way more accurate than MFP (which has no idea about the intensity of your workout). MFP uses and average number and we are all very different. Those who are less fit will have a higher calorie burn than a more fit partner doing the exact…

I LOVE this!!

I have been where you are. I had gained so much weight I began to think only surgery would help. I felt like this mountain was to big to climb and I'd never be able to successfully lose the weight. Believe it or not, if you want it badly enough, really truly want to lose the weight, you can ABSOLUTELY do it! You didn't…

If you hate starting over, stop quitting.

Exactly!

I suck at uploading photos to this site but here's another one. "I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday."

You look fabulous! Keep up the good work.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time. I'm sure what happened feels bad and clearly you feel guilt about it. The good news is, you're reaching out and asking for support. We have ALL faced similar challenges at one time or another so we get it. It sounds like you know what your hurdles are. Long days, under eating…

That totally counts! This battle is won in small victories. Recommitting to it everyday and making the right choice over and over. Sometimes it's day by day and sometimes hour by hour. I love those bars! It's my afternoon snack every day with a cup of tea. Satisfies that sweet tooth. Great NSV!

Thanks! I agree, he totally rocks!

Title Nine is a women's clothing company. They sell casual and athletic wear (Eddie Bauer meets Lu Lu Lemon?). Their catalog features regular women who are VERY healthy, fit and have active lifestyles (not skinny and underweight) When it arrives in the mail I love seeing their "models" featured on bikes, with surf boards…

I too am an RN and saw through it pretty quickly. There's something to said for the value of Registered health professionals which that person obviously is not. haha

Many people are unaware that any lay person can call themselves a "Nutritionist". There is no certification or regulating governing body for "nutritionists". You can have ZERO training or education and sell yourself as a nutritionist. I would only take nutritional advice seriously if it came from a highly educated,…

I love reading All of these NSVs! Everyone is doing an amazing job. Mine is that I have put so many miles on my hiking boots that in 6 months I have worn them out completely. Just got a new pair to hike off the last 36 lbs!

I have changed/customized my settngs. MFP had too many carbs (for me personally) and 1200 calories/day is not enough for most people. Well not anyone who's active anyway.

Agreed. I think writing this post is your ah-ha moment. There are so many great responses here. One of the best things you can do for your daughter is take care of YOU. Love and care for yourself. You are worth the effort. What a great role model you will be for her. She will respect you and be proud of you no matter how…

Yay for you! Plateaus totally suck but it's behind you now and soon you will be in One-derland ;) Looking fabulous by the way so keep up the good work.

When it comes to weight loss and weight gain it's pretty simple. The body takes what it needs to function and survive and stores the excess a fat for later. If you are spending more energy (calories) than you are consuming, provided you are not starving your body, the deficit will result in weight loss. Are you journaling…
