I have been stalling on my lifts since the 'newbie-gains' ran out...hadn't thought of treating it as a bulk! Thinking of it like that would help keep me on track protein wise (and therefore slightly reducing the crap!)... Maybe just having a few days break from logging will be enough-I'm sure as soon as the lbs start going…

Thanks for all the replies and the advise. Until this time yesterday I was fully intending on logging at maintenance, as I have a bad habit of getting over excited when I give myself free reign! But the problem seems to be more of a mental thing... I am getting too obsessed with food and I just need a break from thinking…

Massive well done!We have almost the same stats so can defo agree with all of this! Even though it's been so slow, this is the longest I've stuck at it and the first time I have really believed I will get to my goal :) Ive lost 9 pounds in 70 days logging (longer just lifting), and dropped over 3% bf :) slow and steady!
-
:) this is why I love mfp haha!
-
Thanks :)

Had all my measurements done for a reassessment at the gym...managed to lose 3% body fat and a few inches in 2 months :) officially no longer in the 'fat' category for bf%!
-
From what I saw at the gym today, all you need to do is spend 40 minutes congratulating your bro' on doing his bicep curls in the squat rack. Well atleast I hope their legs grew 'cause mine had to miss their workout! Grrrrr.

I know I posted this a while back, but I'm now needing the tips more than ever! I promised to give myself a month of sticking to my calories (ie no nights out, puddings only if they fitted in etc) but lo and behold I'm here 3 weeks later having not logged for a week and feeling like I'm never gonna be able to make this…

I'm hitting around 60-80g at the moment, and thats incl eating a couple of hard boiled eggs as snacks and having tuna or chicken for lunch. I hadn't thought about greek yoghurt-might have to see what that tastes like with porridge tommorow!

I just wanted to say thanks for all the tips on getting the correct trainer...it finally happened! Found a female PT who is super excited to have a girl who wants to train properly :) She's so excited shes even been helping in her free time etc!
-
Thanks for the quick responses :) Don't worry, not hating! I've only been taking the training seriously for a week and know from friends that its a pain to get decent powder so want to have something in place for now before I invest. Reading back, I think I explained myself wrong :) I know that it will always be easier to…

I want to be one of these people so bad! Have been trying to get into weight training for months but am constantly being pressurised by trainers at the gym (I've changed 3 times now, all the same) that I should stick to high reps and low weights to 'get toned'. I am so sick of being told it that yesterday I made one of…

I like the idea of washing up/putting away what I'm eating! And maybe brushing my teeth after I've eaten my daily cals will work in putting me off the evening snacks haha :) But you are definitely right, by 'being good' during the week, if I have one moment of weakness I then just throw the towel in. I'm starting logging…

Haha I wish tht was true-I alwaaaaaays eat the whole cake!! But I know its got to be a change for good but eating stuff like that at the moment is too hard for me. 1600 was around my tdee-20% but I have tried a number of different cals ranging from 1200-1800 and none have worked so far :( have upped my protein and reduced…
-
Exactly :) Cut back a bit and it didn't change much apart from having more free time in the evenings!
-
Yeah, I stopped logging when I moved back home as no longer knew what was going into evening meals. I know my calories for the rest of the day (eat same breakie/similar lunch most week days) however. I'm going to start cooking more again so will probably start logging again then. However, I was always rubbish with logging…

I don't want to be one of the 'know it alls' on here who refuses to take advice...But I didn't eat back my exercise cals (used TDEE -20% instead) and weighed all my food before I cooked it etc. This is why I have lost control over my food at home...Can't weigh out ingredients for 1/4 of a meal I haven't cooked!
-
This is my point-I don't know if I do know what the problem is! Even after those 6 months my BF% was ridiculously high :( And I didn't lose any inches. ANYWHERE.
-
Thanks for the support guys! I know I don't want to give up completely, but I have too many things at the moment where I can't track calories (leaving a job=meals out, holiday for 2 weeks etc) meaning i feel like there's no point! I'm also moving away from a great gym which means my exercise is gonna drop off massively...…

This!!! Defo me last night as I tried on my entire wardrobe! On another note, Dressing like you feel good sounds like a good idea actually! That way if its all in your head at least everyone else gets to see the nice dress haha :)
-
I defo agree on the first bit, except for in this case cos I'm going out! There will be photos and I don't wanna feel minging all night! Maybe a new black dress is needed.....Haha SHOPPING!
-
Hahaha thanks for the varied responses guys! But think I explained myself wrong... surely you must have those days where everything just looks PANTS, and no matter what anyone says to you, your arms/legs/stomach all just look like you're at a fairground mirror?! I wish there were magic clothes for these days!!!

Levi Bold Curve! They have a bit of stretch in them to get over the bigger bits but sit right on the waist. If you go to a levi store they measure you too :)

As I said, I wish my friends were all still dedicated to MFP+gym, as it used to mean we could do both (socialise and gym) without problems, but the naturally slim people I know seem to have less motivation than me :P I agree on the excuses front. When I said "find reasons that I can't go out", they are still valid,…

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great replies :) in the end this evening went ok as I went for pudding with them...so did half my normal gym and had healthy dinner, but still got to have fun and all within my daily calorie goals! I think your all right on the advanced planning though, as this would mean i could…

Thank you so much for the advice! Especially those reminding me that its my choice not my friends! In terms of the jealousy, its not that. I am the biggest in my group of friends by a long way (both in height and weight), and we did all used to go to the gym together. However, now they have 'got a bit bored' as they didn't…

Exactly this! I already allow myself to relax at weekends as I find if I don't exercise, I'm also less motivated with my nutrition (hence the planned calorie cycling allowing for the weekend). So I feel like, if I miss a whole extra healthy day during the week I'm a complete failure! I might try the 'extra workout' tip…
-
Thanks for the replies-if I could get up early I would but I'm rubbish haha! Also thanks for the link, although I think my problem is slightly different in a way. Its not that they try to force me to eat unhealthily when I'm out, its more that I just don't have the time to go out! I thought going for drinks today would…

I agree that in a way, it is MFP that puts this number in peoples minds. Before I had the App, I would never have considered that a sane number! However, I still aim for this some days, as I try to calorie cycle to average out and get to my TDEE -20% (about 1700). So because I often struggle to be good at weekends, I aim…

Ok, as an extension to this idea, could you include Intermittent Fasting as a means of ensure calories are fully varied but end up at TDEE - 20% for the week? So an example week could be: M 500 T 1200 W 1200 T 500 F 2000 S 3000 S 2500 Daily average = 1557 (which is just under my TDEE - 20%)
