  • I'm 4'11", so I know what you mean when you say a little weight looks like a lot on us. But the good news is, we only have to lose a little to look absolutely fabulous. You can do it!!!
  • I tried this yesterday, but used chocolate pudding instead of cream/Greek yogurt. It was pretty good, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't spectacular. It was a bit too eggy to pass for a brownie. But the chocolate flavor was incredible. I shamelessly licked the batter bowl clean. I'll be making this again, but play with the…
  • Top 5 vegetables 1) asparagus 2) butternut squash 3) broccoli 4) bell peppers 5) mushrooms Honorable mention: zucchini Top 5 fruits 1) pineapple! Best. Fruit. Ever. 2) canteloupe 3) strawberries 4) Honeycrisp apples 5) bananas
  • I use diet drinks to cook my oats in. Aldi sells a calorie free cranberry juice that goes really well with craisins and cashews. I'll also use diet soda to add flavor and sweetness. It takes about a can and a half to cook 3/4 cup of oatmeal.
  • Ooo, substituting the Molly McButter with popcorn seasoning sounds like a really good idea. Inner it would work well.
  • Yes! I used to be cold all the time!! It wasn't a cold intolerance normal either. It was horrible and debilitating. I would have to wear a winter coat indoors. Going outside in the winter was painful, even if it a couple degrees above freezing (I live in the suburbs of Chicago. Anything above freezing is warm in winter). I…
  • This!!! But to answer your question: there may be some merit to this. The reddish liquid that seeps out of red meat is not blood, but is basically protein water. More of this liquid seeps out of a well done steak than a medium rare steak. However, I don't know the amount of protein this liquid contains. Since its so…
  • Greek yogurt with fruit. It's a nice sweet treat with a lot of protein to fill you up.
  • I weigh 105 lbs. I am 4'11", and people tell me that I am skinny, so I think that your goal is unreasonable. In fact, I would recommend throwing away your scale. You're not counting calories so that you can hit a number on a scale, you're wanting to be able to look in the mirror and like what you see. That's not easy for…

  • I love dipping fruit in sugar free pudding. The pudding cups are only 60 calories. 100 grams of strawberries (usually 6-7 strawberries, depending on size) dipped in one pudding cup is under 100 calories. If I have a few more calories to spare, I'll dip a banana in there instead. Also, dipping apple slices in a caramel or…
  • I second this. Sometimes whoever created the food didnt bother to add the iron. I would double check just to be sure. Also, there's nothing wrong with taking a supplement.
  • I love jerky! I make my own, because the stuff at the supermarket is so expensive. I make turkey jerky, but it's basically the same in macros as beef jerky. I find that jerky is the best way to get the most protein for the fewest calories. Fat free Greek yogurt and egg whites have about the same ratio of protein to…
  • Ooo, those sound really good. I think chicken would go great with those chutneys. I also think the mango lime chutney would pair very well with grilles shrimp. The autumn fruit chutney could be paired with baked apple chips. You could probably not even go through the effort of baking/buying apple chips, and just slice up…
  • What kind of chutney is it? It's my understanding that chutney is a pretty broad term. Perhaps chicken tenders? If you're watching calories they can be baked, without and breading. Or, if you're looking for something that can pass as something carb-y, oopsie rolls could be used like a flat-bread. They won't fool anyone…
  • I've made black bean brownies. They tasted pretty good, and definitely satisfied my brownie craving, but whatever you decide to make with beans, eat it in moderation, at least at first. I say this because the brownies were low cal, and so I ate the entire pan. It was delicious, but the next day I was blowing toxic fumes…
  • Have you tried spaghetti squash? The same thing happened to me. I ate a salad for lunch everyday for waaay too long. There are only so many combinations. So, instead of using lettuce as a base, I used spaghetti squash. The veggies and proteins that you would have added to a salad you can cook up and add to the squash.…
  • I love that book! It was such and enjoyable read, although I have yet to drop it in a bathtub. I also thought about Walden Farms while reading. But wasn't it Famine's line of food, not Crowleys? Maybe I'm mistaken though.
  • My favorite dress doesn't fit anymore :(
  • Hmmmm...you're right, something seems off about the packaging. According to the USDA nutrition database, 75 grams of raw rice will have 270-280 calories, depending on the type. The calorie count the box gives you is way off. Go by what the USDA says. It's just rice, and so there will be negligible (if any) difference in…
  • That's why you log the food you eat. Take a look at your macros. MFP will tell you on your diary if you are hitting your macros or not. Of you are, yay! Keep it up. If you're not, make adjustments, whether that be cutting out the nuts, or cutting out another high fat food in your diary.
  • This. So. Much. Fiber. Also, kashi Go Lean original has 10 grams of fiber per cup (and 13 grams of protein!)
  • Add some sweetness! Plain sugar will dissolve in almond milk, as will other artificial sweeteners.
  • I make my own turkey jerky in the oven. I use ground meat, combine it with seasonings, form them into flat sticks, and then bake it in a 170 degree convection oven (that's the lowest my oven goes. The lower the temp, the better. An actual dehydrator is ideal though). I also open the oven door every half hour or so to allow…
  • Use chicken broth/stock. It will keep your veggies from sticking, and give them some really good flavor. Just pour a little bit in the pan, enough to coat the veggies, and start cooking. id the beggies start sticking, add some more stock. If you're watching your sodium, there Are reduced salt and even salt free broths that…
  • A cheat day isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as you stay under your calorie goal for the week Go to the "reports" tag and check out your weekly net calories. If you long everything on your gc eat day (which you should be doing) it will tell you How much you are under for the week.
  • Is this something that happens every night? If so, try adding a snack right before bed time. However, if this is the first time it's happened, it may just be a fluke. Also, eating at the same time everyday will help your body manage hunger better, because it can get into a rhythm and "know" when the next meal is coming.…
  • Nope, that's just for the meat. Weights are given for the edible part of the food, unless otherwise stated.
