  • Walden Farms calorie free "peanut butter". I put the words peanut butter in quotes because whatever Walden Farms puts in that jar is not, by any means, even distantly related to peanut butter. I don't have very discerning tastes, but it should be illegal to call that sludge peanut butter.
  • I don't know why a nutritionist would be telling you to eat below your BMR. That's the absolute minimum amount of calories your body needs to function, and anything below that is not sustainable (and frankly, it's just not fun to eat that little) You should be eating above your BMR, but below your TDEE. 17lbs isn't that…
  • Thank you everyone for the replies! I might just have to buy more tofu to make all this! I was acctually wanting to try the "broccamoli" recipe.
  • I know! I love fruits. I really do. And they can be marvelous as an ingredient in dessert recipes. Strawberry cheesecake? Yum! Bananas and chocolate? Sign me up! But just plain fruit? Nuh uh.
  • I made them with old fashioned rolled oats, and I managed to make them turn out fine. I did notice thought at when I mixed the banana and oats together, the oats didn't absorb much of the banana, so I heated it in the microwave (at a 1/3 power. Not hot enough to cook anything, just enough to make it toasty warm) and then…
  • Simple is best! i love the taste of roasted butternut squash. Peel, cut into cubes, and toss with a little oil, salt, and pepper. Place in a baking dish and throw it in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, and enjoy. You can also use other seasonings to spice it up. One of my favorite spice blends is called…
  • Mysterious Skin. I knew what it was about before I even watched it, but by the end of the film I was curled under my comforter with drying tear tracks down my face. That movie left me feeling depressed for a couple days
  • Cooking oatmeal in water has no effect on the calorie content. What could effect your measurements are your cooking techniques and your measuring cups. Do you have a food scale? If not, I would recommend investing in one. You can get "the biggest loser" brand for a little under 20 bucks, and it works very well. The reason…
  • I've made these before and they are good. They're not bread and they won't fool anyone into thinking they're bread, but they do the job of bread perfectly, and they taste good in their own rights. I am a fan of them.
  • Adding healthy fats is a good way to rack up the calories. For example Peanut butter (you will hve just about everyone tell you this). Two tablespoons is about 190 calories. Other nuts are high in calories two. An ounce of walnuts is 180 calories. Add avacado to your salad. Make your own salad dressing with olive oil and…
  • Yes, you can do that. I'm currently at maintenance, and I look at my weekly summary. I eat whatever calories I'm under.
  • Really? That's great news! I know that Supernatural is an old show that only has one or two more seasons left in it, but I'm glad it'll be back for another year. I just hope the writers decide to end it on their own terms before it gets cancelled. I'd hate for such an epic story to be cut short. Sam and Dean deserve a well…
  • Plain Greek yogurt. You can add a little artificial sweetener and cinnamon/flavor extracts. For extra flavor I like adding either crystal light drink packages or sugar free jello mix. Duncan Heinz makes powdered flavor packets for frosting which I will also add for flavor (although it doesn't contain a sweetener, so you'll…
  • In what regards? Men, on average, are physically stronger than women. Women have the ability to grow another human being inside their body. Men are better than women at some things, just as women are better than men at others. I think it's very difficult to quantify the abilities that men have over women and vice versa.
  • 2 tbsp PB2 mixed with one single serve cup of sugar free chocolate pudding. OMG! Its so thick, creamy, and delicious. You can eat it just like that, but if you put it in the freezer for a bit, it hardens up like ice cream. You can also spread the chocolate peanut butter concoction on graham crackers and top it with sliced…
  • There's no problem with that. In fact, if you're really hungry the next couple days but have already reached your calorie goal for the day, you can borrow calories from the day you were under.
  • This looks delicious. I'm definitely going to try it.
  • -SQUASH!!!! 58 cents a pound, low calorie, and so tasty. My favorites are butternut and spaghetti -Fage fat free Greek yogurt. -Healthy life 80 calorie hamburger/hotdog buns -kashi go lean original cereal. Complete protein and fiber in a breakfast cereal. Can't ask for much more.
  • There's nothing wrong with eating different types of meat, except that sometimes they can be friggin hard to log! But nutritionally, eating different types of meat is okay,
  • Hold on...I'm confused now. I just re read your post and realized you ordered veal. I didn't think it would make much difference, but looked it up anyway. There's no option for tbone, but there is a sirloin entry. There are 296 calories on 9.5 ounces of raw veal sirloin. And then I looked up a different grade of t bone,…
  • I would look up " Beef, short loin, t-bone steak, separable lean and fat, trimmed to 1/8" fat, choice, raw". That's a USDA entry, so you know it's accurate. It only gives you the option of entering in grams, but it's easy enough to convert ounces to grams. I looked up what 9.5 ounces (269 grams) of steak would be and found…
  • I second this. I've never had a huge problem running with my boobs. When I first got into running, I was a 34D. Not exactly huge, but sometimes when I started my TOM they would be tender and any bouncing was painful. A well constructed, snug fitting cami with a shelf bra does wonders to help hold everything in. I also ride…
  • Yes, as long as you take nothing out and put nothing in. However, some of the almond butter will stick to the sides and blades of the processor, so after transferring it from the processor to whatever container you're keeping it in, you'll probably lose a couple grams.
  • Yes!!! I live stock and fresh herbs. Sometimes I'll use stock when pan cooking veggies or chicken instead of using oil. It keeps the food from sticking and gives it marvelous flavor, all for negligible calories. And as for fresh herbs...yes yes yes. I have rosemary, thyme, parsley, oregano, and basil growing in the garden.…
  • Oh my goodness yes! I love ketchup so much, to the point where it's almost kinky. But 20 calories per tablespoon adds up when you use more than 1/4 cup at a time. Using a skimpy amount of ketchup is worse than not using it at all. I thank the artificial sweetener gods that Heinz has a reduced sugar ketchup. At only 5…
  • Why do you not want to use canola oil? It's actually pretty healthy. It has lower saturated fat than olive oil, as well as a lot of poly and mono unsaturated fat.
  • I have 1 or two pieces of gum a day, but I don't log it. Most if the calories are actually in the flavoring, so swallowing it doesn't change the calories much. Interestingly, I read a study that chewing gum actually helps you lose weight, because you burn more than five calories by chewing it. However this is only one…
  • Will you have access to a microwave? If so, stock up on cans of soup. Some are pretty low calorie, but still really tasty. Keep fruits like apples, oranges, and bananas handy.
  • How long has the almond milk pudding that you first made been sitting? I tried the same thing as you and had the same results for the first day. But I left it in the fridge because its chocolate and there was no way I was going to waste that, and oddly enough on the second day it had turned into pudding! You have to eat it…
  • It's not a silly question at all! But I'm in the opposite boat. I've been running for awhile now and can run for 6 miles straight, but my pace is only a little over 10 minutes per mile. I often wonder if I'm not pushing myself hard enough. When I run at that pace, my breathing is only moderately labored and my heart rate…
