  • Soup Plantation (called "Sweet Tomatoes" where I'm from) is good about having all their premade food (like soups, foccacias, and desserts" up on the nutrition portion of their website. You can find it with a google search. You're on your own for the salad bar and things that need to be scooped (abd hus arent preportioned)…
  • I created my name when I was 14, for a Lord of the Rings forum I joined. Originally it was Nauriel Rochnur, which if you dissect it into the elvish roots, means "fire maiden horse friend". I shortened it to NaurielR to make it easier to type out and remember. Yes, I'm a Lord of the Rings nerd. And no, I am not ashamed.
  • Look at my profile pic! :) I've been riding since I was 12. I'm 23 now. I haven't ridden since April, since I graduated from college (and thus am not on he equestrian team any more) and lessons are just too expensive. It's killing me! I have never gone this long without riding before. Fortunately I just got a job, so…
  • Your supper sounds very healthy, but when you talk about the food you ate afterwards, it sounds a lot like the stuff people want when suffering from cravings. Try eating low calorie, nutrient dense foods like vegetables. You can either cook them, or eat them raw with some Greek yogurt veggie dip. If you're not willing to…
  • Hmmm, okay. Do you know what brand the protein bar was? I'm curious. I would still check the label for sugar alcohols, because I'm betting that's what caused your bloating. Quest bars are great bars, and you can't beat the protein to calorie ratio. But all flavors except the chocolate brownie have sugar alcohols (if I…
  • 20 grams of protein? Lots of fiber? Was it a Quest protein bar? If so, those have sugar alcohols in them, which will definitely cause bloating. Proceed through the rest of your day with caution. For a lot of people, sugar alcohols can cause some pretty severe gastrointestinal problems.
  • Does anyone have any advice for me?
  • I'm a cheese head, on my mothers side. I live in the Chicago area, which is tough, but the fact that we always seem to beat the bears sure makes it easier! I'm watching the game right now. The interception in the beginning was soooo beautiful.
  • To get the full benefit from a work out on a treadmill, I was told you shouldn't hang on to the rails. The reason is that when you don't hold on, you engage more muscles in your for to keep you upright and stable.
  • http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/list This is a link to the USDA nutrient database. Their counts are about as accurate as you're going to get. These counts can be found on MFP though. Just look for entries in the data see that don't have a star in front of them.
  • -Chocolite protein bars: 100 calories, a good amount of fiber, and 10 grams of protein! -Kashi go lean: 13 grams protein (10 of it complete) 10 grams fiber, and all for 140 calories -Fage Greek yogurt, fat free. Creamy. Dreamy. Add some fruit and sweetener and its too die for!!! -100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn.…
  • Fiber is considered a carbohydrate. However, it is not absorbed by the body, and therefore does not count towards your carb count. Subtract the number of carbs from the total number of carbs, and that is your net carbs.
  • Go with the plain. If you want chocolate pb2, just add some cocoa powder. If you look at the ingredients, you can see that the only thing added to make pb2 chocolate is some cocoa powder. You can do that yourself, and have the best of both worlds!
  • I'm going to repeat what everyone is saying and tell you to see an actual doctor. It's important that you see someone who can give you a physical examination. That being said, missing a period, or even two in a row is nothing to be too concerned about. The general consensus is that missing three in a row is the point at…
  • Why couldn't you have just filled your soda cup with water?
  • I'm the same way. I was watching "America's Test Kitchen" last night and they were making chocolate pudding. Odd how I didn't realize that I was craving pudding until I watched that segment. Candles go both ways for me. I'd I go into a candle shop and smell too many, I get sick to my stomach. But some scents do set me off…
  • I tried the ranch dressing, and if was okay. It's not a miracle product, but for being calorie free its pretty decent. Tasting it plain, I wasn't all that impressed, but its good as a condiment and for cooking. I've tried other Walden products though, and those were horrible. Their peanut butter is downright nasty, and the…
  • If you are not eating because it causes you physical discomfort, that is dangerous and you need to see a doctor. You may have a food intolerance or your mental enxiety about gaining wieght might be manifesting itself as physical symptoms. This site is great for advise (if you know how to sort through some occasional bs…
  • I second what emmylou said. Unsweetened Greek yogurt is low in carbs (no added sugar) and high on protein. I love to flavor mine either with strawberries or pineapple and coconut extract, and sweeten it with some truvia.
  • Yes! I can't agree more. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still love Sam, but I think he was so much more adorable back when he was a lanky youngster and wasn't sporting a full on lion's mane of hair.
  • Supernatural fan here (and Doctor Who too, btw). I got into Supernatural a little over a year ago. The newest season is on hiatus right now, but coming back in a couple weeks. I can't wait!!!!
  • I understand your pain. You can become a mindless zombie when you know there's some tasty junk in the house. What helps me cope is a simple strategy that I read about in an article. Instead of telling yourself "no, I can't have that" or "no, I won't have that", say "I chose not to have that". The former statements are…
  • 1 lb lean ground chicken or turkey Whatever seasonings you desire Form into four patties and cook until internal temp is 165. Serve on whole wheat buns (healthy life has some that are only 80 calories) One burger (patty and bun) made with 95% lean chicken is 240 calories Add some roasted/steamed veggies as a side, and…
  • My experience with getting wisdom teeth removed was actually not that unpleasant. The first day I was on some pretty heavy painkillers, but from then on he only pain I felt was moderate discomfort and hat could be taken care of with some ibuprofen. As to what you can eat -Greek yogurt: excellent source of protein -Ice…
  • My family eats the brand '365 Everyday Value' which is a Whole Foods brand. Personally, I've eaten many different whole wheat pastas and couldn't really tell a difference, but my mom is pretty picky and swears that the 365 brand is the best she's ever tasted.
  • Instead of making mine with water or milk, I use Aldi brand "Fit and Active" sugar free cranberry drink. Then I add 2 oz cashews and 1/4 cup craisins. If not that, then I make my oatmeal with water, add apples that I've chopped up and microwaved to soften, add 2 oz of some sort of nut, raisins if I have the calories for…
  • I like Quest protein bars. Lots of protein for relatively few calories. Just be sure that you have a day or two to yourself when you first try them, unless you already eat A LOT of fiber. each bar has 17-18 grams of fiber, which is quite a bit. It certainly won't be a problem if your body is accustomed to fiber, but if…
  • ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now I'm glad I chose to buy tickets for The Hobbit in the IMAX theater rather than in the 48fps. I can't wait to see the 9 minute preview!!!
