I can relate! It is tough. I am starting and have about 100 lbs to lose so I can really relate. I've dieted, quit , tried all kinds of diets and it just hasn't stuck. I am tired of it and even thought I know I need to lose the weight it gets hard and you do need support. People backing you up and saying keep on going. So,…

Yes, I've had 539. I've been trying to bring it all down. My last labs were horrible. My A1C went down from 12.1 to 10.4 but my kidneys are throwing protein into urine. I'm terrified. I've gotten off of animal proteins and am on vegetable diet. My sugars have gone down to 140 which is great for me. Has anyone out there has…

How many carbs should a diabetic eat?

I can relate! 1 week in and I lost 2 lbs and actually SUPER AND my sugar levels have gone down to 130's. They'd never gone down to anything less than 345! So Im super psyched but I realize I'm needing recipes because I'm eating the same thing over and over. Help !!

Ahhh... I hear the percussion, that swaying latin beat....my foot begins to move to the sounds that blended together have a strong latin beat. Oh yeah, I'm talking about Zumba! I love it. The music itself makes me want to dance. And before I know it I'm sweating, heart pumping strong as I joing the Zumba dancers. It is the…

My two cents: First thing first, if he needs to give you a "heads up" then he's not really thinking you're a snazzy dresser. Which is not good at all. Secondly, if he's comparing you to her - no bueno either! Third, you can do so much better. A man who wants to "show me off" to his ex quite possibly has feelings for her…

Ah yes... a smart man among us! LOVE IT! hahaha

You look beautiful! You inspire and motivate me. I'm 305 lbs (I am waiting to weigh in tomorrow. It will be my first week.) and I can't wait to see myself shed the pounds. Thanks for sharing and reaffirming - IT IS POSSIBLE. Way to go girl!:flowerforyou:

I agree with the two above. MFP's direction is to provide help and support for a healthy lifestyle - weightloss. It would get tacky if it were a dating site and kinda creepy. Personally, I prefer the opportunity to make friends that are in the same situation as myself and that we form a bond as a support to each other.

Hi! I'm Janice! I'm diabetic and you can find some great tasting bars from glucerna. When purchasing just check the sugar content and the carb content. If it has sugar alcohol be very careful that's just sugar. Good luck with it!

OH! And one more thing...I'm careful about picking my airline. Some airline seats are smaller than others!
-
In my situation, since I know I'm obese I buy first/business class seat where the seats are way larger and more comfortable just to avoid the whole situation. It's embarrassing enough having to ask for a seatbelt extension. It's a terrible situation all around. :ohwell:

Hi I'm new here and not quite familiar with how this works. I hope I can meet some new people that are struggling with the same issues I am. Weight and Diabetes. I have a blog and invite you all to read it so that we can interact. It's called Believe. This is what happened yesterday. Anyone out there have suggestions?…

I want to be able to go to Disney or Universal and not worry if I'll fit into the ride.

I've been a yo-yoer myself. I know how it feels to want to fit into those clothes and such. You know what, I can honestly tell you I've avoided mirrors for the longest time. Guess, what? I looked into a mirror and along with some little lines ( note I said LITTLE ) I realized I have some nice and beautiful things. Try it…

I think it's great what you're doing! It's great motivation to do this with buddies. Keep it going! Good luck!

Hi Baybee! My motivation to lose weight is my diabetes. I'm really overweight and have 100 lbs to lose. It's an uphill battle. I'm looking forward to being healthy again and wear a dress. I haven't worn a dress since I gained weight! Pathetic, huh? I just feel I look like a tamale with a rope around the waist. Good luck to…
