Skinny people suffer from as many health problems as obese people. Let's get Healthy instead!!!

That's sad. Most people I know (including myself) were so happy we lost the weight that we became better people to be around.

When I was growing up, the information was simply not there. There's no excuse now. It's our responsibility as parents to educate our children and to guide them into a healthy lifestyle. I couldn't imagine how I would feel if one of my children became a diabetic as a teenager b/c I ignored their obesity as a youth! If you…

Congrats! Can't wait to see the final results! Get yo groove back Stella!!!

Atrophy can't accelerate that fast. I think you are missing the pump that follows the workout. You will get it right back after your next workout!

This has become an epidemic that has far more implications than the scale. I run a non profit nutrition company and our primary focus is helping people understand how obesity is a leading risk factor to diabetes, cancer, strokes, kidney disease and heart disease. Especially in athletes or those who grew up active. When I…

Don't eat a huge meal at 11 pm if your going to sleep afterwards. If you are in the habit of doing resistance exercise, then yes your body is burning fat 24 hours a day. Your body wants to use those nutrients every 3/4 hours to repair the muscle tissue damaged during the workout. It is then that your body will turn to your…

When putting on weight, you want to make sure that it's healthy weight, and not just fat. You should do more than yoga if you want to build muscle. I would recommend hitting the weights 3 times a week and increasing your protein and carbs before and immediately after your workout.

Good luck! Feel free to add me!

I'm from Texas, but living in Indianapolis right now. Feel free to add or hit me up!

How often do you change your routine? What types of workout do you do and how often?

I have 3 people total here so far. If we get 6 to 10 I wouldn't mind putting together a league.

I'm just the opposite. I can workout in the heat for hours. You won't catch me running 100 meters in the cold! I'm just used to it.

You can't guess. Use the tools here to calculate what your caloric needs are. The site isn't perfect so you may need to tweak them a little bit. HTH

Plan plan plan!!! Plan your meals in advance. Don't go grocery shopping without that plan. And never go on an empty stomach!

Weight isn't the most important factor when it comes to fitness. It's being healthy. If your body fat percentage is good and vitals are ok, then the low carb diet is fine for you. If the numbers on the scale are low, but internally you become pre-diabetic or develop other health risks, I would use more moderation. Each…

I was an engineer for 20 years. So when I got in to fitness, I had to pursue my BS in Nutrition Science then Masters. I was going to school fulltime. Now I go part time.

I'm a living witness b/c I did it in less than 6 months. No yo yo diets or carb cutting. Didn't run 20 miles a day. When I was 300 lbs, I ate 1 huge meal a day. Once I calculated my daily calorie needs, I broke them down and measured what I needed to eat every 4 hours. Once I got used to eating the small portions, the…

I lost 100+ in 5 months. Feel free to add me.

I think the key missing ingredient here is proper exercise (resistance and cardio). If you eat junk food, and exercise properly, you may still lose healthy weight. If you were to come behind the trainer counter at my gym, your jaw would drop when you see all of the junk food we have back there. And if you ever saw us out…

I had Lasik (PRK to be more exact) in 2003. I wore glasses and contacts my entire life and they never seemed to be great. I had bad migraines and my eyes would be irritated b/c of allergies. When I signed up to have the surgery, they also told me about Punctal Plugs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punctal_plug). I was…

Try kickboxing cardio. Great burn and it's fun.

Get in the habit of reading the ingredients of everything you eat. You would be amazed how many Subway sandwiches contain a full day's supply of sodium in 6"

The Thyroid is a very difficult variable. Just keep working hard and eating healthy. Lean on friends and even here for motivation and support!

Best way to always calculate your burned calories is a heart rate monitor.

I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. I know I need surgery, but for now I just know what I can and cannot do on it. I take an Amino Acid called Glucosamine. It helps lubricate joints and also aids in muscle tissue repair. By taking it I'm able to still lift heavy weights, play softball, kick boxing etc. When I don't…

Consider doing a cleanse. There are some pounds that can't be lost by exercise or even dieting.

Add in some resistance training!!!
