McCann's steel cut made in the slow cooker overnight. (Google slow cooker oatmeal.) I add: 5 roasted unsalted almonds 1/3 cup frozen blueberries 3 slices of frozen peach 1/2 skim milk Yummy! Sometimes I slice half a banana instead of the frozen fruit if the bananas are getting too brown.

I have a 40 pound Yellow Cur (aka a mutt or basic canine) who thinks he's a lap dog. He is an absolute pet but has some rescue issues. We don't know a lot abut his history but he does not like to be pulled by his collar, reacts badly to being nudged by a foot and has extreme separation anxiety. He is very protective of the…

What about some of those cheap, plastic toys? They would take up room and fall good. Possible chocking hazard if they don't notice that they're not chocolate.

My brother, sister and I all look quite similar - definitely the same family. And we all take after our dad.

Oh thank goodness! I was starting to think that my husband and I were the only ones who did this. Anything I want, I buy for myself and anything he needs, he says, "Honey, would you pick me up..." It's working for us.

Squeeing every day.

He refuses to grown up. I like that in a man.

Oh that is going into rotation! "On the advice of legal counsel, my response is 'Bite me.'"

1. I love when people say, "Have you lost more weight?" 2. I love when people say, "You look fantastic today." 3. I love that I've been able to keep off the weight that I've lost even if I'm on a plateau for now.

Get back to doing yoga regularly.

Right back on the wagon! You can do it.

I know a Gitane (french cigarette), a Caslon (like the typeface), and a Merlot (like the wine). All girls.

I went to a convention and got my picture taken with Jewel Staite and with Adam Baldwin. And got their autographs too. I put on my Star Trek dress to go to a Wrath of Khan showing at the local geek theatre. I'm trying to put together a Zoe costume for next year's Can't Stop the Serenity screening.

I got an iPhone and it turns out there is an app for that.

Roast it in a little olive oil with sliced almonds and cherry tomatoes.

Yes, not drinking my calories.

Pictures from a family vacation. I'd been avoiding being in pictures but I wanted some of me and my boys. With 50 and menopause looming, I knew that it was time.

This. I don't ask for advice so why would you be peering into my diary? Sightseeing? Nosy? Trying to one-up me? I don't understand why it would bother you that you can't see my diary. It's MY diary.

It's funny, but these are all things that I've learned through MFP over the past year, through the forums and members supporting members.

I notice this in myself as well. I'm very tempted to try the lights but haven't yet. Making sure that you've got a bright room. Get those 'daylight' or 'natural spectrum' light bulbs. Switch your day to follow natural light and dark as much as possible (get up earlier and go to bed earlier if possible). Get outside any…

I started MFP and lost 15 pounds. Then I had pneumonia for 6 weeks and lost another 5. I bought new clothes. That's when everyone noticed that I'd lost weight. Now everyone says, "When you lost all that weight because of the pneumonia...." Argh! It was bloody hard work! Did you notice that I've kept it off? Did you notice…

Congratulations! Sounds like time for some new pants. You don't want to be posting the "my pants fell down" NSV.

I'll be 50 next spring and already feeling it. I've been kind of coasting on my weight loss for a few months - eating maintenance calories by default. I'm hoping to get back on the wagon of meeting my (slower loss goal) calorie targets and starting to lose again. I'm Canadian so Thanksgiving is long gone but I have to get…

I also agree. My problem was that, in my head, I hadn't really gotten fat. So now, I'm more just matching the picture in my head and I can't see the changes that others are seeing. 40 pounds is a huge loss and a lot of hard work went into it. It can be tough if the part you hate most is the last to lose but hang in there…

He doesn't care if its dark or cold or raining and he loves the snow. What a motivator.

https://store.qmxonline.com/_c_1.html This is the source of many of the Amazon items for less money. I have the keychain and it is shiny indeed. Also, my husband let me put the Engineered by Firefly sticker on our car.

Also RIPT.com for daily geeky t-shirts.

Gum is good if what you're really after is the chewing sensation. I find that in the afternoon a cup of green tea can really curb hunger and cravings.

I prefer my husband with his goofy little artist beard, as I call it. Goatee to anyone else. He's going full beard for winter and I don't like it as much. Either way he has to keep it trim or he looks like grizzly adams. But clean shaven? No way.
