There's an App for it. LOL! I had wanted to lose weight for a long time but I found the iPhone app. It's so convenient that it gives me the discipline to keep at it. As do the vacation photos from last summer!

LOL! Friday is usually my cheat day as we go out for lunch from work. So last Friday, we went to the diner and I had the Super 8 - 2 eggs (poached), 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes and I got potatoes instead of the 2 pieces of bacon. Then my husband calls and he's having a KFC craving. So I had KFC for dinner. I had to leave…

It's a long journey and you just keep going. If you stop along the way, you just get back up and keep going. Remember whatever it is that you want out of this: long live, healthier living, nicer clothes, etc.

It's a tough time of year. Remember that spring is coming and you'll be able to shed that winter jacket for a look at the sun. You want to feel good when you do.

I'm at 150 and a size 10. My coworkers keep telling me not to lose any more but my goal weight is 130 so that I'm more in the middle of the healthy range. I don't like the feeling that I'm one doughnut away from overweight and diabetes. I have plenty to lose in belly fat and junk out of my trunk.

Sitting on the couch too much. Portion sizes. Loving sweet and/or fatty things (chocolate, cheesecake, icecream, cake.....) Stealth calories (that pumpkin scone I'd get when I skipped breakfast has 500 cal?) :ohwell:
-
LOL! Me too.

I would think that, unless you've been wiping and cleaning it regularly, it would put you waaaay over your sodium. ;-D

Same here. And if I'm going out to a restaurant, I try to check out the menu and pre-plan a sensible meal so I'm not tempted by the smothered chicken or some other outrageous dish. That said, it's my life not prison so I'll adjust and delete things if plans change.

Shin splints hurt down the front of the shin, like someone kicked you.

At that calorie level, you should eat your exercise calories. I suggest that you read the 'pinned' posts at the top of the General and Nutrition forums.

A friend of mine likes to point out, "It didn't go on in a day. You can't expect to lose it in a day." This is about a lifestyle change, not a quick fix or a number on a scale.

Welcome and good luck! Be sure to read the 'sticky' posts at the top of each topic. They have much valuable information to help you along.

Rats! I've been using an entry that said 4oz of Savignon Blanc was 80 cals. :ohwell: I'll have to find a more accurate entry for wine. That said, I've been trying to keep to 4 oz or so as a serving at home, then adjusting portions if I order a 6 or 9 oz glass at a restaurant.

Sadder for daddy! But good work. I was overflowing a 36 DDD (european F) and on the last hooks. Now I'm comfortably in and on the first hooks. I'd be happy to get back to a B or C but that may not happen.

One square of Lindt dark chocolate. Intense chocolate flavour for fewer calories.

Wow! You have lost a lot of weight and you do have a beautiful face! You look fantastic all over (love the glasses). Congrats!

I hear you! I've realized that Feb/March is a really hard time for me. Being controlled through Christmas was a strain. Winter is dragging on. Days are overcast. Valentine's and Easter candy is hitting the shelves. And temptation is everywhere. I've got to hold fast and keep as focused as I can.

Today, I'm wearing a pair that hasn't fit in 8 years.

Hope things start looking up.

Good luck!

Try to figure out what the craving is and fill it in a low cal way. Craving salt? Have a cup of bouillon. - 10 cal Craving sweet - diet coke. And yes, sometimes I just fill up my stomache with water. Craving the sensation of chewing - gum. Good luck.

Had you just been to the bathroom? Where are you in your cycle? That's why a lot of people don't weigh in as often. There is too much fluctuations day to day.
-
How does Boots feel about you using the scale naked? Seriously, I think a big part of the journey is finding what works for you. Good luck!

I just try to use it as encouragement if it's less than what I weight now and a smack on the head if it's more. Too much is going to vary in the 5 weeks to use it as an actual predictor.
-
I've had flu and pneumonia since January. Try to keep at least above 1200 cal so that you're not starving. Keep up the fluids. Eat healthy. Don't force the exercise when your body wants to rest. And keep going when you feel better.

LOL! I lost 15 pounds and no one said anything. Then I got sick and lost another 5 and everyone things it's because of the illness. I worked really hard on this. BTW when people ask "How?" and I say, "I ate less and exercised more," they're disappointed. People want a magic pill.
-
Very good! The occasional slip up doesn't mean that you're a bad person. I've been sick and have decided that maintenance mode wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for a bit. I'll get back to loss mode soon.

I haven't read that one, but I would recommend "The Skinny: How to fit into your little black dress forever." It has a lot of the same philosophy that I've found here: no food is forbidden, just watch your portions and get moving. Also there are some good recipes in the back.

Good luck!
