Oooo...I want those jeans!! BTW, you look fab in them.

The weight training and pilates is an excellent idea. We lose muscle as we age, which may account for some of the fat gains. It might be a good thing to have an assesment at the gym to find out your BF% which may help to set your goals for weight and fitness. For myself, I find having a personal trainer helps to mix up my…

And now I have that song stuck in my head. Again!!

I love medicine ball training! Throwing things at people is fun. :)

I would much rather be praised for something I worked for than something genetic. Genes are just the luck of the draw, and the competitiveness in me much prefers getting complimented for something I worked hard building.

I love my HRM! Funny thing though, I've noticed that the Lifetime cardio equipment syncs with my Polar HRM. Which is kind of weird, but also useful.

Not scary pics at all! You look great, and congrats on getting healthy mentally and physically. It can be tough, but like you said, with the right support we all can do it! Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

That's awesome! I used to work on Sanibel when I lived on the west coast of Florida. I miss it!

Welcome back! Feel free to add me if you want. I'm on pretty much every day and would love to have more support!

I'd do three days weights and follow it with 30 minutes interval cardio after each session. That works like a charm for me, and it cuts down the days you have to do long workouts.

This! Heavy squats do more for my abs than any regular ab work. I love doing squats. Lunges I could live without, which is why its good my PT makes me do them. :)

Looks like Dr. Oz needs better interns to do research.

So...if you lose weight you get thrown out? I'm not sure I understand the concept, or rather, I'm not sure they thought this all the way through.

I'm not a morning person, so I go to the gym after work which means I work out from about 7 PM-8:30 PM three nights per week. If I go an extra day on the weekend its in the afternoon. I really hate having to go out early in the morning on the weekends!

I eat most of my exercise calories back on days that I weight train. I'm trying to maintain as much LBM as possible while I'm losing weight. If I do a light cardio day or just walk or something, I usually don't eat them all back unless I'm hungry. I'm losing about a pound per week which is exactly what I want to do at this…

I always exercise before eating. I can't stand to do it on a full stomach.

I'm 5' 11" and sometimes I wear heels, but generally nothing over 3 inches. I'm completely comfortable with my height and love being tall, but when you have super long legs and a high center of gravity its a bit hard to navigate in really high heels.

Yeah, I don't know. I guess it depends on personalities and priorities. Me, I'm kind of an over-achiever. I don't mean that I work out like a fiend every day, because I don't. But I do like the challenge of seeing how strong and fit I can be. Of course, I want to be healthier which at my age should be the priority, but…

Happy Birthday! Congrats on doing such a great job. You look fantastic!

You may gain some weight from your body retaining water as you start weight training. Don't get discouraged about the water weight gain in the first few weeks. After that, you should see weight loss, assuming you are eating at a deficit.

Planks. But hold them for as long as you can, like starting at 20 seconds. It helps if you have a trainer or workout friend to count for you so you don't cheat.

Wow! What an amazing transformation! Congrats on having the courage and commitment keep going. I know it must have been hard for you, so take pride in the fact that you fought through. Never quit!
