  • 5'11" CW 181 GW Around 165 and after that we'll see, if I can ever get past this now two week of not losing.
  • I think you can call yourself whatever you want. I most often refer to myself as plant-powered, since I don't like the way some vegans get the holier-than-thou attitude described above. I started out being a vegetarian about 15 years ago for health reasons and I'm now doing it for ethical reasons as well. I seem to do best…
  • Have a great time! We will miss you around here. Who's going to keep people honest in your absence?
  • I could never do them until my trainer started making me do plank to starting push up stance and back to plank. Magically, after I mastered those I could do full push ups. Try starting with planks and holding them for 30-45 seconds and see if that improves your push up attempts.
  • From Houston. Tired of rain at the moment. :)
  • Last night I made soft tacos with tofu, pinto beans, onions, red peppers, mushrooms, and a chopped up chipotle pepper. I put the filling in some blue corn tortillias with a bit of Follow Your Heart nacho-style "cheese" and topped them with home made guacamole.
  • Andy Tauer's Carillon Pour un Ange and Incense Rose (the latter only in Winter).
  • HI and welcome! I am in West Houston. Feel free to add me.
  • I disagree with your disagreement.
  • Sugar. Chocolate, mostly, but any kind of candy, sweet baked goods, etc. I find that having a bit of dark chocolate here or there keeps the cravings from being overwhelming.
  • I like squats, and I'm okay with lunges. What I hate is planks when my trainer times me with his blasted stop watch.
  • I think with me its more the social aspects going shopping with my BFFs that makes it fun more than just the shopping part. But I still can't resist a sale, LOL!
  • Hi! I'm from Houston. I can relate to your problem to resisting all of that yummy Mexican food. It must be double-hard working around it! Congrats on your progress so far!
  • Awesome! Love Lyle. BTW, it totally works!
  • My gym is huge, and it usually seems like there are just as many women in the weight area as men. Sure, there are women who just do cardio or go to group classes, but men do that as well. I personally don't get the whole intimidation thing when it comes to women lifting at the gym. We pay our dues just like the bros, so…
  • Awesome job! I have such great admiration for you for sticking with it and having so much determination I'm just trying to lose 25 pounds and it feels like its taking forever, LOL! Keep up the good work. You're looking fantastic!
  • I do lifting, by myself at least twice a week and one day with my trainer. With my trainer we also work on balance stuff and core. I also love doing cardio on the arc, bike, and sometimes treamill (my least favorite). If I have time during the week I go to a yoga class. I also want to start swimming and some point and take…

  • I smoked for 20 years off and on. I quit last November using an Ego-C e-cig, and I haven't had a cigarette since. It works for me because vaping still has the same physical movements as smoking, but without all of the smoke and tar. I'm already down to very low nicotine juice, and I'll probably go with zero stuff soon. The…
  • CrossFit thing. Every CF site I've looked at mentions it.
  • Hi. Feel free to add me. I am 50ish. :)
  • Do your it after 7 PM. That will make you lose the bulk and be toned again. Not 6:59 PM, though. 7 PM sharp!
  • What is your work out schedule now? You say you've been weight training for a year, so do you do full body workouts when you do it or split days? Some people do cardio the same day and others don't. For myself, since i'm just getting back into lifting I do three days full body which takes about 45 minutes and follow that…
  • If you eat after 7 PM your muscles will fall off. But that's okay, because girls should not have muscles.
  • Hi! Age is just a number. Eat at a reasonable deficit, lift some weights (so long as your Dr. okays it), do a little cardio (walking is great to start), always stretch after a workout and remember to get some rest. You can do it, I promise!
  • To be fit and stronger. Also because it reduces stress and it makes me feel fantastic. I love challenging myself and seeing the positive changes in my body composition.
  • Whole Foods primarily (I live pretty close to two of them). Kroger or Randall's (Safeway) for small purchases during the week since both are within a half mile of where I live.
  • Houston!
  • I am with you, OP. I will make sammichs all day long so long as someone else does the car stuff. So go wash my car!
  • My Lifetime has an awesome cafe. I don't go there very often since my workouts usually don't end until 9 PM, but they have great healthy food and they're always updating the menu.
