I'll just add one thing and I could be wrong because you may be using perfect form. Make sure you are lowering from your hips and your weight is balanced toward your heels. Don't bend from the waist or pitch too far forward. And when you come up, use the power in your legs to lift. Keeping your spine in the most neutral…

I'm no expert, but I have the FT7, and the way that my trainer and I work is we don't care about the fat burner stuff. We normally try for cardo levels doing circuits with weight training. Most of the time we only get there with compound exercises that involve lower body moves (like squats or lunges). I find with cardio…

I wish I had time to take naps! Normally I never do, but one day last week after a day I worked out hard, I came home from work and fell asleep for two hours. I think sometime our bodies need the extra sleep.

I have two cats. The Siamese mix is Rowdy (kind of and tennis.com inside joke nickname for Andy Rod****), and the orange and white one is Remy, because his eyes are the color of cognac. Their pictures are in my profile.

Here's a simple one I learned from yoga. When you feel stressed, stop what you are doing and take deep breaths in-and-out. Focus all of your attention on your breathing for a bit. I may sound silly, but it works!

Pffft...no such thing as too much!

Chocolate Almond

Avocados! Also, I second the coconut oil. Get the organic, unrefined kind. Delish!

That's so awesome! I'm happy for you. I know how uplifting it can be. I felt sort of the same way when I was able to put on a pair of smaller jeans last week.

Hi and welcome! This site is very helpful and there are great people here. I have about 25 pounds to lose myself. Feel free to add me!

Hmm...is it a gas oven? Oil and oven cleaner should make for a fine explosion. Just sayin'.

I do. I just watch the portion sizes. For instance, I have a little dark chocolate most days. The rest of the time, I try to stick with all healthy choices. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Spinach or broccoli sauteed in coconut oil with garlic.

Awesome! Congrats on winning. And yep, putting in the work and not worried about the scale all the time is key!

Me! (But don't tell my employees.)

This is what I use. I have neck problems (disc related), so I can't squat with the bar behind my head. I use the squat machine instead.

Amazing progress! You look really cute in your new swim suit. Have fun wearing it this summer and keep up the good work! You are a great inspiration to the rest of us.

Fabulous! You are looking great. Keep up the good work!

I started because I had lost quite a bit of weight 6-7 years ago, and it was slowly creeping back up. Not to mention that I was having trouble getting up a flight of stairs. And then my jeans started being hard to fit into, so I decided to put a stop to the gaining before it got to be too much. Also because I want to get…

Yes it is. I would said back/shoulders if I have to pick but no chicken legs! You need the whole package.

I don't see what the big deal is about this. I think people should wear what they want to the gym. I hit the gym after work, so I always have on make up. Also, many of the women that dress kind of skimpy and wear full make up can be found in the free weight area dong dead lifts and pull-ups. I say to each her own, and so…

I go to Lifetime, too, and I love it for all the reasons you listed. Plus, my hot PT, so bonus!

Not to hijack the thread, but I read "Finding Ultra" Rich has the right ideas about eating plant-powered.

My version of the treamill master: Super-skinny older guy who cranks the incline up to max, then hangs on to the front of the machine for dear life while leaning waaay back. I see him every time I'm at the gym. He stays on thing thing for hours!

Thank you for sharing this with us. Please take good care of yourself and I hope you are doing okay.

Yeah, I'd recommend Starting Strength to anyone. No matter how heavy or light you're lifting, its a great book to learn form. I just got back to lifting after not doing so for 5 or 6 years and I thought I had pretty good form. Turns out I was wrong, but luckily I got the book and learned the proper way to do a squat. Its…

I know what you mean. I have about 25 pounds to go (and I'm very tall). It seems like with doing weights and cardio and keeping my diet as clean as possible I only lose 1/2 pound to 1 pound a week, and even then it fluctuates. It IS hard not to be discouraged when you see others losing more and faster, but you just have to…

Well, you skin it and eat it, of course.

Yeah, Vega makes awesome stuff! Its kind of expensive at Whole Foods, though, so right now I'm using chocolate Life's Basics, with is also soy and gluten free. Its pretty tasty, too.
