I've been using soy milk for years without any ill effects. I use Eden Extra vanilla in my smoothies for more protein (its non-GMO, as are all Silk soy milks). For cooking, I prefer plain unsweetened almond milk, and soy milk has it's own flavor, while almond milk is much milder. Rice milk is a bit on the sweet side, so it…

You look fabulous! Congrats on meeting your goal and getting so ripped!

Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard, Mustard Greens, and Collards (I'm from the South). I eat spinach and kale the most. Spinach I throw into smoothies raw, or make a salad with it. It is also good sauteed in a little olive oil with garlic. Kale can be steamed or sauteed, or made into kale chips. Almost any greens can be steamed or…

I'm an ENTP. Took the test a while back.

I think everyone feels that way, getting angry about letting themselves get so out of shape. As for goals, set small ones. For instance, set a goal to lose 10 pounds first, and it won't seem so daunting. Or set a goal to start waking 30 minutes per day and increase your goal once you hit it. No worries, you can do it!

Yeah, its tough here in Texas during the summer as well. I already have to water my plants everyday. Seems like the mint is the only thing that survives the heat, so mojitos it is!

I just started a balcony garden. So far I have bell peppers, rosemary, mint and catnip (for the cats).

I usually eat about half of mine back. I have a HRM and log the calories from it rather than use the MFP estimates that are usually a bit too high. Some days when I do a long weight training session I'll eat more depending on I feel.

A few almonds, cashews, or pumpkin seeds An apple with almond butter Oranges Green Smoothies Sometimes a chocolate protein bar instead of the usual sweets

Start small. Buy a walking or yoga DVD and just start doing it. Like you, I was active when I was younger, and turned into the laziest person in the world. Two months ago I started with a walking DVD and now I go to the gym 4 nights a week and have personal trainer. You may not believe this right now, but once you start…

Glad to hear you're feeling better! An apple and popcorn is a lot of fiber, which could be an issue. Me, I've always been a night owl so I eat most of my calories at night, after I work out. I guess I'm used to it since I don't have any problems with it.

This has to be joke...right?

You look great! It may not have a been a lot of weight, but you can really see a difference. Keep up the good work!

LOL. Proof reading is over rated. Actually, i kind of like it. But if I were a plant, I'd forget to water myself. Eh, that doesn't sound right either....

Hi! I'm 53 and have about 25 pounds to lose. I'm also a vegetation...well, mostly vegan at this point. Feel free to add me.

Hi! I was a lacto-vegetarian for many years, and 2 months ago I switched to pretty much vegan (or plant-powered as I prefer to call it). Feel free to add me if you want. Here is a vegan food guide that lists the supplements and nutrients you need by a RD: http://www.theveganrd.com/food-guide-for-vegans My favorite recipe…

I eat late at night all of the time, because many nights I don't get home from the gym until after 9 PM. I just eat light during the day, and save the calories for the night. That way when I'm hungry after working out I have plenty of calories to spare. Many nights I eat dinner at 11. I've always kind of been a night…

Love it. But only old fashioned rolled or steel cut, with fruit and almond milk. I hate the instant over-sweet stuff.

Oh yeah, gotta love the geeks. I'm a techie myself and own way too many sci fi books.

I quit 6 months ago using an E-Cig. I haven't smoked one since I got mine. But don't get one of those cheap ones you can buy anywhere. Get something like the E-Go C. You can find them on http://www.ovaleusa.com/.

Yoga is excellent exercise for arthiritis. If you check with your doctor first, walking and light strengh trainng should also be okay. I have it in my neck and I do strengh training. I have a personal trainer that keeps me from doing too much too soon, and it has been working for me so far. I do find that yoga is the thing…

When I know I'm going to do a long work out, I plan for it and save some calories for after, since I normally work out after work. I have a protein shake made with almond milk right after my workout, and then usually some protein with veggies and a little whole grains of some kind. That usually does the trick for me.

I buy this line at Whole Foods, but you can order it online. Gabriel Cosmetics are vegan and all-natural: http://www.gabrielcosmeticsinc.com/index.cfm/category/1/gabriel-color.cfm I like the Zuzu Luxe line too!

Houston! Memorial area.

I use this as well. I also like Vega One, but its a bit too expensive to use all the time. Vega One actually tastes better to me than Life's Basics and has added calcium, but the price kind of puts me off.

This is the most touching and inspirational thing I have ever seen posted on this forum. You are a warrior, you are brave, and you should be extremely proud of yourself. Your attitude and heart are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain bread is vegan. As is the low-sodium version.

Really? I go to a Lifetime Onyx gym and its not like that at all. It seems like at least half of the people at my gym are middle-aged, and I see people of all sizes and fitness levels. I guess it depends on the location and neighborhood you're in.

You shouldn't feel intimidated or worry about other people while at the gym. First off, most people are into their own workouts and don't pay any attention to what others are doing. Secondly, everyone has their personal challenges and no one at the gym is "perfect". Case in point: Yesterday I took my first yoga class at…
