  • I agree. See your doc, if for nothing more than peace of mind. When I was around your age, same stats even, I was experiencing high HR just like you are describing with mine getting up to 200 sometimes as well. I went to my doc, had a stress test done even and everything there was normal. She suggested a blood panel for…
  • I got a waterproof wristband style (Polar A300) because I only have to take it off once every 3-4 weeks to charge. I have owned Fitbits and a Polar Loop and HATED that I had to either take the fitbit off my bra everyday and risk forgetting it or washing it and hated having to charge it every few days. LOVE my A300, it is…
  • I feel fine, I actually haven't felt this good in years. Also, the weight has started to just melt off. Yes, she is an endo. And yes, obviously it isn't working, hence the order for lab work for re-adjusting. It isn't like this has been going on for months. I called her, told her I was going crazy, she told me to cut it…
  • These have been where my levels have been since I was diagnosed in 2011. High TSH, normal T4 and high T3, each and every time I have my panels done. My doc is the one that told me to not take it when I am hyper, (constantly sweating when everyone around me is cold, crying and anxious for no reason, racing heart at all…
  • Thanks CSAR and lindsey for your replies. I had to go back and look and it was Free T4 with a range of .82-1.77. Your explanation makes some sense. Still trying to wrap my head around it. So I wonder if my birth control is the competing hormone?? Also, these are results with pretty much no thyroid replacement in my system…
  • I just got my results but still waiting on note from doc. I thought she ordered a full panel but it was just T4 and TSH. My T4 was normal (1.4) and my TSH was pretty darn high (13.4). Why/How does this happen? My values are usually normal for T4 and high for T3 and high for TSH. Seems is TSH was that high T4 and T3 would…
  • I have never been on Cytomel as my T3 is always OVER the normal range but I do experience anxiety from Synthroid if the dose is too high.
  • I was diagnosed in 2011, I went gluten free back in May and was having hyper symptoms more than not so my doc told me to lay off the meds if I felt hyper. I haven't taken it very often since then and when I did I only took half a pill so I am curious to see where everything is.
  • I am right there with you. I find I check to see if my tests (from Friday) have posted like once an hour!
  • I just started C25K, I have never been a runner, but want to give it a go. By the end of the 30 mins I am hitting 180-183 usually during the jogging portions and the mid 150's during the walking portions (age 32, CW 158). I don't feel dizzy or anything. I had a stress test done a few years back when I did my first round of…
  • I have the same issue and have thought about getting a strap for them. I can make do without them though. I just like to have them when working out early in the morning because my vision is still waking up.
  • I don't run, although I just started the C25K program. I do the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta every July 4th, it is a 10K and I walk the whole thing except for the very end, I like to run across the finish line. A LOT of the people there are walking. I want to be able to run a lot of it next year, hence the C25K! I hope…
  • It's because I was wearing my HRM too, I guess if it was just basing that on steps it wouldn't be so high.
  • I thought that was funny too. It would tell me to get moving after I had been sitting for an hour, but after a hike where I climbed 3000+ ft with 21000+ steps and burned almost 3000 cals. Oh buzz off Polar, which I guess it technically did  Also, for that day I did 800% of my daily activity, I liked seeing that!
  • I upgraded to the A300 from the Loop and I feel like I made the right choice. It vibrates and chirps when it is time to move (it is like a 4 or 5 minute warning before you get the one hour inactivity stamp). I also like that it is more watch like and you can see more data on the actual watch. I received mine on June 9th,…
  • Bear spray is all I can be trusted with, and even then....
  • I almost always buy my workout gear at Tjmaxx, different brands. I did recently buy some sports bras at Academy sports and wicking undies at REI.
  • I wore my Polar HRM while hiking yesterday. Did 4.5 miles over 2 hrs and it says I burned 1100 cals. Seems steep to me, but I don't eat my exercise cals back for the most part so it doesn't really matter, I will eat some, but if I am not hungry or feel like I need food (get dizzy, etc) I don't bother. I wear the HRM more…
  • This is what fills me up the longest but not what I have every morning. I scramble egg whites in a tupperware bowl in the microwave at work and then mix in crumbled applegate farms chicken sausage patty (also microwaved) and a little cheddar. No stove or oven required.
  • Ok, I figured out the chirp. You were right-ish. I had left it on the screen with the activity % and status bar and eventually it went back to the main screen and chirped when it did it. So it wasn't my arm pushing the buttons accidentally but me leaving it on a different screen accidentally.
  • I just recently (this week) upgraded to a Polar A300. I had a Polar Loop and didn't really like it. I also had a Polar FT4 and found myself going back to that for dedicated exercise and then wearing a cheap (and small) tracker, the Misfit Flash. I like the screen on the FT4 much better than the Loops display, hence the…
  • I thought that was the problem but I can't replicate it. If I bend my hand back towards it as far as it will go it is still no where close to hitting the buttons. I think maybe a button got a little stuck or something. Who knows. It hasn't don't it today yet.
  • I have inactivity alert turned on and it is generally a more pronounced chirp and a vibrate plus the screen says to move it. This is just a little chirp randomly, sometimes it can do it a couple times a minute and then not do it for a few hours.
  • So, I went ahead and got the A300. It arrived in the mail on Tuesday and so far I love it. It is taking some getting used to but a lot of the buttons are the same as for the Polar F4 that I had. Its bulk on my tiny (my wrist have remained tiny through gaining weight) will also take some getting used to. Also, it randomly…
  • I could be mistaken but I think the Polar M400 does have activity tracking. I haven't looked into the V800 at all since it was way out of my price point. I was looking at the A300 and M400 and decided on the A300 as I do water aerobics and wanted to be able to track my calories in the pool. The A300 is a little bit smaller…
  • If your garmin does everything you need it to do, and you are happy with it, then I would just stick with it.
  • I have a polar loop. I liked it until I got tired of it having to charge all the time. I also have a Polar FT4, a general heart rate monitor watch and I love it it just doesn't do the activity tracking. I am thinking about getting the polar a300 so that I have the same type of user interface as the FT4 but with the same…
  • Maybe try water aerobics. I know a lot of people who can't handle impact really benefit from these types of classes, and you will get your heart rate up. I wore my HRM in my class last night (a little more strenuous than other water classes) and I burned 500 cals in 50 mins.
  • I would be in trouble if there was a gourmet burger place next to where I live. The sweet treats do not tempt me as much as burger and fries. :)
  • That sounds delicious though. I love parmesan crusted anything.
