I love speghetti squash! I steam it in my veggie steamer and just put some butter, salt and pepper on it.

Just peeing on this thread...curious as to what others have to say. :o)

I like the Kashi cereals too. I have a bowl of greek yogurt and put in a couple hand fulls of Kashi cereal and mix it up and have that for breakfast.

I just finished day 4 too and yes, it's hard on the knees a bit. I decided to replace the jumping jacks and jump rope with jogging in place for the cardio. Seems to work better for my knee pain.

I do a strenght/toning circuit of various exercises. It looks along the lines of this... - 1 set of 15 push ups - 1 set of 20 cross stomach crunches or bicycle style crunches - 1 set of 20 arm lifts over chest while laying down (3lbs weights) - 1 set of 20 reverse sit-ups - 1 set of 15 push ups -1 set of 20 backwards leg…

I'm just under 5'3" and when I started I was about 192. I've only been here a short time, going on 3 weeks now I think, so I haven't lost a lot yet. Only 3 lbs but I've lost .5" around my waist and 1" off my hips. I'd be mre than happy to be part of the "shorties" group, lol. Add me as a friend if you like :o)

Well, I did day 4 with no jumping jacks or jump rope. I just jogged in place instead and it was MUCH better. So I think instead of those I'll just jog or something to do the cardio part.

I'm just under 5'3" and my goal is 135lbs. I'll re-*kitten* when I reach my goal to see if I want to lose more.

Well, I do the video in my living room, which has carpet, and I wear my good runners. I can do the cardio, it just bothers my knees with certain ones (jumping jacks and jump rope). Maybe I'll invest in a knee brace and see if that helps. I've always had bad knees, riding a bike makes them feel like they are on fire and…

I'm in the same boat as you, I eat 1200/day and usually eat back my exercise calories of about 250-450/day (depends on the day and how much i exercise...usually between 30 minutes - 1 hour). I drink a lot of water through the day but have only lost 2 pounds in 2 weeks and the scale is saying I gained 1 pound back this…

I really feel your frustrations today. I'm pretty new to this whole thing and haven't been on this life change for very long but find it frustrating to not see the scale move a whole lot in 2 weeks even though I've been working my butt off. I do see results in inches though (lost about .5" in my waist) and I feel better…

I'm going to stick with it although I might take the weekends off as a rest period. I haven't decided yet. I'm still using my treadmill too so getting in lots of caret and my body will need a bit of a break. When do you move to level 2? Does it have to be after the 10 days of level 1 or is it more when you're comfortable…

I'm in alberta  Feel free to add me as well.

OMG, I was going to say that but was a little on the embarrassed side to say that jumping jacks make me almost pee my pants, lol. Dang kids!

I did the video today for the first time too. Holy crap! It doesn't look that hard to just watch it but man, when you actually do it it's hard! I was sweating my butt off by the end and my legs were so shaky when i had to walk up the stairs. The lunges and weights are hard and I had to stop a couple of times during the…

I'm on the 1200 calories/day too and I'm pretty new, only been here a week. Feel free to add me too if you like

Hmm, maybe i'm not wording this right. i don't seem to be getting the answers i'm looking for. What i want to know is will the strength training part of the 30 day shred along with some added strength training and do my cardio later in the day give me the same/some good results? Can i mark the strength training that I do…
-
If I were actually doing the whole video, I would be marking it as curuit training BUT, I'm only using the strength training part and not with the video. I just took parts from the video and added a few more in there for a total of about 15 minutes of good strength training and then i'll do my cardio later in the day. I…

Also, can I count this as calisthenics training in my exercise cardio catergory or would it go under strength and not get counted for calories?

Welcome! I'm pretty new here too, only been here a week. Feel free to add me as a friend as well, we can all use the support to reach our goals! :o)
-
Thank you! :o) I will be happy with a 7-8 lb loss a month. If I don't reach my goal weight by the beginning of Oct., it won't be the end of the world, i'll just extend it :o) I've also done a 360 with my lifestyle, it was a very junky lifetyle before :o)

Ya, I really like the Calgary area! Thanks for the welcome, I look forward to the next 5 months or so as I watch the extra pounds melt away...or at least i hope they do :o/ I quit smoking 3 years ago, so that helped with the weight gain...substituted smoking for snacking but now it's time for it to stop and get my old body…

I'm a mother of 2 as well and also new here. I started this journey on April 14. Welcome and feel free to add me as a friend, I could use the support too :o) I just posted my intro too.

Wow that is a fantastic story and you have given me inspiration and hope that I too can do this! Thank you for sharing your story!

Ya, from what I've read you burn more calories working on an incline, which is why I decided to workout that way. I only have a certain amount of time so I want to make it count! I found a site that calculates incline workouts but not sure how accurate that is either.
-
I walk on a 10% incline on the interval setting with my highs being about 3.3ish and the low being around 1.8ish and walk for 30 minutes. It really gets my heart rate up and makes me sweat. I'm a newbie at this though :o)
-
Thanks, that answers some of the questions! :o)

But do these give you an accurate reading with incline workouts? Don't you burn more calories working on an incline as apposed to flat?
