Fitbit question
I know so there are so many forgot questions and I tried doing a search but can find what I'm looking for. :/ OK, to the question...I have a Fitbit One and just bought a Fitbit Charge 2. I wanted something with a hrm because in my job I'm fairly active and my heart rate fluctuates up and down so wanted something to reflect…

Measuring ice cream/frozen yogurt
So, I'm noticing that on my frozen yogurt container it says 1/2 cup (125ml) is a serving. BUT...when I measure out 125ml is is MORE than 1/2 cup. So...which measurement do I go by...the 1/2 cup OR 125ml? Oh please say 125ml...lol. I get to eat a crapload of frozen yogurt then :) mmmmmmm frozen yogurt.

Kettle-bells...are they worth the purchase?
Just want to know if they are worth the money/space? I have the JM shred with weights and she uses the kettle-bell but I don't have one. I was thinking of doing this video after I'm done ripped in 30 (will be starting that in a couple weeks...almost done 30DS). So do I really need the kettle-bell for her workout and are…

Can someone tell me if this is a descent rack
Squat rack that is :) I need some input on it if it is a descent 1 to buy. TIA!

Squats...what do you do if you don't have a rack or spotter?
I'm just curious what others do when you don't have a squat rack or have a spotter available? I do all my exercise at home and I'm currently doing SL 5x5. We don't have a squat rack (I really want 1 but just don't have the space or $ for something like that) and my husband is only around in the evening to spot me but I…

Can we talk about squat racks?
I tried to do a search for what I was looking for and I couldn't find anything that answered my question. I would love to buy a squat rack but I can't afford much. I have seen some racks that come in 2 pieces, like this... ...that aren't to bad of a price. Are racks like this any good? Is 1 piece better to have than the 2…

ViSalus
How good or bad is this stuff for you? I have a friend who recently started taking it (April 6 to be exact) and is basically starving herself. She has 1 of these shakes for breakfast, 1 for lunch and then she eats supper and has a snack (probably not a helthy one either) later in the evening. She is delusional about what…

Fitbit One...
Is it the only Fitbit that tracks stairs? Trying to figure out which Fitbit model I want to buy. I have a fair amount of stairs in my house and I'm up and down them at least 15 times a day so I would like to track that I think. Stupid question...do you burn more calories walking up and down stairs vs not? I would think you…

Women who have had c-sections and/or abdominal surgeries
Have you been able to get rid of your bellies...more specifically that stupid little over hang where your incision is? I have had 4 surgeries on my stomach...1 being the side for appendix and the other 3 cut across my lower abdomen using the same scar/incision. With core exercises, will this over hang ever go away or do I…

TDEE - 20% method and Fitbit
Is it possible to use the 2 methods together...in otherwords...can I sync my FB AND still do the TDEE - 20% or will it screw it all up? I log all my exercise but ignore it and still eat at my calorie goal (never eating the calories back because they're included in the TDEE) because I like to see that I have met my…

To sync or not to sync...that is the question
So, I just got my Fitbit delivered to me this afternoon. I registered it and put it on so see what it calculates for the night. I'm excited to have my new toy and looking forward to see what kind of data it gives me. I don't know if I should sync it to MFP or not though. My settings are set to the MFP setting. I put in my…

Then...and now
What a difference a year makes! It was the end of April last year when I decided enough was enough and I made my lifestyle change. I've always struggled with my weight, it seems to fluctuate with what was happening in my life and I've always had a bad self image of myself. So, even at my lightest of 135 (I'm just shy of…

Strong Lifts 5X5 or NROL...which do you prefer?
I'm just starting (well will be starting is more like it since last week was a write of for me with starting...*sigh*) NROL4W but because I have only really done 1 day of it, I still have time so switch programs if I want. I have read the book for both SL 5X5 and NROL4W and I was having a hard time deciding which 1 I…

Have and some questions and make sure I'm doing this right
Hi all! First off, I'm going to give you some info and then bombard your with my questions, lol....and ugh...damn typo in the title...first "and" isn't suppose to be there *insert eye roll*. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right to achieve the look and results I want for my body (well, and over all health). I want…

Intake calories...the book compared to website calculators
Does anyone find the book's method for how many calories to eat a little low? Most website calculators calculate me for right around 2100 calories (for workout days...obviously a little less on days I sit on my *kitten*) where the book puts me at 1771 calories on workout days. Right now I aim to eat just over 1600 calories…

Help me make a routine
I have read many posts about asking for routines and what to do but I suck at making my own routine and need someone who knows what the hell they're doing to help me make 1. Currently I do cardio on my treadmill, Nike training app, and various JM videos. I want to get more into weights to really get rid of this last bit of…

What a difference almost 50lbs makes
Well, I have 9 lbs to go before I reach my goal and then re-evaluate from there. I was looking through some old photos and can't believe the difference! I'm so much happier, and don't mind my picture being taken now where I hated it before.

Interval training is harder that distance running?
Every time I tell people I do interval training on the treadmill ( I do a 1 min run/1min fast pace walk on a min incline of 1%) they say it's so much harder than distance running/ running or jogging the same speed for a certain time/distance. I don't understand that. I find interval training/running easier. I can't run for…

IIFYM.com
Anyone know how accurate this site is for calculating BMR and TDEE? Just curious as it was posted in another topic and although I love that you can put in your actual time of activity instead of just marking "lightly active-exercise1-3 hours/week" or "moderately active-3-5 hours/week" etc., it shows me about a 200 - 400…

What would you consider my activity level to be
I have my setting set as active (I think) but I'm wondring if it's set to the right setting. My job entails me to be moving 3/4 of the time (I work with kids so I'm up and down and walking around) and I do a 25-30 minute circuit training workout video followed by 20 minutes of interval training on my treadmill 3 - 5…

JM videos, are they considered strength training?
I'm not talking about for logging the workouts but just in general. Are they considered strength training videos or is just weight lifting ( free weights or machines ) considered strength training?

in the home stretch...16 pounds left to go!
I started the end of April at 192lbs. Dipping into the 190's scared the crap out of me ...well, and seeing pictures of myself at that point *shudder*...it made me finally get my *kitten* together and want to make a change. I've done a couple progress pics so I won't bore you with the details again about my story but I just…

Almost 40 pounds down and 20" off
So, I started this journey at the end of April/12. I have to say it's been both hard and easy. I don't really care for exercise (that was the hard part...oh and giving up and the junk foods I use to eat constantly) but did it anyway and I'm actually kinda starting to enjoy it a bit...especially the strength training…

My new/finished tat!
I'm so excited that it is finally done! This piece has taken about 10 hours (3 sittings) and has cost me a pretty penny but I LOVE it! I love it even more that it is on a slim-ish (still have just under 20 pounds to till I reach goal) body to show it off on  So, I thought I'd share my newest edition to my tattoo…

Does the 30 day shred bother anyone else's knees?
I love this video and I did day 3 today but holy crap do the jumping jacks and jump rope bother my knees. Just wondering if it bothers anyone else and what you did about it. Did you modify that part with something else or just end up quitting...or did it get better? I don't really want to quit but I don't know if I can a…

Do you log grocery shopping?
I'm just curious as to who logs their grocery shopping as part of their exercises. Is it actually considered exercise? I guess it could be. I generally walk pushing the cart for a good 30 - 45 minutes and then loading and unloading the groceries. Sometimes I log it and sometimes I don't and I was just curious as to what…
