Right now I'm netting right around 1300-ish...right around my BMR so I consume around 1650-1750.

Yup, I agree with this. People are looking for the easy diet plan...not a life style change that takes time, hard work and dedication. I just ignore the eye rolls or give it back to them when they tell me about their no bread, no dairy diet or their eating seaweed soup for X amount of days and then switch to dandelion…

I went from a C cup o a fairly small B and I was/am pretty sad about it. I liked my boobs and now they are flat pancakes ( from having 2 kids) that need a lot of padding to make them look nice and have cleavage  my husband says he still loves them but I don't .

I'm 5' 2.9" and currently weigh 145.6lbs. I just bought 3 new pairs of jeans in a size 28, 29, and 30 (I don't know what that equals in the 0-18 sizes...I think size 8-10?). It depends on the make to what size I am.

Ya, that's just it! The other sites are so vague for activity and everyone is different from the amount of sleep they get to actual day to day activity. If this site is accurate then I'm burning more calories than I originally figured out using the other sites. Ugh...why can't they all be the same to make figuring all this…
-
Maybe the difference is that it asks you for everything you do in day where the others only ask you about exercise. I exercise 3 - 5 days/week but my job also has me walking around and being lightly active. I don't know but it was interesting to see a 400 calorie jump.
-
If it's basic stuff like chicken, rice and veggies I'll log it in separately but if it's something with lots go ingredients in it I use the recipe maker. That way it's all there or the next time I make that dish/meal.
-
Interesting, that calculator is about a 400 calorie difference from most other sites. I wonder how accurate it is. I think you would be listed as moderate.

You can look around by the oatmeal or in the organic section. I think I found the package I bought by the oatmeal.
-
This! I do this with any homemade thing I make whether it be a new recipe for supper or cookies. It's a rough estimate but it's better than nothing.
-
That's awesome! It feels so great when you get to buy clothes in a smaller size. I was absolutely beside myself when I fit into a size 28 and 29 jean for the first time in about 14 years! Congrats and enjoy your new smaller pair of pants!

AmyRhubarb, do you use the "get strong" workouts? I'm wondering how good they will be for strength training to build muscle.
-
I think anyone can use it, men or women. At least that's what i've read when i searched for reviews on the app on the internet. I would guess that men just use a heavier weight.
-
Has anyone used the "Get Strong" workouts? I tried this app for the first time today and did a workout in that section "worth the weight" to be exact. I want to build more muscle to lower my body fat % (hopefully) so thought I'd give that a try.
-
I put this app on my ipad a few weeks ago and used it for the first time today. I did some circuit training on my weight resistance machine first for about 15 -20 min. before starting the app but I did the "Get Strong-worth the weight" intermediate level for 30 minutes. All together I burnt 417 calories for roughly 50 min.…

I don't eat my exercise calories back because I'm working up to my TDEE-15% (-10%, -5%, and then maintenance ) which includes the exercise. I will be eating the same number of calories no matter what. I'm close to my goal weight so I need to start eating more at a slow pace ( upping calories a little bit at a time) for…
-
I actually don't count my exercise calories. I log them but don't eat them. I am slowly upping my calories to TDEE-15%. My calories were set t just over 1400 and I upped them to just over 1600 so I always make sure I eat1600. I'm just using mfp to log and count my food, not for the exercise part of logging. I only log it…

Nothing huh...no love  lol ...all well, guess I'll just keep it as active since I think that's what I am

Just outside of Calgary, AB. Add me if you'd like

I love speghetti squash! I steem mine for about 40 - 45 min and it comes out pretty soft. I cut it into quarters. I eat it on it's own as a veggie with some butter, salt and pepper and also use it as a speghetti.

I'm turning 41 in May. Anyone can add me if they'd like, always welcome new friends

I just took a look on YouTube for beginner workouts. There are so many, how do know which are good ones to use? What are some of everyone's favourite videos?
-
Well, thank you everyone! You've given me a lot to think about.
-
Well, I didn't pay for the video but why do you say it's a waste of maney? Just curious...trying to get all the facts, info, etc. before investing in something like this.
-
Those are kind of like the ones in her video except hers were round. That's the kind I think I'd like to get.
-
I have no idea, I've never done them .

My goal is to strengthen my body and build a little bit of muscle. I don't really have room for a weight set right now.
