  • Yes and I've been pretty sore this week from lifting so I usually see an increase on the scale from that. Mostly my intentional exercise hasn't changed much, but I'm trying to walk more at work and be more active outside of exercising. I'm wondering if I wasn't tracking accurately before so I was actually eating more than…
  • Fitness blender is on YouTube and it's awesome. They have a wide variety of intensities but on their website you can search by fitness level.
  • As a reminder, my goal weight is 120 lbs so I'm not far off from that at 122.6 but I lost those last 5 lbs so quickly it's really throwing me off.
  • I'm losing weight way too fast and I don't get it! I was maintaining pretty solidly eating 1700 calories a day for many weeks. Like I mentioned before, I had been getting less active but was still exercising on a regular basis so not like I was sedentary. It's been less than 2 weeks and I've gone from 128 to 122.6?! I'm…
  • Ugh, this! I'm so cold in the morning as it is! I wear a t-shirt and sweatpants to bed so I do take off the sweatpants just because they're heavy. But I leave on the tshirt.
  • ^^This is true! I lost 90 lbs so I was used to getting comments along the way from other people... in real life but also on the app from mfp friends. Once you hit maintenance, some of that external motivation stops. People who know me now basically just know me at this weight. Every once in a while I see somebody that I…
  • I went through the same thing when I started maintenance. I missed seeing the scale go down and it felt discouraging even though my intention was to maintain. I started focusing on more fitness related goals and that helped. Eventually you just get used to the scale not moving and you're just happy it's not going up lol.
  • Oh man, I've made a lot of permanent changes. Hard to name just a few. Daily exercise I eat Greek yogurt for a snack every afternoon I eat several homemade salads a week I eat out just as often, but make informed decisions and usually end up splitting a meal with my toddler so I keep my calories lower I stopped eating Mac…
  • Sometimes I just have coffee for breakfast because I know I have a big lunch planned and I need the extra calories. I am still mindful of my macros and getting enough protein in particular.
  • Me too! I eat 200 calories of m&ms every night and usually a cookie after lunch. Lost 90 lbs. I'm calling it the m&m diet, I may write a book.
  • Healing does take calories so if you have a big deficit I'd eat more. But I also know when I'm sick that I'm waaay less active so I'm using fewer calories as well. So I just don't need as many as usual anyway.
  • I think the longer you do it, the more predictable it is. My diet the day before doesn't usually mean much to what the scale says unless I way overeat salty food and then it'll definitely be up. But like others have said, hormonal things, bowel movements, activity levels, etc all impact it. If I wake up sore from a…
  • I have changed my perspective on "falling off the wagon". I lost 90 lbs and have been in maintenance for a while so there were tons and tons of times where I was eating above maintenance for a day or several days. But I didn't view it as failure. I told myself that it was not a big deal but unless I wanted to gain 90 lbs…
  • I have 4 kids under 8 and lost 90 lbs over the course of a year or so. Some things I did: Prelogged. I didn't just eat when they ate, or even what they ate. For instance, they love macaroni and cheese but I found that it didn't fill me up and I was hungry within an hour. So I'd make them macaroni and I'd make myself a…
  • Yes ma'am!! It's been amazing. Preparing for that Friday snowstorm that is apparently coming. :/
  • Well that definitely is true, but sometimes I gain the motivation after I get started. I really wasn't motivated but once I started increasing my activity level and cutting my calories the motivation started showing up again! It's been a good week! I have been more active and keeping right at 1450 calories. My weight had…
  • Agree with above comments. I'm 5'2.5" and 127 pounds. I maintain at around 1700. That's with me being sedentary when I'm at work 3 days a week and lightly active at home with 4 young kids the rest of the week. I work out 5 days a week doing weight lifting and HIIT and Zumba and kickboxing, depending on the day! 2100 sounds…
  • Thanks again for all the advice and comments! I read everything and it was really helpful. The first 3 days back on the weight loss band wagon went well so I'm feeling more motivation. I've stuck to 1450 and increased my overall activity level every day. The weight I had gained on Valentine's day is gone so that feels…
  • I'm 5'2.5" and 127 lbs. I've been maintaining at 1700 calories a day. That's with about 4 days a week of moderate exercise (combination strength training and cardio). I work 3 days a week and I'm sedentary there but active at home with 4 young kids. I use the TDEE method and it took me a while to find the number that works…
  • I've been in maintenance for a while but decided to lose a few pounds so I dropped to 1450 calories. I'm 5'2.5" and weigh 127. My goal is 120. I was maintaining at around 1700.
  • I kind of feel like I'll never be done with it all. I know that anytime I lose focus, I end up gaining weight and I have to refocus to lose it again. It sucks, but for those of us who have a tendency to overeat it's just reality. I do feel good that I maintained for almost a year before reaching this point of wanting to…
  • Yeah, that's why I'm trying to tackle it now. I had a friend sort of give me a hard time about it, implying that I was thin enough so why was I worrying about it. It's not like I think I'm fat, it's just that I can see the scale trending upward and I don't want it to continue. I do strength train already, although no…
  • I recently weaned my 2 year old and I certainly did NOT lose any weight! In fact, it's been a lot harder for me to maintain my weight since I stopped nursing.
  • Thank you all! There's some really good advice here. I'm going to see how the 1450 goes for this week and if it feels maintainable. I could definitely just eat at a smaller deficit and lose weight much more slowly. I'm in no hurry to lose it. I also could try to increase my activity level again. It's been so hard with the…
  • Lucky!! I'm maintaining at 1700 calories now. I know it's because of winter and being less active. Over the summer I would lose weight on 1700 but now I have to be careful not to go over or I will gain. 1700 certainly isn't starving but I was happier eating around 2000 last summer. I've thought about losing a few more…
  • I'm 5'2.5" and started at 212. I maintain between 122-127 and I feel great. I probably could lose weight, I definitely have more weight I'm carrying around my belly and thighs. But my boobs are tiny and my upper body in generally looks extremely thin so I would prefer not to lose more.
  • Yep it's just a week. This happens to me every once in a while like if I'm on vacation or something. I just jump back into it when I get back to my routine and any weight I gained comes right off.
  • I don't pay attention to my sodium numbers at all. I lost 90 pounds and it never affected the scale. I eat out often so I'm sure it's usually high but I feel fine.
  • Oh goodness, please don't aim to lose 5 lbs a week! You don't have that much weight to lose and with breastfeeding you don't want to lose more than 1 pound a week or your milk supply will drop quickly. You're only 6 weeks post partum. Take a deep breath and slow down, this isn't a race. If you are so hungry that you feel…
