I eat out a lot but at fast food restaurants where it's relatively easy for me to find a meal for 600 calories. It's hard for me to justify a sit down restaurant where the meals are often 1200 calories! I only eat 1700 a day to maintain so that's too high. If I do go out, I split my meal with someone or save half of it.…

I have to eat breakfast or I'm hangry. I don't eat much, usually I stick to about 200 calories and that's enough to get me through the morning. I have young kids who wake up early so we usually eat lunch by 11. I do find that I prefer a large lunch, like 600 calories or so. If I eat something small, it sets the tone for me…

I break down the meal and enter it into MFP's recipe builder. When I title the meal, I put a serving size in parentheses like this: Spaghetti with meat sauce (250 g). Usually we make our meals fairly similarly each time. Maybe it's not the exact same amount of ground beef, but for my purposes it's close enough. So then I…

Absolutely!! I lost 90 lbs and I've been maintaining since last year. I'm almost never motivated. Maybe at first I was motivated to not be obese anymore, but it got harder as I went along and in maintenance it can be near impossible to be motivated. But I have my habits. I log my food, I exercise every day, and I weigh…

It wouldn't surprise me if there's some truth to that. I spent close to 30 years of my life overweight and many years obese and just resigned myself to being fat. But I lost 90 lbs and I have been maintaining the loss since last April. This takes effort for me though. It's not impossible, but I have to be very mindful…

On YouTube search for fitnessblender low impact. That should give you some good beginner videos and you can work your way up.

Another fitnessblender vote. Been using it for years and never get bored because there's so much variety. I did invest in adjustable weights and that made a huge difference in my fitness level but there are lots of the videos that don't require weights.

I lost 50 lbs in college, but I did it by eating a low calorie diet, working out a ton, and cutting out all the "bad foods" that I enjoyed. Because I was under eating and working out so much, I couldn't keep up that lifestyle. I never reached a point of maintaining my loss. I didn't even know that maintenance was a…

I maintain on 1700 a day. I weigh a little less than you and am a little shorter. I think technically I would lose on 1700 a day slowly over time if I actually stuck to it but I often splurge on the weekends so I probably average a bit higher.

Try the food scale. Log consistently. It's not necessary to work out two times a day. Don't stop logging if you don't see immediate changes, stick with it. Do you eat back exercise calories?

I eat plenty of bread and cheese. Sometimes I have trouble meeting my protein goals though so they have those Protein up wraps (can't remember their name, flat outs maybe?) so I replace my bread from sandwiches with those wraps to increase protein. But I still often eat those bread and cheese! Cheese is a great source of…

I like those Chobani Greek yogurt flip things. Some are 200 calories and some are 100. They are high in protein so more filling. That's usually what I eat in the afternoon. In the evening I like popcorn.

There's a negative food entry for breastfeeding. I added 500 extra calories until he started eating more solid food then decreased to 300, then decreased to 200 once he turned 1. He still nurses in the mornings sometimes but I don't log extra calories anymore.

This happened to me. I started losing weight about 3 years ago, and I lost 35 lbs using MFP (but still had more to go). I found out I was pregnant, and though I was excited about the baby, my disappointment came from the fact that I still had more weight to lose and I was worried that once the baby was born, I wouldn't be…

I am 5'2.5" and when I got to 138 I was considered a healthy weight so I stopped for a while and maintained. After maybe 3 months I decided I wanted to lose more so I got down to 123 and felt great there. I still have fat I could lose but I'm honestly just content where I'm at. I don't want to spend the rest of my life…

I save 300-400 calories for a late evening snack. Trust me, I'm way happier like this. Usually it's a big bowl of popcorn and a cup of (carefully weighed out) m&ms. I have 4 kids, and 9 pm is the only calm quiet time I get to eat during my day so there's no way I'm giving that up. I lost 90 lbs doing this and have been…

Are you actually 7'2"? My husband is that tall and I've never met anyone else that height so I was just curious, lol.

Name: Vicky Total Weight lost: 85-90 lbs (depending on where in my maintenance range I am!) Time it took to lose: About 1 year How long in maintenance: Since April of 2016 Maintenance weight range: 123-127. Mid 120s feels good to me. I've been a bit on the high end since coming back from vacation. I was 126 on 1/2/17 after…

I lost 90, the last 50 were about the same as the first 40. :) I did start pushing myself harder with workouts the more I lost and focused more on macros rather than just calorie goals.

I've had a cold for like 10 days now. I'm so sick of it. I've only worked out about 3 times of those 10 days and I felt bad after each time. I work out at home so I don't worry about germs but I had to force myself to get any motivation to do it and then my body definitely didn't feel great. Listen to your body, do a light…

I drink tons of diet soda and I don't feel hungry all the time. Diet soda is not the problem.

I lost 50 lbs in college, from 190 down to 140. I never really got to the point of maintaining, once I lost the weight I just started gaining again. I started grad school and had significant stress and honestly just stopped caring. I put the weight on slowly throughout grad school so I was up around 200 again once I…

That's awesome! I'm sort of interested in a marathon at Disney, but I really don't enjoy running. At all. But I like the idea of it! Cool! I wish I could go more often, but living waaaay up north and having 4 kids makes for a long drive or an expensive flight. Maybe one day I'll live in Florida in the winters. :)

Yay!! Me too!

I did this last year! It was great, I didn't feel deprived and I was pleasantly surprised to see I was able to maintain all month. I jumped right back in in January and finished my weight loss. This year I'm in maintenance so it's a bummer not to have that cushion.

I lost 90 lbs while breastfeeding my almost 2 year old. He's still nursing once a day in the mornings, though I think I'd be happy to be done. He's my 4th breastfed baby and I totally thought I was one of those women who couldn't lose weight while breastfeeding with past babies. Turns out I just wasn't doing it right! It's…

I love to snack. I eat a big bowl of popcorn and a small (weighed out) cup of m&ms every night before bed. Hasn't hindered my weight loss, 90 lbs down and in maintenance for 6 months! I prefer a more filling afternoon snack though. My favorite is Chobani Greek yogurt crunch things, only 100 calories but 12 g of protein and…
