I measure and weigh every Sunday.

Single Mom here too and up until April I had no real motivation to get back in shape either. But something finally clicked and I realized that I needed to make it a priority. I started out by changing my eating habits-you can do that with no extra time involved. As soon as I put my little one to bed I would do a 20 min.…

Wow! Great job! You look fabulous!

To go back to Miami looking HOT! I went a few years ago and let me tell you, being fat in the South Beach night club scene was DEPRESSING! So, when I look fierce I'm going back and making that town my b*tch ;).

I have only lost 38lbs, but... -I now wear a 14 in jeans( and very close to a size 12), instead of a 20! -I wear medium-large in shirts, instead of 2X! -my double-chin is gone! -I have muscle definition in my arms and shoulders! -I can see my collar bone! -My knees no longer hurt when standing up! -My feet are shrinking…

I do. Mowing the grass, trimming the bushes, weeding, raking, all of it. If I'm out there for a couple of hours or more that's a lot of energy expended and I usually feel it the next day. Definitely count it. When I was working in my yard several times a week AND doing formal exercise I was losing 3-4 lbs a week. When it…

Hmmm...I don't have "cheat" meals or days. I "treat" myself to small servings of chocolate, chips, or whatever, whenever I have a craving for something, they always fit into my calorie goal for the day though. But, if I were to have a meal of complete indulgence with no worries about calories, measuring/weighing,etc., then…

It's all in the smile-you feel better and more confident and your smile reflects that. Great job! You look great!

Well done! You look great!

Awesome job! You look amazing!

Congrats! You are glowing and looking energized and youthful!

I log everything, fruit included. I even weigh them for accuracy. I have fruit and/or a vegetable at every meal, so not counting them would be misleading for my calories for the day. For me, calories are calories, no matter where they're from...

Just came across this article about how to handle the "diet wreckers" in your life: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/weight-loss/tips/diet-tips/weight-loss-support-tips/

Your success and commitment at weight loss and being healthy is probably making her feel bad about her weight issues. If she's a close friend then explain to her nicely your reasons for wanting to be healthy. You could also offer to help her "if" she's interested in getting healthy, as well. And if, after extending an…

Here's a link to a recent article in Women's Magazine about protein and weight loss. It says women should have .5-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. If you're trying to lose weight stay on the lower end of the spectrum and if you're active on the higher end. If you're both, then stay in the middle. And yeah, MFP…

This^^^^but I weigh myself on Wednesday ONLY if my fickle b*tch of a scale doesn't say what I would like it to say on Sunday :).

Wow! You're a super hero in my book!

I used to think that way too, have the "all or nothing" mindset But that type of mindset will set you up for failure every time. One mistake, one moment of weakness, whatever you want to call it, doesn't have to turn into another and another. The very fact that you acknowledged you have eaten a whole bunny and that it…

Congrats! I too just left the "obese" category this week. Now, I'm just overweight! Woop, woop ;)!!

What keeps me going is seeing hints of my old body coming back, being able to run, actually run around with my toddler, and just looking better and feeling healthier all around-physically, psychologically, etc...whenever I don't feel like working out or can't for whatever reason, then I commit to eating extra healthy for…

http://www.womenshealthmag.com/weight-loss/protein-weight-loss This article suggests that women have between .5-1 gram of protein per pound of weight. If you're trying to lose weight stay at the lower end of the spectrum and stay at the higher end if you're very active. If you're both then somewhere in the middle.

I also do midnight-midnight. I workout late at night before bed, so I often log my exercise for the previous day even if it's after midnight when I finish. But my post work-out snack I log in the current day. Just do what works for you and keep the logging consistent so you don't trip yourself up. And as someone previously…

Way to go! You look fantastic!

I had a full term food baby in April and now I'm down to 4-5 months along ;). I've mainly done Zumba-cardio party dvd, flat abs dvd, and sculpt and tone dvd. I added Jillian Michael's Burn fat, Boost metabolism about a month ago and that's helped, as well. All of those dvds have exercises that not only burn serious…

I also eat 1200-1400 calories a day. I usually stay closer to 1200, since I workout at the end of the day, and if by chance I don't feel like working out or can't, I stay close to my net calories. Up until 2 weeks ago, I also worked out for an hour 5-6 days a week, doing mainly Zumba. Then a month ago I added a Jillian…

I love Zumba! I have the original DVD workout set and in 12 weeks I lost 30lbs and several inches doing Zumba only. Some people prefer classes, but I like doing it at home-too many variables dictate how intense the workout is/isn't with different instructors, etc. But, if you love to dance, then Zumba is a great way to go,…

Input "calisthenics" for push-ups, sit-ups, etc and "strength training" for weights.

Wow! You look fabulous-great job!

It took me 7 weeks to lose 20lbs and 12 weeks to lose 30lbs. This past Sunday was a full 17 weeks and I'm down 37lbs. I eat a lot of fruits, veggies, chicken, and salmon. My snacks are usually plain Greek yogurt with flax seed and fresh fruit, almonds, and I still have sweets when I want, I just figure them into my day. I…
