It's only failure if you give up. It's not about how many times we fall. It's about dusting yourself and pressing forward. I've learned that being too hard on myself contributes to my "what's the point" thinking. I've learned that having a bad day, week, month, or year(s) doesn't mean I can't start again with a clean…

Sorry. I've been super busy with work and home life, so missed last week's check-in completely and almost this week's. But, as of 10/28/13, I was down another pound bringing me to 118. And I'm currently still 118, which is a miracle considering the Halloween candy and cookies I binged on this week. I'm definitely a…

Holding steady at 119 for the week :).

Checking in for the week. As of last Monday 10/14: SW:125 CW:119 UW:118 Things are still going well. I'm continuing to resist the urge to graze on food at work and the night eating is still at a minimum. Working out regularly is also steadily becoming a habit again. Did Zumba for the first time in months and I forgot how…

SW:125 CW:120 GW:118 The weight seems to be dropping off quickly since I curbed my middle of the night eating and stopped(mostly) grazing on the food at work. It's either that or I must have a tapeworm  . I wasn't trying to lose weight this fast. I started working in a restaurant again in May and I knew my…

Posting late again, sorry. SW:125 CW:122(down 1lb from last week) GW:118 UGW:No specific number, just want a flat belly or nearly flat. I'll know it when I see it

^^^^This. If she's truly trying to make you feel bad because she's insecure that you might become(or already are) smaller than her, then give it right back to her. And make sure you smile just like she does...maybe it will make her realize how badly she's making you feel. But, you also have to NOT let her get under your…

I think the point is we aren't talking about conventional beauty, what society defines as beautiful...why should she limit herself to the constraints of other people's definition of beauty, even if it is how the majority of the world thinks? Why should anyone let someone else or society define them? So many of us are…

^^^^^This. Her reasons for taking those pictures were not to proclaim she was physically healthy. It was so that she could learn to love herself in the body she's currently in...to love herself, despite the public and internal voices saying she should loathe herself. Hating yourself is NOT healthy, as well. This was about…

CW:123-I'm down 1.5lbs from last week! It was a nice surprise

A flat belly, no back fat, and to get rid of all the jiggle in my thighs, *kitten*, and arms.

Weight loss is actually MORE about what you eat than exercising. So yes, you can lose weight without exercise, just like you've already been doing. Exercise helps with your cardiovascular health, toning/muscle development, etc...So keep eating healthy and add more cardio/strength training when you are able. Eating mostly…

Checking in a day late, but I'm down a 1/2lb. SW:125 CW:124.5

^^^^This for sure! However, I've also learned that going over my calories one day or even two days is not a deal breaker. I just make up for it during the rest of the week. But, I didn't get that "relaxed" about my eating until I was over halfway through my journey. As you progress, you will figure out what works and…

So, if I'm not on your original "members" list, I can still "join" in the challenge? I need some motivation to re-jump start my journey. I have maybe 10 or so more pounds to lose, all in the belly/butt/thigh area. I'm lucky enough to be able to camouflage it with clothes, but I want to be as healthy and fit as I can be.…

Here is another great resource. I don't think it's been listed yet. http://pinterest.com/justeatrealfood/

I've eaten before bed through most of my weight loss journey(and I lost 78lbs in a year), sometimes because I worked out at night and always have a post workout snack. And sometimes because I simply can't sleep on an empty stomach. Eating right before bed has not made me store fat as some people seem to think will happen.…

Awesome progress! You look great and I bet you feel great too!

I eat carrots almost every day and several servings of fruit every day, and I lost 76 pounds in a year. So, as far as I can tell, it hasn't slowed down my weight loss journey. Like everyone else said, don't worry about the natural sugar that is in fruits and veggies, and focus on limiting processed/refined sugars. I also…

You look terrific! Well done!

Congrats on your success and total life changing transformation! Very inspiring indeed. I tried spinning about 9 yrs ago when I first began to put on weight and I considered it a form of torture, but I may give it another shot :). Congrats, again!

It's called calorie cycling. And apparently it does help with boosting your metabolism, since your body never knows how many calories to expect on any given day, it can't stabilize/slow down, etc. As long as you meet your weekly calorie goal, you can fluctuate your calories daily. I discovered this accidently during the…

Well done! Great transformation in just two months!

Are you watching your sodium intake? Are you on your period or about to start? All those things will make you retain more water than usual. Whether it's water weight or actual weight, you still need to continue doing the things that help you lose weight-eating lots of fruit and veggies, lean protein, whole grains, high…

Well done! Congrats on your success so far!

I try to just give helpful hints. So if they had a dish that was heavy on the calories/fat/sodium, I would tell them ways to tweak it to make it lighter, healthier, etc...I don't comment that often anymore on diaries and only when I feel like I have something "real" to contribute...

Weight loss/increased physical activity can affect your cycle. Mine has been haywire too since starting this journey almost a year ago. My periods have always been light, but now sometimes I'll get cramps, bloating, etc., but a nearly invisible flow. If it weren't for the cramps I wouldn't even realize I'm on my period…

I work out at home and besides doing circuit training with Jillian Michael's dvds, I also strength train with dumbbells and resistance bands 3 days a week. I like to lift while watching tv. It seems to help with the monotony. And my sessions are 30-40 minutes, which go by fast when watching something. I would get a range…
