Take some food with you and cook at night. It's what I had to resort to. Good luck with that. Seriously. Going home has always been one of the biggest causes of a derailed diet for me

Wow. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this problem. Any time I go home, my parents are like "Lets get Chinese," or they want to go to the local "Everything-Is-Fried" joint. Mom actually said "Well it's okay, you can get a salad without cheese, bacon or dressing!" Yeah. That's what I want to do. Watch all of you enjoy…

Hey! That's a really good idea...I may actually try that. Thanks!

I think I'm going to DCI Atlanta. All of the corps are going to be there. I am so excited! I didn't get to go to a show last year (except for the one at JSU), but Atlanta is awesome! Which DCA corps are up that way? I can't remember for the life of me.

Congrats on your engagement!!! That's wonderful news! By the way, I absolutely love the Mustang in your profile picture. I've got one too, but I refuse to take pictures in it until a.) I'm sexy, or b.) it runs. Either way. Anyway, congrats again and keep up your healthy lifestyle!

I'm actually hoping to do CorpsVets from Atlanta next summer (part of the reason I'm getting in shape--those baritones are freaking heavy!). I've been very impressed with DCA over the past few years. They've really improved the quality of their shows. It'll be a worthwhile life experience at any rate. If you could get into…

My husband isn't a snacker. He's a fast food addict. I've begged, pleaded, cajoled, bribed, and done everything that I can to help keep him on track. He has high blood pressure, which isn't helping his cause, and is also slightly hypoglycemic. I've used every trick in the book (and a few that I made up) to try to help him…

My primary instrument is flute, but I picked up baritone the year before I would have aged out, learned to play it, and then had NO money to march (I was going to go with Spirit of JSU since they were on campus). I'm a pretty big Vanguard fan too. It's nice to see someone else on here who has any clue about DCI.
-
Skywalker: Thanks! Yes, I'm a huge DCI fan (Madison Scouts Old School!) and I marched Baritone at Jacksonville State University for 4 years...That's me in the picture on my ticker (I'm the short one, lol). TeenTchr: Oh yes...I'm definitely helping her move. There's nothing quite like the free labor of friends/relatives who…

My weekly check-in (this is the first one I've done since joining the Halfers Club) Starting Weight: 270 Current Weight: 246 (down 3.2 pounds) Goal Weight: 130 Only 3 more pounds until I reach my goal for July (hopefully I can do it by next week if I keep it up so my September goal will be easier to reach). Keep up the…

So yeah...here's my first official Pink team weigh-in: Starting Weight: 270 Current Weight: 246.0 Goal Weight: 130 I lost 3.2 pounds this week, and goodness did I work for them! Jillian is killing me! I hoped to lose a bit more because my last weigh-in was a bit inflated due to girl issues, but yeah. I'm still pretty…

I just list it as circuit training.

I always try (and note the word "try," because it doesn't always work so well) to include fresh veggies and fruits into my diet plan. If you fill up on them, you feel more satisfied for a longer period of time and you won't feel as much of a craving for starchy or ..erm..carb-y foods. It's harder for your body to digest…

Congrats on your 5K! I can't wait to experience that feeling! Knowing that other people here have done it partially convinces me that I won't die, lol. Keep up the good work and you should be so amazingly incredibly proud of yourself!

I like the Shred so far. I'm on day 5 of Level 2 (I took a while in Level 1 to get my fitness level up). There's a lot of plyometrics (jump training) in Levels 2 and 3, so if you have any lower body injury (bad knees especially), you might want to look for something that is lower impact or stick to the easier versions of…

I made it through Jillian Michaels Level 2 of the 30-Day Shred despite all of the freaking plank work. I've never had good upper body strength but today I made it!

When I'm lacking in the calorie department, I have either baked lays or an apple. You can never go wrong with fruit, and it kind of satisfies a sweet tooth!
-
Just FYI, my husband and I made this recipe and it was freaking awesome! We loved it! Try it and I guarantee you'll like it.

I get in funks where it's an absolute struggle for me to do what I need to do and almost literally have to be kicked in the butt to do what I need to do. Had it not been for the fact that I have banned ALL junk food from our house, I wouldn't have lost a single pound. The best way to combat stuff like that is a.) taking…

Which Tae Bo workout are you using (I love Tae-Bo. It makes me feel special)? Congrats on coming here and starting a new lifestyle, btw. And good luck in your weight loss!:flowerforyou:

Do you mind if I join the Pink team? I've been lacking motivation as of late (although I still get my stuff done) and I think that if I have to post my weight on a forum that maybe I'll be a bit more motivated.
-
Thank you all for your kind words. It means so much to me as far is motivation is concerned to hear and see people supporting me in my goals to get healthy. I'm determined to focus and work hard on getting into running. I loved it as a kid and I still enjoy it. Thanks so much again!
-
Yeah, being a boy may be much worse in the long run, lol. Thanks for all the advice!
-
So basically it's one of those highly individual experiences ~sigh~? I know I stepped on a scale before I dried my hair and then after and I'd gained a pound. I know that your weight fluctuates daily, but it seems to be worse right now. I hate being a girl.

I have taken just about every over the counter diet pill/weight loss supplement ever made. Slim-Quick, Cytolean, Anoretix, Stackers, Stacker 2, Stacker 3, Hydroxycut, Slimquick for Women, Lipo 6, and a whole bunch of others. I would diet and exercise while taking them, then I'd lose a whole bunch of weight. But it all…

This particular program may not be for you. There isn't something that works for everyone. However, you don't need to give up. It's not just about losing weight and looking good. It's about being healthy and making a positive change in your life. I know that it's incredibly hard to lose weight while watching over children,…

Hey everyone! I need a place for motivation for people in a similar condition to myself. Would it be alright if I joined you all in my journey? I need all the support I can get. My life is going to be changing a whole bunch in the next year +, and I want one of those changes to be me being half the woman I am now (as my…

We should seriously start a team. I think it would help with the motivation factor. Anyone in?

I had been dieting and exercising religiously and noticed that my scale numbers were doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. Then they started inching up. I had been without my monthy visit for a while, so I forgot completely about it and started getting really confused and increasingly irritated about it. Then today, I…

Heck yeah! I need all the motivation I can get!
