My first fifty..
So I've lost fifty pounds. Fifty flipping pounds. Yay! I'm not on the target that I thought I would be, but it would make me incredibly happy if I could lose twenty more by graduation (in the middle of December). Normally I wouldn't post something like this, but I think I needed a bit of perspective. I've been slacking off…

Laxatives?
So I've got a question. I took a laxative last night (I hadn't gone to the bathroom in three days, not because I thought it was the quick way to lose weight...That's unhealthy!) and for some reason, when I stepped on the scale this morning, I had gained almost three pounds from what I was the previous two days. Has this…

Low-Calorie Recipes
I have quite a few low calorie recipes that my husband and I use for dinner every night. The problem is, we use them EVERY NIGHT. Does anyone have a suggestion (apart from Slim-fast.com and sparkpeople.com) for a website that can provie low-calorie recipes that are relatively affordable? My tastebuds would be eternally…

Quick Question.
I'm doing the Couch to 5K and moving on to week 2 today. Maybe. I need some advice. If I run today, I'll run again on Wednesday, after having helped my sister move all day. However, if I wait until Tomorrow, I can miss the moving completely and have some time to rest. Anyone have an opinion? PLEASE let me know.

Heck-to the-yeah.
I haven't had much to brag about as far as my physical condition in quite some time. I've actually been pretty ashamed of my physical conditioning. So here it is. I did the first day of the first week of the Couch to 5K program and didn't die. I didn't breathe hard. I didn't scream. I didn't freaking quit. I kept on and it…

A Girl-Problem Question (Guys avoid!)
So I've never really been one to keep constant track of my weight (but it seems to be working quite well for motivation) and my question is this: About how long after your monthly cycle does it take for you to lose your water weight? I've gained about 1.5 pounds of water weight from it and I was just wondering because I…

Shocking your System
I've researched, researched, and reaserched some more. I'm currently in the throes of either PMS (very unlikely) or a plateau. I've read that shocking your system with one high calorie meal every few weeks helps to keep your metabolism from stagnating. I've read it from doctors, \personal trainers, dieticians, and everyone…

Calorie Cycling
Has anyone else tried calorie cycling? Have you seen results with it? Just curious. I know it supposedly works for body builders and is fairly effective at mantaining a high metabolism, but I want to hear people's experiences, successes, or failures with this program before I consider it.

Plateauing---A Heads Up
What causes a plateau? I haven't hit one yet, but I'm pretty sure that I will if I keep on losing weight at the rate I'm losing it. I try to eat my calories, but I'm doing quite well to hit 1200 (due to financial constraints as well as general lack of appetite), let alone eating my exercise calories. So I need advice. How…

Weight-loss question
Last week I had a pretty surprising weight loss--I lost five pounds (some of which was undoubtedly water weight) and I'm curious as to whether or not anyone here has seen stagnant numbers or weight gain after such a major loss. I know that the body has to even itself out, but I was just curious as to what others have…

My first 20.
I didn't expect to have lost 20 pounds so soon, but I cannot believe it! I am the lightest that I have been in 2 years and I am more active, healthier, and feel so much better than I have in years! You really can't tell that much of a difference to look at me, but I have lost 20 pounds! Now I only have 10 more to go by…

I need advice...
How beneficial would taking a day to rest from my exercise be? I've been staying at it consistently for six days per week and still walking, but not doing strength training, on the seventh. I guess what I'm asking is would it hinder or help my overall fitness to leave off strength training for one day per week?

Pounds vs. Inches
I know that the more accurate measurement of your progress as far as weight loss is concerned is measuring how many inches you've lost instead of pounds, due to water retention, muscle building, fat burning, etc. But I have a question and I haven't been able to find a truly satisfactory answer to it. Maybe someone here can…

Trouble meeting goals....
Is anyone else here having trouble eating all of their calories for the day? Especially when they exercise? I mean, I don't think I've gone over 1300 calories yet, and my daily goal is 1500. I'm just not hungry and I can't eat at all. Does anyone have any advice?

Weigh-in advice
I am a bit confused as to when you should weigh in. I used to weigh in first thing in the morning, but as it turns out, I retain water all through the night and it looks as though I'm not losing anything or as much as I should given the losses in my measurements. So I started doing it later in the morning after I'd done my…

30-Day Shred
Does anyone know how many calories each level of Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred burns? I'm starting it but I have no idea how much to enter. I know a lot of people use it but I can't find anything about the calories burned. Thanks for the help!:glasses:

Cleaning.....
...For 2 hours burns 599 calories (light cleaning, moderate effort), according to the database. Does anyone have any idea if this is accurate or not? Because if it is, I'm cleaning every dang day for 2 hours.

Doing it on your own.....
I know that there are many diet and exercise programs out there which are available for a nominal fee. Places like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, gym memberships, and hiring a personal trainer are all excellent tools to help lose or maintain your weight. However, not everyone can afford to go out and hire a trainer or a gym…
