Nope, none for you. I was given this range of healthy fat for my food intake from a well known weight loss site (specifically in the words; "shouldn't exceed 40-51 grams each day". That site well-known and is an older site than MFP. But, that said, just picture me as knowing nothing at all about anything and again, and…

WHATEVER. just trying to contribute. And re: "I'd like to see something to back this statement up"... I don't feel the need to back up my statements and I'm sure the group will appreciate your more factual data from the Harvard School of Public Health. Will keep my trap shut from now on.

True that. While salmon is a healthy fat, our healthy fat intake shouldn't exceed 40-51 grams each day. So yes, but remember, even to much good fat, is a bad thing.

Sex'ah! You are rockin' it and your confidence is off the charts! Gorgeous house, too by the way!!!

Fantastic job! You are highly motivating!

Me too! Grill it, chop it up, add chopped broccoli and a small amount of brown rice = healthy chicken bowl

Good question! This is why I don't go jogging and running in broad daylight! All good thoughts and advice and compassion here. Yes, to all of it. If it was me in your shoes I'd think it was me he was directing his comment to. Not because he was, but because; so sadly, and don't get me wrong or out of context here, but he…

Really? Hate? I will be glad to get rid of everything and I can't think of a think that I would miss. Be gone; all of it!

It's not like we can't go back and read the thread to see who it is. As many people noted, or is implied, many of us have different body types, and shapes. After my first year in college I came home weighing 121-lbs and looked amazing and healthy. I had the appetite of a football team so I was hardly undernourished -- it's…

Congratulations of the 42-lbs so far! By the way, I love your Ticker! I'm a huge fan of MasterChef!

I just answered a similar post about how much to lose by Labor Day. I have built a spreadsheet that predicts I will have lost 21-lbs by labor Day (I've already lost 10 so 11-lbs to go by Labor Day). My spreadsheet has me 10-lbs over my (first) goal, or a scheduled loss of 54-lbs. Having lost 10-lbs, that will be a 44-lbs…

Technically, you should be eating several healthy snacks per day instead of 'meals'. Snacks, or sometimes referred to as mini-meals might be fruit, nuts, yogurt, cheese. You might consider a healthy breakfast, snack 4- or 5-times during the day and then a small healthy dinner. NO dessert :)

Most digital scales behave this way. I have 3 in the house and each of them tell me a different weight than the other. In addition, true to each of them, when I get on one scale and note the weight, get off and back on again, the weight is changed, and the third time may also change. Each scale acts that way. So, I use the…

Exactly!! When I was 154 my Doctor wanted to see me, specifically for some reason at exactly 162-lbs. I wasn't sure about those two added lbs. LOL.

I am 5'10 (does this count) and my wrist test tells me I am small framed. At 154 I wore a size 4, 6, and 8 jeans/slacks. Pants are tricky because of cut, vanity sizes and fabrics. At 154 I was extremely skinny and at the time, quite frankly, very sick -- too much drink and too little food in those days. Currently my goal…

My scientific spreadsheet has me scheduled to be down a total of 21-lbs on September 1. I've already lost 10 (varying now in ounces up and down hovering at the 10-lbs mark) so I hope to lose 11-more by then. The schedule has me losing about .29-ounces per day. So far, so good....

California night owl! You may add me!!!

Thank you for that -- I've been arguing this point forever!

Good question! There are several viewpoints on this so it will be interesting to read the comments. Personally, I am torn on whether to eat them back, or not. I kinda stay in the middle with compromise by eating back half.

But are you wearing a HRM chest strap to monitor your heart rate? You may be moving but the Fitbit has no idea what your heart rate is which calculates the real calories burned. Most HRMs or devices without chest straps calculate a Cooke cutter calorie count built into them; possibly 6.8-calories per minute. There is not…

I bought the Jay Robbs and swore by it. It's an eggwhite protein powder so it has no carbs. At the time I was on the South Beach Diet. Back then other powders were higher in carbs than they can be now so I don't get Jay Robb's anymore -- too expensive, too. but no protein power is good to me without something in it. I use…

In a word, POLAR! :) The fitbit is a bit of a toy tracking probably more tham you need to know -- like sleep patterns. If that is important to you and want to seriously track your sleep, your calories and things other than your heart rate while doing exercise, go for the Body Bugg. Also, if the Fitbit (i believe) doesn't…

I would go buy a mini fridge for myself, put some of my own food in it and padlock it as well. And set it down next to the big padlocked fridge!
