I think WW philosophy is that they would rather you eat fruit than ice cream, or an unhealthy snack. I recall when they changed fruits to free food, they also changed the points value on all foods to make up for the "free" fruits. Regardless, counting points is the same as counting calories. Right now I prefer counting…

Plan for it. Try healthy choices. You'd be surprised that there will be some good choices. At my party I had Sea Bass and veggies, and I chose wine instead of a martini. Socialize, and don't make the food the most important thing. Relax and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!

Thanks for answering. Let's say I am eating all of this knowledge up! I think I will look at my macros more closely, try to eat healthy and stay within my calorie range. That's all I can do with my hectic lifestyle.

All sound like great ideas. I have access to a fridge and a microwave. The cooked chicken instead of the turkey is a great idea, and I love vegetable soup. I can add some chicken, or pork to that. Sounds yummy!

We had our gay wedding in 2007. My husband comes from a rural town upstate NY, and I'm from Brooklyn, NY. You can't be any opposite when it comes to growing up. City vs country. If anyone remembers the old TV show called Green Acres with Ava Gabor and Eddie Arnold, we dressed up like them and did a Green Acres skit while…

This morning I ramped up my exercise. Instead of walking the treadmill, I jogged outside. My goal was 5 miles. I guess I did more because towards the last leg of my jog, I discovered that I dropped my Fitbit somewhere. I went back at least a mile and found it. So that's another 2 miles RT. :-) I must be retaining water…

I do have a Fitbit and use it everyday. I log my exercise on MFP as well, but input the time and the minutes , so hopefully they are not causing duplication. I don't think they were dupliating because the exercise takes away from the Fitbit adjustment numbers. Today I didn't log my exercise, only synched my fitbit to MFP.…

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I have a lot to digest! :-) I am going to eat more, make sure I track everything that goes on the lips so it doesn't wind up on the hips and keep on exercising. Lifting weights is out right now due to a shoulder injury. I will also watch my sodium, fat. (lower sodium, more fat)

Yes, I forgot to mention that I weigh most of my food.

I have neglected my cardio for a few months so last weekend I started again. 5 miles per day.

Is being straight a lifestyle? I think not, just as being gay isn't. Lifestyle is a choice, being straight, gay we are all born with.

I've been asking myself this question for a long time. I wake up at 5AM, get ready for work, and get home from work at 8PM. If I get myself on the treadmill at that time, I'm tired and wind up eating dinner at 9:30-10PM. 11PM I go to sleep. With that schedule I wind up skipping the workout just because I'm exhausted by the…

Love my fitbit. I keep it with me all the time...it is a great motivator in conjunction with MFP.

I'm 54...still say that's middle aged, although I'm still a kid at heart! I've been on the low fat diet thing almost all my life, and now trying the low carb thing ala South Beach. The first few days I lost a lot of water, but now the loss has slowed. I'm still excited to be here and looking forward to a slimmer me!
