Don't get me wrong, I am a "girly" girl, but I hate chick flicks. I am guessing growing up with five brothers makes me lean more towards the action flicks. Romance movies are hardly ever realistic.

Skinny cow and vita-muffins are AWESOME~! I am eating the deep chocolate vita muffin now with half a banana, light whipped cream, sprinkled with ground flaxseed and wheat germ. Vita muffins only have 100 calories.

Also, over 40..... I am 42 and can use all the motivational friends I can get. I just have a few pounds to go but even maintaining takes discipline and motivation. A healthy lifestyle will be something I will need to stick to for the rest of my life so I am here to motivate and can use the motivation in return. :-)

I do wash everyday but also sometimes work out twice a day. I only wash with shampoo once and the 2nd time I just rinse with water. This is what my hair stylist recommended.

This is why we RARELY eat out. Grocery store food is not so great either. We have started buying whole animals and having them processed at local butcher shops. We also buy farm fresh eggs which have an orange yolk, not yellow like the sickly eggs from the grocery stores. We get deer processed during hunting season and…

With regards to the post about the flaxseed, make sure you ground it fresh everytime you use it. If you sprinkle it on your food whole, it will basically pass right through you. It will come out the same way it went in. I have a coffee grinder that I use for flaxseeds and spices. :-)

Thank you for sharing. I love cottage cheese. I have used mustard and Tzatziki sauce and that is delicious too. The Tzatziki sauce from Costco only has 25 calories per tablespoon.

Welcome! You are doing the right thing. Stay away from junk-eating friends. They are a bad influence. Surround yourself with positive, like-minded people that have the same goals as you.

I agree with the comments to limit your processed foods and salt intake. Also, you will hit a plateau from time to time. That is normal. The best thing to do when you hit a plateau is to change your exercise. If you usually swim, go for a bike ride or run. Also, incorporate some weight training. I hope this helps. :-)

I agree that it varies from person to person. It may depend on what areas you lose your weight from. For me it usually takes 8-10 pounds to lose a pant size.

Have you changed your eating habits? Are you doing weight training? I think 14 pounds is a lot of weight to lose. Sometimes when we first start out we lose water weight and if we are eating healthier with more fiber in our diets we "colon cleanse" as well.
