  • You may be able to edit meals on the Anrdoid app.. I found that you can definitely edit recipe ingredients easier on the app than on the website. In that regard.. maybe a "recipe" is what you should be using instead of a "meal"?
  • Note: I didn't read any other responses (sorry). I had this exact problem 2 years ago. I went to an allergist and had food/environmental allergy testing done. I was eventually diagnosed with Dermatographism (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatographic_urticaria) and prescribed hydroxyzine to take as a preventative…
  • I like this outlook
  • PM me and I'll share my Google Spreadsheets menu calendar with you for $20/month. Kidding. I'll share it for free :) (unless you actually do want to pay for it HAH)
  • Not sure if it's been said before, but a little bit of exercise usually helps me out! Or a small piece of chocolate, like the wonderful ladies above me have suggested. Just do as I say, not as I do - last week I had over 300 calories of chocolate and candy because it was available (i.e. FREE) at work. Never did get…
  • Nice job!! I am definitely on board with the Rita's custard -- even without a 12 mile run haha -- mmmm! Can't wait until they open on Thursday (in my area).
  • I'm so sorry about what your mother said and how it has affected you. I know exactly how you feel. Sort of. I was at my mother's house in 2012 and found my high school ID cards; one from each year of school. She immediately plucked my 10th grade ID out of my hand and announced that that one was "from when Christina…
  • The result without an asterisk has many options for serving sizes. This means that the data was imported by MFP from the USDA database (available for your own searching here: ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list) When searching for fruits and vegetables, try this format: "Bananas - raw" "Apples - raw" "Potatoes - cooked" etc.…
  • OMG the licking. My dog has allergies and licks his paws pretty frequently. DRIVES ME INSANEEEE. Also, if he chews something for longer than I think it should take him, I get antsy and agitated. (But I don't scream at him or hit him.. I just huff and puff until he's done or I distract him with a toy haha) Oh, and when my…
  • Hometown: Baltimore, MD Current: Fairfax, VA Work: DC I count for all three! I'm a full-fledged-DMV  EDIT: Although growing up I'm pretty sure DMV was Del-Mar-Va, as in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. But DC works too haha
  • I use this spreadsheet, created by user heybales on MFP, to calculate my TDEE/TDEG: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amt7QBR9-c6MdGVTbGswLUUzUHNVVUlNSW9wZWloeUE&usp=drive_web#gid=14 You'll notice that it says "Sedentary is base activity that is built on, which already includes weekly - 40 hr work sitting, 56 hr…
  • Sedentary lifestyle? She said she chases 1-yr-old twins around after work. That AT LEAST qualifies her as Lightly Active. OP - I think, in addition to eating more calories, period, you need to eat some more protein-rich foods. I noticed you only have meat with dinner - it may help to add a piece of lean meat to your lunch.
  • I love that Gina uses MFP!!! It's so helpful
  • Err scratch that, its $40/month. Not sure how I feel about the fact that their website says one price and their Assistant Manager says another..
  • If you're looking for a service that you pay to meal plan for you, I've heard good things about eMeals.com. There are discount codes all over the place, and if you sign up for their emails and wait a week or so, they'll send you discounts that way as well. Other than that, I use ziplist.com to create my own menu plans. I'm…
  • The best oatmeal recipes I've ever made came from here: www.theoatmealartist.com The baked oatmeal varieties are probably my favorite: http://www.theoatmealartist.com/search/label/baked%20oatmeal, especially the peanut butter cookie one. TONS of flavor in her recipes. Except the pumpkin pie. Don't say I didn't warn you…
  • Quote from snopes link:
  • Hi there! Congrats on getting back in the game! I think getting involved is a GREAT way to stay motivated and accountable. Feel free to add me if you're looking for friends/ support/ accountability. Christina Oh and I hear you about feeling guilty. Office sweets are SO tempting to me, and once I have one it's SO hard not…
  • Took a quick look at your diary -- WEIGH your food instead of using measuring cups. There are MANY topics here about the differences between weighing and measuring. It's likely that you're eating more calories than you think. Try that for 3-4 weeks and see where you are then. Also, try reducing your sodium intake a bit.
  • http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/27/health/new-fda-nutrition-labels-would-make-serving-sizes-reflect-actual-servings.html?smid=tw-share&_r=3 This article has a sample of a new label next to a current label. I, for one, am pleased to see Vitamin D added as a required statistic. I have low vitamin D levels, even with…
  • ^^This is what I've always heard too.
  • I ran/walked my first 5K last weekend on the treadmill, so not under competition pressure or anything, and did the 3.1 in about 37 minutes. Then I jogged/walked until 3.5 miles so my total time was 43 minutes. Not bad for me, since I have never trained and have only once ran/walked a longer distance than 1 mile. Good luck…
  • Ahh love them all! Edited: They moved their website off of etsy. It's now here: http://www.activateapparel.com/ THEY HAVE SO MANY MORE DESIGNS!!!
  • The issue is the spaces in the title of the picture. No spaces allowed because it turns the spaces into %20 and MFP can't handle that. Rename the picture & try again. Also, don't just copy what's in the address bar. You only need up until '.jpg'
  • Bahaha. I love it. I really do feel for the people who think this stuff is fact though. They have a lot of learning to do.
  • So, drinking water immediately before bed helps you avoid stroke/heart attack? And drinking water immediately before showering helps lower your blood pressure? That is absolutely the dumbest thing I've heard all day. If you don't drink enough water and THIS is the only thing that is going to increase your water intake,…
  • Do you have room in your home for weights? I don't have specific suggestions, but I'm sure you could find a weight-system (bar, weight plates, whatever) so that you could work out at home. (Suggesting this because you said you never had time before to go to the gym - why not buy things to create you own home gym? That way…
  • nevermind. Tried to fix your picture link, but failed. Not sure why.
  • A few other quick suggestions, based on looking at your diary: - Try setting up your macros so that you're eating more protein and fats, and less carbs. - Make sure to WEIGH your foods. I noticed that you had 2 bananas yesterday. A "medium" banana can vary GREATLY in weight, and that makes a HUGE difference. I noticed that…
  • Not everyone's body looks the same at a certain weight, even if they are the same height. I am 5'3" and 123lbs. I have flab on my stomach and my thighs and butt are jiggly. I would NOT say that I look "too thin" or "like crap". Quit being so judge-y. Unless you know the OP personally, there's no need to think that they are…
