  • If by AS you mean Ankylosing spondylitis, I feel for you. My husband has an issue with joint inflammation (I'm not sure what his diagnosis actually is but it's manageable with lots of NSAIDs right now) and has tested positive for the gene (or mutation?) that tends to lead to AS, so he has researched it a lot. Have you…
  • Ugh! I cashed out on 7/11 but I keep getting daily emails to re-verify my Paypal account before they'll release my funds. Problem is, when I click the link to re-verify, Paypal tells me I'm verified already! I think the problem is because my name doesn't match... I got married and my Paypal account is now associated with…
  • Agreed! I did a lot of research before buying my first Lodge skillet (and even afterwards!) and what I found is that one of the reasons people think you can't use soap is that soap used to contain lye in the "olden days". The lye was the problem - it would totally ruin the finish (in addition to being bad for you, I…
  • Sync is up, at least for now!
  • It appears that sometimes MFP and fitbit.com don't sync when we want them to. Give it a few hours, mine didn't sync for almost 7 hours yesterday but eventually synced up just before midnight.
  • Yep, this is all I was referring to. Mine synced up last night at 11:20pm-ish.
  • I can confirm that this worked for me last week. Make sure to unlink on fitbit side too.
  • Beer Battered Onion Rings by Just a Taste *Can also be used for fried pickles!
  • Yes! That's definitely lightly active. If you end up with negative fitbit adjustments, you can go back to Sedentary, but I think Lightly Active is more appropriate for you.
  • I usually make this recipe with chicken, but have made it with turkey too: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/01/skinny-tuna-noodle-casserole.html I honestly love all of the recipes I've made from SkinnyTaste.com. It's geared towards Weight Watchers participants, but they are good, healthy meals nonetheless.
  • Put your charge hr in your pocket when grocery shopping!! Also if you turn off "all day sync" the battery on the charge hr lasts longer
  • 1 hr, 5.9 miles logged = 542 cals. So that's 542/60/10=0.90333. 0.90333*60*24=1300 cals per day. Same (within 3 cals) as MFP's calculation. Very strange, don't you think? So instead of 5 cals per min I'm actually at roughly 4.5167 and they're rounding, right? Not sure this provides an answer to why my fitbit calorie burn…
  • I'm not OP, but I'm getting strange numbers as well. Female, 5'3", 130lb, resting HR 74-79 bpm. MFP goal to lose 1/2lb per week is 1370 (activity level set to sedentary because I'm not consistent with my exercise and prefer to add it when I do it). Yesterday was my first full day wearing the Charge HR - my end-of-day…
  • Hi Terri, You should see a doctor and talk to him or her about disordered eating. You may also need to make an appointment with a psychologist specializing in eating disorders.
  • A suggestion I read about once is to start slow with going meatless, even if it's just one meal or one day. I started with a chickpea-chicken curry recipe - I made it half chicken, half chickpeas the first time, mostly chickpeas the next time, and have been making it with only chickpeas ever since. My go-to black bean…
  • Forgive me if I'm being dense. I do enjoy some meatless meals now and again. There is nothing wrong (to me) with eating a meatless meal. However, can you explain how you save energy preparing a meatless meal? I make a mean black bean burger, but it takes just as much energy to grill/pan sear it as it would to grill/pan…
  • I've done this before, but never with butter - how do you prevent it from soaking through the paper lunch bag? Do you add the butter before you pop the popcorn or add it later?
  • I like adding flavored vodka to iced tea (with 1-2 sweet n low packets, not real sugar), because I don't drink soda. If you drink soda, any diet option is 0 calories. Alcohol isn't low calorie though. You just need to fit it into your day if you want to have it.
  • Search the database for "chicken meat and skin wing, cooked" or "chicken meat and skin dark, cooked" and enter the weight of the cooked meat & skin that you eat. If you peel all of the skin off, search for "chicken meat only wing cooked" or "chicken meat only dark cooked". EDIT: Use the entry that has multiple…
  • I cannot make sloppy joes without lentils now, because of her "Sloppy Joes +" recipe. My fiance loves it sooo much too!
  • Step One: Figure out what meals you want to eat. Step Two: Figure out what ingredients go in those meals. Step Three: Generate list based on Step Two. No one can tell you what you should be buying. Just buy food to make what you like, and track it to make sure you're under your calories for the day/week/whatever.
  • Thanks everyone! @Queenmunchy I'm open to anything, I just didn't want people posting "substitution"-type recipes. Like cauliflower crust pizza - type things. (Not that I'm knocking cauliflower haha just not in my pizza!)
  • How to change the applicable setting depends on whether you are using the mobile app or the website. If you are on the website, click "Add food" when you are on the food diary page. The "Add Food To" screen will pop up - below the search bar it should say "Or, add your favorites for:" Next to this, you can click the arrow…
  • This is what I do. I had a free week to Hello Fresh and was super happy with the food we got. But I couldn't justify spending as much on ~3 meals as I usually do on 6 plus snacks and drinks. So I started saving their recipes instead. I can but the ingredients for 6 of their meals for the price that they charge for 3.…
  • What what! Thanks for the reminder!!
  • Mmm how about... 2 pork egg rolls 1 LG order of general tso's chicken with fried rice instead of white rice 1 or 2 orders of crab Rangoon Mayyybe some egg drop soup. But it's like 90 degrees out so maybe I'll skip the soup. Oh, you weren't asking for my take out order? Sorry. Just get whatever YOU like! Personally I'd go…
  • Alton Brown's "Good Eats" cookbooks are like this. I love them! My fiance actually bought me the first one for Christmas last year haha.
  • *Downside, not downsize. Sorry. Can't edit from my phone.
  • If you have some cash to throw around, services like Blue Apron and Hello Fresh are designed for people who are either too busy to cook or don't know where to start. They provide recipes, step by step instructions, and all of the ingredients. You follow the recipes and it's super easy! The downsize is that they are…
