I use to be really picky like yourself but have slowly added little portions of foods I dont like into my cooking and have slowly "grown" out of them. Like for onions, dice it up really small, if a receipie needs it then add it but a small amount and slowly build up from there. I now like onions, peppers and amb. At one…

It's really down to what feels right to you, I'm no exert on fitness or dieting and I only started this year (2nd January), but I have found that using this as a constant tracker to be the best way to lose weight, before now I "Tried" to lose weigt but with mfp I have and will continue to lose weight and hopefully gain…

If you simply cut down on what you eat it breaks down the fat and some of the muscular tissue, so it seems best to excercise more to eat more, and at the same time this should prevent your body from going into starvation mode.

I did the same on saturday as it was my birthday, if anything it has encouraged me to keep going, to really watch what I am doing.

A trip out is always good, trip to the cinema or a day out. Depending on the goal sometimes the goal itself is the reward.

I know you state something other than the basics (besides the usual busy yourself with an activity - wait 20 minutes - drink water) but I honestly find these really work, if you find yourself sat at home bored, why not go for a walk? If you don't feel like a walk is there something else you can be doing? Like I said I know…

Great post, like you said "Trying is not a goal", before now I have "Tried" to lose weight but at the beginning of the year I actually did it and am continuing to do so. Haven't started any weight training yet but I am going to do it, not gunna try just going to.

I am not as consistent as haileydawnb due to having a child and being unable to workout daily, but in regards to the binging we have just stopped buying it, if I fell the need for anything bad I make myself earn it, this means I only get something if I work out. So on my non work out days I tend to try and keep myself busy…

When I started I went straight for 2lb a week, sounds alot but really isn't, with the right diet and excercise this is a pretty average target (for me at the moment). I weigh myself just once a week at the same time on the same day, bit of a routine to make it as accurate as possible for the weight loss, I know others do…

Excercise helps build a healthy body while the calorie deficite helps lose the weight, since I started running and really working hard at it I have found it has helped me lose weight, not sure if it is the actual running or the positive feeling the excercise gives me. It depends how you want to look at it, but the way I…

I am folowing an App on my phone, as I had never run before it takes you from nothing to 5km in 8 weeks, and you run every other day and the days in between are rest days, which I am now trying to add in some weight training. Find it really useful to be following something which helps build up to a bigger distance, I…

We are not as organised as sorting a months worth or receipies but we purchased a small white board and plan a weeks dinners every Sunday. This has been great for the diet and in organising grocery shopping.

I do the same (excluding the sports bra bit), I am currently completing a programme of running for beginners which include the warm up and cool down, both are brisk walks and all is included as the excercise programme, therefore logic says to add them as calorie burners.

I do the last bit of what Casey said, because I dont exercise everyday (I am also sedentary - office job) I add my excercise as I go using an app on my phone whch links to mfp. I have found this really useful and an easy way to follow it. My calories have just gone down again to 1650, which although is a challenge I find…

Same as there are good carbs and bad carbs there are good sugars and bad sugars as others have said about fruit and veg etc being the good sugars. It is ok going over the sugars with good ones (and a few bad ones) but going over it by a riduculous amount of good sugars is also bad for you. On top of them being full or…

I find if you have a quick/small breakfats always good to follow up about mid morning with some fruit, I usually have an apple or banana to keep me going until lunch.

Potatoe waffles are a nice change to having toast, one potatoe waffle is about 100cal, I usually have either 1 medium fried egg (75ish cal) and maybe a rasher of bacon or some baked beans. Also good as a lunch option, like I had today, 2 x Potatoe Waffles, " rashers of Bacon half a can of reduced salt baked beans and one…

Hi, I am in a similar "boat", I tend to do my excercise in the evening when it is too late to be eating, I try to look at previous work outs to try and figure out an average calorie count for the next one. If you notice you always burn say 400 minimum then try to have 100 to 200 hndred extra calories, it doesnt need to be…

Was bought this book for Christmas and not yet tried the receipies, i know a couple of people who also have the book and have tried some of them and seemed impressed with them. Always worth looking in Asda/Sainsburys/Amazon, normally the cheapest options.

British lad here, just started dieting in last few week, started running this week so fingers crossed heading in the right direction.

possibly with the excercise you are doing you have built up some new muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. only an idea
