I thought being more healthy was reward enough.

6/9. I smoke pipes (but as Bill Clinton said I didn't inhale) and don't get 5 servings of fruits and veggies every single day. I am still a bit over weight but getting closer to not.

Sometimes it takes a little imagination. You might be surprised at how you can work in little rounds of exercise throughout the day. Take every opportunity to turn a mundane task into an exercise.

Plants absorb nutrients from the soil in which they grow. Celery, among many other plants, draw the sodium from the soil.

The BMR is the number of calories required just to keep you alive. If you filled out your profile correctly, go with the numbers MFP gives you, they have been working for me.

I'm far too amazingly handsome to feel ugly.

Great plan, but it takes time. Make sure you log honestly, and log everything. If you do that the weight will drop off, or at least you will get thinner. Muscle does displace fat with added mass so make sure to measure and not just rely on the scale.

To answer the title question: weakness is always easier than strength.

I don't diet, I just adopted a better lifestyle. No such thing as "cheating". I just do my best to stay under my calorie goal, but if I go over one day no big deal. Can't cheat on a lifestyle.

I like my FitBit so much I bought their over priced scale (just because of the wifi enabled coolness factor LOL). Seriously, the FitBit has worked great for me, and no subscription fee.

Get some tension bands and start working with those, focusing on your triceps and chest.

The morning coffee is too important to play with. Cut a couple of carbs at lunch and enjoy your morning coffee.

Yeah, you'll lose weight, you just wont be as healthy. It really is calories in/calories out.

Depends on what part of the body, who is doing it, and your own pain tolerance. I have one on my chest that was done by a friend. He intentionally tried to make it hurt. Hey, what are friends for? I never flinched. Once he was done he said he thought I was "one tough SOB". I stood up, paid him, and promptly knocked him on…

Interesting thread. I am good with anything related to technology. Natural born tech geek. I've been told that I am a very good writer. I enjoy writing all manner of short stories and have been working on a book for some time now but can never seem to find the time to finish it. One of my short stories is posted in my MFP…

Honestly, it sounds like your calorie goal is set too low. That aside, soda is a killer and you should drop it, even diet soda is unhealthy. This is a journey with a learning curve. Stick to it, learn as you go, and try to make better choices. One thing that really helps is upping the protein as it "sticks with you" a lot…

I understand what the OP is saying, but everyone is on a different journey with different goals. For some people an entirely "clean" diet is simply not sustainable for them, and they need to do what they can to maintain a sustainable, healthier lifestyle than the one from which they started. For some others, they are in a…

It's from a site that tracks FitBit data. If you have a FitBit it will track it for you. It's called StepStats and you can link it to your FitBit account.

Thanks, the BP is back to normal. No worries there.
