  • Me too, please! I have been as low as 201, 202 probably four times this year, then I always shoot up to 212 or so. Havent been under 200 in over 15 years, plan on being under that this summer for the first time in soooooo long!
  • I am just learning that I need to be primal/paleo. Not sure which yet. I have hypothyroidism, and due to trying every crazy diet out there all of my life, then failing and gorging on tons of sugary foods and pizza, fast food, you name it, my metabolism is all messed out, I am insulin resistant, and have metabolic syndrome.…
  • I also think the best thing to do is to make changes slowly but consistently. I tried a million times to just stop eating anything unhealthy and make drastic changes to my diet, only to fail within days or a week or two, then gorge myself on all of the foods I had cut out, like pizza, candy, donuts, cookies, etc. Then I…
  • I made a chocolate smoothie with an avocado, frozen cherries, half a banana, water, threw some spinach in since you cant taste it anyway, and some raw cacao powder, which is actually good for you, and a litlle stevia. That bad boy took care of my gigantic sweet craving. The recipe I used was: 1 avocado 1 and a half cups…
  • I had the same problem, and I decided to read "It starts with food", and everything has changed for the better. I know that not every food plan works for everybody, but this is working for me. I worked out 5 times a week, ate really healthy 80% of the time, and ate sweets far too often, so I couldnt lose weight. Since…
  • You know what's really annoying? I make such great food choices, avoid processed foods, drink tons of water, workout, and reflect on how I am a changed person, and I love feeling so strong, healthy, and in control. And then suddenly, out of the blue, I am wolfing down little Reece's peanut butter cups like some sort of an…
  • Sometimes I eat more than 800 calories in chocolate alone. Does that count?
  • Roasted cauliflower, pour some coconut oil on it, sea salt and pepper and some chili powder, roast at 450 degrees until carmalized. Never thought I'd see the day that I would like veggies.
  • Wow! I loved that movie! It made me laugh, made me cry.... you look exactly like him. Uncanny!
  • Put your weight gain into perspective. You realize that you've been out of control, so now get back in control. I find that reading people's comments on this site is really inspiring and helpful. Especially pictures of people's progress. Check out the pictures that people post of their transformation over 3, 4, 6 months.…
  • I read all of the success stories on here, and no one mentions anything other than healthy eating and physical activity. Any pills or potions are not the answer. We just want it to be the answer so that the weight comes off quicker and easier. But read some success stories, and that will get you motivated to do it the…
  • I am a beginner, I focus mainly on cardio, and am looking for a beginner weight training program. I am also hoping for some good direction. Thank you for this post!
  • It HAS to be doable! I have seen so many success stories on here, people really changing their bodies in a matter of months. we can do it!!
  • I also sent you a freind request, so I look forward to seeing your success, and hearing about your challenges. I have about 80 pounds or so to lose. I dont even know, because I have been over 200 lbs for so long, I'm not really sure what I should weigh. I started this January at about 227. I've had some great weeks, and…
  • Thank you for the awesome ideas! I am always looking for healthy, low carb low sugar smoothie ideas. Thanks for sharing!!
  • I can totally relate. I am completely addicted to sugar. The more that you can avoid processed sugar, the less you will crave it. I have read that so often, and didnt believe it could be true, but it is. I was someone who ate giant bags of M&Ms, donuts, cookies, chocolate candy, cakes, brownies, you name the sweet…
  • I have been eating pretty much gluten free for the last 4 weeks, very low carb, and low sugar. Here are some really great websites for gluten free, low carb, low sugar recipes and healthy ideas. yourlighterside.com http://www.lifelessbull****.com/the-life-less-bull****-manifesto/…
  • Bruno Mars You make me feel like I'm locked out of Heaven
  • Can someone tell me how to join this group? I've never joined any groups here before, and am not sure how to do this.
  • You probably were the only one, but now it will be in my head too.
  • My body definitely does not process sugar well. If I have one cookie, it's like the flood gates opened, and they cant be closed until I have eaten enough cookies to feel sick. Sugar and breads definitely are two things that trigger massive eating binges for me. Check out this website yourlighterside.com. SHe has tons of…
  • Go to the website yourlighterside.com. SHe has so many amazing ideas for foods that are low carb, low sugar, and made from healthy ingredients. No processed foods, so nothing you can just pick up in the store to eat. But if you make them ahead of time, you'll have them for when the craving hits.
  • I've lost weight, and swore that I would NEVER gain it back, and then gained it back and then some. And that has happened...oh...like at least 20 times throughout my life. But I keep trying, not going to give up!
  • I think everyone's body is different. Sugar has drastic effects on me, but I have a lot of excess fat especially in my abdomen and waist, so I am probably insulin resistant. There are a lot of good articles and books out there on sugar and how it affects your body.
  • I agree with the last post: you are healthy and have a healthy attitude. So much to be proud of, eating healthy and working out, staying involved in life. Good for you! I also hope to be where you are some day soon. Your story was well written and inspiring.
  • I like this one: If you think you can, you're right. If you think you cant, you're right.
  • It's so amazing to me when I see people who can eat one Dove square and be satisfied. If I have one Dove square, step aside, I'm diving in the bag to finish all the other 20 pieces.
  • The people on here who say "just have a little bit" must not be sugar addicts. Otherwise, that advice is like saying to an alcoholic "just have a drink or two and then quit". I like the chocolate almond milk suggestions, and the chocolate covered almonds, and the person with the homeade chocolate recipe. But really, if I…
  • I use almond milk, banana, and strawberries, mango, blueberries, raspberries, any kind of berry you like. And I throw in ground flaxseed, and it doesnt change the flavor. I dont know why you would add almond butter though.
  • 2 eggs with mushrooms, peppers, turkey sausage, any veggies you like, scrambled. Very delicious and filling. Each egg is 70 calories, then just add in for veggies and sausage if you add that. Or greek yogurt with some chopped walnuts, or fresh berries. Protein helps you stay full longer.
