Quick hello before movie night with DH and DS - Five weeks with MFP and I remain at 8 lbs lost. I would REALLY like to count the 2 oz. lost since last week, but as soon as I put on my earrings... those 2 oz. don't count anymore. My first thought was one of real discouragement, because most days last week I was well under…

Katla I agree with Fanncy and Sassy on going with a Plan B for your trip, but your DH gets a vote, too. Flaming Gorge is in NE Utah probably an hour away from Rock Springs, WY. It sounds like you'll be heading home, but if you do decide to take a scenic route, it is beautiful there. I live about south of there in a spot 3…

Shiny dog servants, early risers, creative explain-ers (cooked grapes :) ), walkers, talkers, line-dancers, cyclists, writers, artists, mothers, poets, grandmothers, weight-losers, milestone achievers, above all... friends. I like this group! Thanks for sharing your lives. Katla if you end up on your return journey near…

Hunger is not an emergency. Hunger is not an emergency. Hunger is not an emergency. (I'm sorry, I don't remember who said this, but thank you) Hunger is not an emergency!!

It's so interesting hearing about your lives. I like this group because there is honesty, sincere concern and support, and friendship. I can't begin to tell you all how much your progress inspires me! Gilly in Suffolk – A "milestone" may seem like a LONG way off, but girlfriend, you've got a whole bunch of stepping stones…

Lesley I'm glad you had the dream of Mildred and that you had a peaceful sleep. And I'm glad you have such precious memories to relive. Sylvia Glad you posted your ticker... you've done so amazing. I hope you're able to get your health issues sorted out sooner than later.

Holy smokes, Cynthia thank you for sharing that picture of your horses smile! I hope you don't mind, I emailed the photo to my mom who has been an equine dentist for the past 12 years in Alberta for a surface consult (obviously, she can only base her thoughts on the one photo). She actually is getting ready next week to…

Good Morning Sunshine! What a difference the sun makes… I can feel myself coming alive! Anyone else feel like that? Good news! I'm right on track for reaching my goal weight by mid-July. And I wasn't going to, but decided to measure myself again as it has been 4 weeks since I started. That was also very encouraging and I'm…

Testing 1 2 3 There's something slightly intimidating about posting my 'progress' ticker. It's kind of like standing in front of you in my underwear… yikes!! It also makes me take my efforts more seriously, because now I'm 'out there' so to speak. Did I mention how much I adore that there are so many of you from all over…

This is a great place to be, lots of support and so easy to keep track of exercise and caloric intake. Glad you're here. I know the sunshine makes a world of difference for me. You can do this!

Good Morning Sunshine! It's terrible to read through all the posts and by the time I get here, I've forgotten who's said what! Between the 'nicknames' we have and the real names attached, I'm hopelessly lost. Many apologies! But I am quite interested to hear your experiences with FitBit and whether or not that would be…

I always use frozen fruit so no need for icecubes. And the only thing that's standard is 1/2 c. - 1 c. almond or coconut milk. Most of my smoothies depend on what I have in my freezer/fridge. Somtimes yogurt, but usually more basic. Some vanilla protein powder can be added if you're on the run and want to make sure you're…

MargaretTurk Thank you for sharing the beautiful flowers with us. We've gotten quite a few inches of snow in the past few days, so that is a wonderful reminder that spring is coming! Cynthia and Lesley Your conversation about genealogy got my attention. It is so interesting that Cynthia mentioned a mental hospital that had…

Hi all... slightly, (ok, horrendously) traumatized when a friend told me her 7 yr. old daughter almost died last night. She'd wrapped a long shoelace around her neck for some reason (meant for the cats to play with and tied to her bedroom doorknob) and was in convulsions when my friend found her. Of course, my friend had…

Thank you all for the birthday wishes :) And thanks to Joyce for the visual of groping a dude (only to find out if he was a prop or not ;) in a Halloween spook house, I'm sure I'll be smiling all day. Have a successful day, ladies!! Selena Utah

Dear Friends, Today is my last day as a 51 yr old and I am on my 19 day "Streak". I remember my first couple of days and how it seemed so odd to think I was on a 1 or 2 day streak, yet here I am almost 3 weeks later and well on my way to success in achieving my goal. Thanks to you and MFP. I had decided today I was too…

Meg You and your husband are rockstars. It is not easy to parent grown kids, especially when they have kids. We all want to protect and save them but that never works and they only end up resenting us for what we didn't do and seldom are grateful for what we did do. I admire you both for being emotionally supportive but…

Happy Ending Just a quick update on 'Bruiser'. I posted vague information on 3 community sites about finding a little dog (no sex or breed) and asked anyone who'd lost a dog to private message me on Facebook with a photo id of dog and specifics. I only got one message from a girl who'd lost her neutered male Yorkie (tiny)…

Thought I'd share what I found in the middle of a busy road today (this close to being hit by a car!)... no collar, terribly thin, dirty and matted. I have NO experience with teeny pooches, so any suggestions are most appreciated. I'm mainly concerned about getting a little nourishment into the little fella, but he seems…

Good morning Ladies! I mentioned my commitment to a type of exercise called 'Classical Stretch', developed by a former ballerina, Miranda Esmonde-White. I think she's around 64 yrs. old and I just found out she's a breast cancer survivor and has also developed some rehabilitation type exercises for post-surgery. Thought…

Lesley Thinking of you and your precious Mildred today. Hugs from Utah! Carol from NC I'm new here and don't know your back story, but what you said about resisting dating struck a chord. I remember being resistant after the breakup of my first marriage; in fact, I'd determined never to marry again. I suppose my best…

Lesley I am sorry about your beloved pet. It's not easy, that's for sure. My stomach got upset last night and I had a gingerale. It helped, but since I rarely drink pop/soda, it never occurred to me how many calories/carbs, sugar etc. is in the stuff! Wow! So not worth it!! And today I totally gave in to my stress level…

Similar idea as above, only I cut them into 'fries' and give them a sprinkle of garlic salt. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes, turn and give them another 15 - 20... you'll know. Love the caramelized crispiness. Seriously, so good!

Ok, got through yesterday's crazy day under my calorie goal, thanks to you. I honestly was inspired by your progress, even though I felt SO hungry and soldiered on. The suggestions to pack all the right food really helped, and at my son's Valentine party I took a big vegetable platter with homemade dip (both of which I set…

Good morning... I am new and keep reading DH... dear husband? dreadful hangover? doll house? Do help me with the abbreviations! Not sure how to navigate these next two days where I'm on the run and away from home. Any tips would be grand! Thanks and have a successful day :)
-
Greetings all! I am new here (originally from Alberta, Canada but have been living in Utah, U.S. for the past 4 years), and am well into Day 2 ... yep, you read that right... TWO. But so far so good. I wonder why I haven't taken this seriously and done this before? I would like to drop between 20 - 25 pounds before July.…

Thank you all for being so supportive! It makes a difference and there's no such thing as too far away! Glad you all said hi!
-
One day down... oh yeah! I can do this... (although it would be way more fun if I wasn't having to talk to myself). And if you're reading this, I hope you have a successful and productive day!

So I may end up being my own friend and support. Could be worse. Sure hope to get to know somebody I haven't had to put mascara on :)

Getting ready to create a pieced quilt for my grandson (only my 3rd one). He'll be 2 next month. My strategy is get the quilt to them after the projectile vomiting and explosive bowel movement stage is well behind the grandbabies so the quilt has a shot at being a decent keepsake :) I found out I really love choosing the…
