you can totally do a hybrid by mixing in your favorite parts from different workouts.

three of my friends have sought out alternative treatment for allergies, fever syndrome and a couple other health issues. they fly out to this Doctor and have been totally pleased with the results from just one visit each. they were at the end of the road with traditional medicine. my one friend who is 37 and both of her…

i have really enjoyed my soy smoothies (shake like) over the years. i don't have a true recipe, so here are the general guidelines. the colder the better...add ice till real thick. firm soy, ice or frozen fruit, soy milk (you can use juice too) drop of vanilla, honey/sugar in the raw to taste basic: 1 serving soy about 1…

most foods are high in sodium when they reduce the fat. consider going for quality vs quantity. get a gooooood tasting cheese, eat it less often, and it will be more rewarding. i would rather eat my fave good quality foods less often, then daily/every meal with lesser quality.

wow....i had no idea that cheese was such a loved food. i guess my "drug" of choice would be chocolate, with a close second being anything fast and easy. i still allow myself both of these, daily. i just try to keep my choices healthier and my daily intake in a variety of foods so that i don't limit my vitamins and…

i will do a day of meatless meals...there are lots of foods besides meats that provide protein. i will also do a week of low carbs...nothing white and very limited fruit (no tropical fruits ...esp bananas or pineapple); lots of veggies and bulk, salmon, fish, tuna, chicken breast (all meats baked with only spices) i…

6+ pounds in less than 3 weeks. 14ish more to go.

don't let age fool you...i'm 43 and have lost 6 pounds in less than 3 weeks. it can be done. eating healthy (don't forget your fresh or frozen fruits and veggies!), exercising 6 days a week, good nights sleep = weight comes off. it's when we play the game of i exercised so i can eat anything i want that we end up running…

i have found that fruit dishes tend to be the easiest to make healthy. i made apple crisp last week and used sugar in the raw instead of white sugar. there are fruit pizzas...use a whole wheat crust to make it that much healthier. walnuts and almonds are my new snack food take along. or veggie tray with carrots, cucumbers,…

i do have goals through the end of next year for my training: vacation in one week. when i get back, i plan to start a walk to run program and Brazilian Butt Lift, while continuing my Turbo Jam. Then Dec first i plan to start ChaLEAN Extreme (i love a new challenge, so this will take me through the holidays!) then in Feb i…

do you have an event date for a triathlon? here's my thought... if you don't have a date to train to then BRING it to P90X with all you have for the 90 days. then if you want to do a hybrid of P90X and your training then your training will be much more effective with what you gained in strength, confidence and weight loss…

talk to your doctor first. second...live a healthy lifestyle: eat healthy, exercise 4-6 times a week and see what happens. make this a life time change and your body will "land" where it lands. we get so hung up in numbers and sizes. cut the tags out, throw the scales away and live healthy and continue your portion control…
-
first what does your doctor say? second...how do you feel? healthy living isn't about size/scales. it's balance within your eating, movement, family and life events. eat healthy, workout with a program you enjoy to be healthy...where ever the scales and sizes land is, well, were they land. i have a goal weight. but…

unfortunately, many of those that are young, professionals too! look to the bottle and clubs for their only source of entertainment. yes, there are responsible, healthy, family oriented young people...but if you aren't in that circle, it can be difficult to find them. when i was in my 20's, the bars were all i did. and…
-
being young is tough. all i wanted to do when i was in my 20's was hang out in the bars. and i did. by 30 i was in a size 18 for our wedding. not fun. thankfully we moved 3 weeks after our wedding and i got out of that group of friends. that is not possible for most people. or maybe it is and we don't realize it's time for…

my last comment...i PROMISE! my prescriptions, doctors appointments, and related cost have gone down about $100-$200 a month since losing weight. Three years ago at my heaviest i was seeing an allergist 2 times a year, on 4 allergy/asthma meds, going to my GP 2 times a year, or more and on 2 meds there. and taking a very…

and....if you stop buying chips and crackers and processed stuff, your grocery bill will go down! Oats in bulk are SOOOO much cheaper than the pre-measured packets and boxed cereal with HFCS and tons of calories.

AWESOME post! i spent less money on my DVD's that i have used for 3 months now than my Husband spends on his Y membership. in 11 weeks i have lost 16 pounds and gone from 16's to 10's and some 12's. we do prefer to eat fresh veggies...but i go to the produce stand. find a good local produce stand that has local veggies and…

i'm here for you!!! i stopped dieting. i am changing my thinking and my lifestyle. i want to be healthy and active so that i can finish well.

one day isn't going to run you into the ditch. and if you can exercise to earn the additional calories that is best. know that when you do this, if you weigh daily, you will have more of a roller coaster on the scales. this is OKAY...just don't use that to judge what you eat/do that day. the scales IMO should be a tool,…

i personally drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. (living in the south, if i'm on the boat or doing yard work in the summer, i increase that slightly) on a typical day i have 8 oz of coffee first thing in the morning, 8 oz of milk (cow, almond or soy) and my water. i gave up sodas almost a year ago. there was the drag during…

good example...if you go to the gym, 5 am, 10 am, 5 pm, 9 pm you WILL see fit people getting results. for me, 2-4 pm works for me....getting ready to do it now.

from what i have heard, there's really no major difference. the important factor is that you ARE working out. if you are able to sleep at night after working out, then go for it. (now that i'm in my 40's, i have to be careful not to overstimulate myself a couple hours before bed. if i am revved up, no matter how tired i…

awesome Jake! reward yourself with a full body massage, new pair of jeans for the fall that has set in, or purchase a new workout to get you that much farther down the road to your goal. GREAT WORK!
