  • Just an old screen name that I started using years ago that was a little different (at least in the spelling) and just stuck with it because it's one that's not usually taken.
  • Which is exactly the point I was making in a rather extreme way to what I thought was a one-sided reply that goes against those sentiments. Anyway, I think everyone has made their point. Let's all move on with more positive things shall we ?
  • Congrats, amazing transformation in under a year.
  • A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.....and at some point you fall on your face....and the journey begins again with one step.
  • You can add me. I won't be ever winning the biggest loser of the week though. Idealy I want to maitain my current weight by rebuilding my current muscle mass and cutting off the fat. Of course fat burns faster than muscle builds so I've changed my goal to get down to 210 which should take most the excess off and then I can…
  • Taking a chainsaw and cutting off your leg in the morning reduces your body weight too. It doesn't mean there aren't any negative effects. All the people above you are "venting" on were doing was providing the downside information. There is nothing wrong with people having all the information. If people prefer to ignore…
  • Honestly, you need to worry about your immediate health more than your longer term health goals right now. Eat healthy and let your body recover. Recovering from surgery where your doctor tells you that you cannot raise your heartrate is no time to worry about a few calories or even pounds.
  • I just picked up a Polar F7. If you search on goggle you can find the national Polar site for your country. Once on their site you can check out the different features of the different models on find local and online vendors. I was going to order mine online from the runningroom (best Canadain pricing I found) but found…

  • Yep I meant boring. For myself I try to keep a minimum of 4-5 foods in the house that allow me to spike either carbs/protein/fat/fibre so I can fill in deficiencies and have a variety in my meals.
  • Well then, we'll be looking for you tomorrow ;) Welcome.
  • Tuna has almost no fat. Wrap some bread around it and you have pretty much just carbs, protein and sodium.
  • Welcome Peter, I can relate on counting things you were previously eating. 5 days a week I used to eat the same breakfast froma little greasy spoon and had noticed when I was doing this is when I was putting on weight. Finally did the math last night, 1500 calories for that breakfast, now even a big meal with healthy…
  • Hey Valqis, Personally I can very much understand doing great in a competition and then letting off. I'm going to guess much like myself you are very competitive and when you don't feel challenged by others you simply aren't as interested. I know this has historically been very true of myself. The key is slightly changing…
  • All sounds very familiar to me. I was never a gym rat before. Just sports and plain old hard work. Never paid attention to the diet etc. Kinda have to now as it's gotten me here. Just picked up a book myself I'm working my way through. "Food for Fitness" by Chris Carmichael. It's all about proper ways to fuel your body for…
  • Vancouver (area), Canada.
  • Aye, no running for me Sarge. I used to sprint in high school but long distance running and I have never gotten along well. Currently I do 15 mins of cardio warmup on the recumbent bike. I've structured my weight lifting so I'm always working two exercises for two different body parts at the same time, this allows me to…
  • Bingo!
  • This is probably nothing new but for someone like yourself that has tried all the schemes, diets, etc. Probably the most important thing is understanding living and being healthy is a way of life, it is not something you can do a couple times a week for xx number of minutes. Start making small changes and gradually…
  • Doing both now. I started just working out 3 days a week (full body workout plus cardio) and didn't plan on changing my diet as I've always been one of the lucky ones to have always eat what I've liked (thankfully I've never had much of a sweet tooth). Thinking about adding cardio only sessions for 3 days a week as well.…
