With the weight that I need to lose, I think it will affect my workouts in a positive way!

I have a half marathon in 6 weeks, then after that I will be on a 30 week program for Spring Marathon Campaign with a half in April sometime.

It depends on the run that I am doing. If it is pace specific I will not listen to music, but will especially if at the gym on the treadmill. I usually listen to podrunner or audiofuel too for specific paced or interval workouts.

September might be a long ways off, but if you have some sort of fracture, it's advisable to go see a sports doctor asap. It's important to get all the niggles worked out before you really get into your training campaign.

A big congratulations on your milestone. Just wait till you get to double digits. That first 10 miler is something else. It's awesome that you love running. If I am doing something on the treadmill for at least an hour or so, I listen to a podcast called marathontalk. After I am done with that I like science fiction or fantasy.

I really don't use any, and just embrace the heat. But don't really get that much of it so it is a bit rewarding. But to be honest when it is really really hot (humid) I remind myself of how winter sucks!!

I have a notebook with those plastic inserts (paper protector sheets) and I will put my bib in them and then write down all the good information on it somewhere. You can log them online somewhere too, but this makes it more memorable. :smile:

Wear it! Have you seen the costumes that people wear at races? and........if you decide not to, if you only have 3 gels, you can just carry them. But race how you have trained to race.

I carry a 250 mil bottle I think by Nathan, and then for long runs, I use a camelbak. I used to carry a heavier on in my hand, but it was very cumbersome. agreed it can tire you out, but practicing carrying a water bottle is what you have to do.
