How did you get my scale to your house without me knowing!? I usually step on my continuously until I get the same reading 2 or 3 times in a row. But, I usually like the 1st number the best too. Stupid electronics.

Polar FT4 user here! It's made all the difference in the world with counting my workouts in my daily calorie goals!
-
Is it diet soda? I noticed that problem when I had my diet coke addiction (need 1 every afternoon after lunch, if not more). About an hour after the soda, I would feel so hungry for sweets. I would give in for said hunger/craving.... equaling weight gain. I've heard the artificial sweeteners can do that for some people.
-
YES! Invest in one! (WITH a chest strap!) I bought a Polar Ft4 in March - best investment for my weight loss. I found that I wasn't burning as many calories as MFP was saying. The worst offenders were for elliptical workouts and using circuit training for the 30 Day Shred. Eye opening, yet refreshing.... worth every penny!!

I have a super cheap/flimsy food scale that I got at Target for like $5... it measures up to 12 oz or something. It totally does the trick when measuring out my pasta, chicken, etc!
-
Can you still do walking as exercise? I would say find a good hilly outdoor route to do. I have a 4.5 mile loop with some good hills, that burns around 600 calories in 85 minutes. Or, using incline settings on a treadmill works too. Keep up the upper body strength training too! Good luck!!

It's sort of similar to the Body for Life method, but that still incorporate 20 minutes of give-it-your-all cardio 3x a week with 3 days of weight training. I kind of think a no-cardio plan is BS too.
-
Stick closer to MFP, which even estimates on the high end. I did 40 minutes last night on an Arc Trainer (harder elliptical) at intervals and only burned 378 cals - machine said 450ish... MFP said way over 500.
-
I often use the arc trainer at the gym... and the calories are usually way off. Last night the machine told me 452 calories in 40 minutes, when my HRM told me 378. MFP says 531 for 40 minutes on an elliptical. This is why I cringe when I see ladies relying very heavily on the MFP values.

I keep sugar free popsicles in my freezer all summer long. 15 calories - totally guilt free if you want to splurge on 2 or 3 of them! Fudgesicles are usually 35 cal's each if you find the sugar free ones.

Welcome! I'm sending you a friend request because your profile sounds so familiar to my situation! I am also sick of rotating the same 3 pairs of work pants and few tops. I started WW in January, but left that in early March when the new program was just not working. In the last month, I've finally hit my groove with MFP…

Great info, did the calorie calculation real quick and it's pretty close to what I do now. I want to do the body shape ratio and aim for some of the ca/fact/carb/etc percentages for a few weeks - see if that helps! Thanks for sharing!

Probably a lot of sodium. Drink more water than usual over the next few days. Everything should work back out towards the end of the week.
-
Leinenkugel summer shandy comes in at 130! Totally worth it in my opinion. :) All of my other non-light fav's are 170-200!
-
Does it have a chest strap also? If it doesn't, it won't be very accurate. Most people will chime in and recommend a Polar.... I have the FT4 model, paid around $75 for it, and it was worth every penny. I was hesitant about the awkward chest strap, but I barely notice it!

I think the greater benefit than burning calories would be building your core. I wish some folks in my office would jump on board with the stability ball as a chair... I'd be all over it. Who doesn't love a little bounce in their seat throughout the day?!
-
I bought this bottle... 24 oz. The straw is the magic trick. I fill it at least 4-5 times through the day. http://www.amazon.com/Trudeau-24-Ounce-Hydration-Bottle-Purple/dp/B0024MWXYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306378008&sr=8-1-spell

I have bought ower sodium lunch meat before. It's about half the sodium as regular.
-
Are you eating a lot of canned foods & frozen meals? Those are what make my sodium skyrocket! I try to limit to 1 of those servings per day.
-
Welcome! It sounds like you certainly have the right personal motivation at home, now let us help you when you need to vent about those sabotage-indulgences that you (and all of us!) crave! Good Luck! Sending a friend request your way.
-
Welcome! I'm a former WW'er too.... I'm having more fun and better results here with MFP and the peeps! Good Luck!!
-
I'd say about 20 also... once you ditch the saggy baggy pants for ones that fit a slimmer frame, people will notice! :)
-
I need a new scale too! I'm tempted to go with an easy no-nonsense analog one. I find it hard to think those would fluctuate as much as the digital ones. (Mine can flux 5 lbs in 3 consecutive weigh-ins in a row!!) I have a polar FT4 monitor, paid $75ish for it, and LOVE it! I've never heard a bad thing about Polar HRMs!…
-
I used to hate workouts at home too, but, I live alone, and have enough room to do most in my living room.... so I just invested in a wide range of dvd's in difficulty and length... I have a gym membership, but some mornings I just like to save the time of the trip and just get it over with!
-
Mine looks the same, only since January 3. So frustrating!
-
Thanks all for your input. I guess I'll take it for what it is, enjoy the extra calorie burn, and try to get to the gym in the morning more often!
-
Go with what your HRM tells you. As much as you want to believe the machine, or MFP, you cannot. :( Those are just estimates. It pains me to see people imputing 1000 calories for an exercise based on MFP's calculation, but being educated with a HRM now, I know it's way off. MFP has no idea how hard you were actually…

I think the box lunches are half of a sandwich usually.
-
Have you tried buying the smaller 6 or 8 oz baby size cans? Cutting back in anyway can help. I axed the Diet Coke habit cold turkey... and yeah, the withdrawal was brutal for about 4 days. Holy headache! It was worth it though. I find myself grabbing them in dire caffeine need situations, and it doesn't even taste as good…

I've seen several gyms/trainers use the Omron Body Fat Analyzers (check Amazon - $30-40). If they were junk or unreliable, I can't imagine they'd still use them. Amazon has some pretty good honest reviews. There are cheaper ones that have horrible reviews.
