  • If I were you, I would take pride in knowing that you could eat MORE than someone and still look great. If it really is that big of an issue for you to appear to be eating less, it sounds like you should talk to someone.
  • Just finished Cassandra Clare's City of Bones (first of The Mortal Instruments). It was pretty good, I'll continue the series. Prior to that was Dan Brown's Inferno (last book - so far - of the Robert Langdon series). It was fantastic, as with the rest of the series so far. Currently reading CS Lewis's The Voyage of the…
  • Here's my recent favorite: 16 oz unsweetened almond milk 1/2 cup cottage cheese 4 scoops choc whey half a banana 2 tbsp natural PB 4 tbsp of flax seed - I sometimes add this if I'm looking for some extra omegas for the day 2 servings total - 518 cals, 20g fats, 37g carbs, and 54g protein per serving with the flax seed -…
  • Can't wait for it, just like the rest of you. I HIGHLY recommend not fast forwarding through her scenes, especially if you haven't read the books. She becomes a huge character later on.
  • Instead of focusing on the time for your intervals, make it a little more relaxing and less strict. Just take your iPod/mp3 player with you and form your intervals around the songs. Run for two songs, walk for one, or something to that effect. It won't be as set in stone as running for 6 minutes and walk for 3, but it'll…
  • That's true. Once I get home from work (web sensors FTL) I'll try posting a picture for the visual aid, as well as getting an accurate measurement for the calculators to get an estimate.
  • To name a few: chicken (SKINLESS) any fish shrimp crab scallops turkey breast, legs lean steaks (sirloin, flank, flat iron, filet) - if you feel like splurging sometime lean ground beef pork tenderloin greek yogurt sottage cheese spinach salad (vegetables in general, like peas, carrots, squash or corn) fruits in general…
  • Bump.
  • I used to not like cottage cheese either, but for me, it was mainly the texture as opposed to the taste that turned me off to it. A friend of mine told me to try it with peanut butter (natural, if possible) and granola (Nature Valley is really good!). Delicious, very filling, but not bad for you - exactly what you want…
  • Supermans are sort of the opposite of planks. Rather than being on your feet and forearms/hands, you're on your core and lifting up your feet and arms. This position makes you look like the "Superman flying" pose. If that doesn't make sense, just do a Google image search of "superman ab exercise" and you'll see it.

  • Haven't tried many, but of the ones that I have tried, Granny Smith wins!
  • Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by visible abs? A six-pack or just simple definition around the abs? While flexing or at rest? I have definition for my upper abs while flexing, but my lower abs are still hidden beneath a layer of fat. Also, based on my estimate using an online calculator, my BF% is 13%. I don't have…
  • The only reason I can think of that your trainer would say that is that he doesn't want you to get complacent and feel like you can stop training since you're getting the stares/compliments/etc. As long as you stick to your regime, you can ignore it. On the flip side, you can most certainly enjoy it, as long as you and…
  • Reiterating this point, the only way to "get bulky" is to strength train AND be at a caloric surplus. On the flip side, when you're at a deficit, you do not gain muscle. However, if you are strength training while at a deficit, it will tone your pre-existing muscle. As many of the others have said, you don't have to…
  • As said, you will only gain fat and muscle if you are eating extra calories, and neither if you are eating at a deficit. However, if you are lifting while eating at a deficit, that is what tones your body more to accentuate the pre-existing muscle.
  • In addition to what the others have said, the scale won't move as quickly, but you will look a lot better as you lose the weight. In my opinion, weight isn't as important as body fat percentage, so the toning as you lose the fat is definitely a huge boost.
  • Congrats! And best of luck with the last 8 lbs!
  • My girlfriend does the Blogilates videos (she has a website filled with free videos hosted on YouTube) and I've seen the results work for her! She has videos for all parts of your body, just look for the abs videos. I can also vouch that they work well because I've done them personally when I was on vacation with no access…
  • Everything that everyone has said up to this point, I second. Just a little info to keep in the back of your mind, if you start lifting, is that the weight will not fall off as quickly because muscle weights more than fat. That being said, if you're maintaining your caloric intake, but the weight isn't coming off, that's a…
  • It's tough, but you said it all right there in what I quoted.
  • Great job! Keep it up!
